Both times I have been INCREDIBLY happy with the result, and that's coming from someone who is very type-A, and who has a history of being burned by bad haircuts. I used to dread getting my haircut and now I genuinely look forward to it because I know it's gonna look amazing without fail. Not only that, but David is just a standup guy who is super easy to talk to, and who can get along with pretty much anyone. First off it was like $50 for a haircut, I was not even offered gel or anything at the end, I asked to cut the sides short and leave the top long and when it was done the sides and the top were all short. Bar none, best place to get my sons hair cut. This location is new, but equally awesome as the McKinney location. Floyd's gets it right, loud diverse music, cool trendy and professional stylists. What more can you ask for? Anytime we come to Floyd's we are treated well and leave looking better than we walk in. It seems the all operate the same way, setup a firm set of ground rules for customer service, then have fun with it. Been coming here for a couple of years on a regular basis as it's one of the few locations with decent people at all hours and I have an unusual schedule, so I can't always choose the same person. I have never written a review before on Yelp or Google before because I don't like to create a fuss, and it's not my style to complain or lose my patience easily - last thing I want is to be another troublesome customer. However, despite spending thousands here, it appears that if you're late for any reason (even if they don't answer the phones), they will turn you away. I arrived late on a recent appointment, but I thought no worries, it didn't appear too busy, surely I could be treated like a walk in and wait a little since I'm already here right and I've always been a good customer? Nope. Wouldn't budge, and told me I had to completely reschedule, so my drive there was wasted. This on top of the front staff being completely rude about it, something I never understood in a customer service focused job. Oh did I mention, that on many occasions, I would arrive on time or even early and I would be waiting 30+ minutes, yet the one time I'm a few mins late past their 7 min policy, they refuse me so in such a rude way? I get it, haircuts aren't always on time, but come on, this is how you treat a regular customer who has never given you any issues before? This is nothing to say about the quality of barbers, like I said earlier, they are all decent for the price, but as someone who has been here for years, I've always noticed the front staff being very rude-like. Keenan at Floyds was GREAT. Im picky about my hair since my late wife was a hair stylist and after moving to Allen and having NO luck finding an appointment that would fit with my schedule I got lucky at Floyd's. Keenan was very slow and methodical with my cut to make it perfect and went above and beyond. He is young, but dont let that fool you, he does an amazing job and the atmosphere is fun and positive. I took my daughter (10 years old) in yesterday to the Allen location for a trim. When she got done, I went up to the front and was charged $45 for full-service vs $28 for a cut. The hair stylist did not ask me any questions or anything, I simply said I wanted a trim and this is how much I wanted cut off. If you end up going to this location, I'd highly suggest being extremely specific on what service you want because apparently the stylists can decide to charge you whatever they want. $45 for a trim for a 10 year old is ridiculous; regardless, I should have been asked in advance about extra services she provided OUTSIDE of what I asked for since I had to foot the bill. I could have taken my daughter to a higher end salon for a trim for the same price. I have taken my boys in many times for cuts in McKinney and will likely find a new shop after this experience. I recently went to get my haircut here and when I showed the picture I wanted to the barber by the name of Ashley or Ash , she completely messed up my hair and did the opposite of what I asked for , she blended my hair terribly and left parts of my hair longer than the others. So I was coming here several times with reservation. Each time I arrived on time but had to wait 10-15m. Today I have decided to arrive a little later. When I came in they said I am late for 7m and that's why they have a policy (if you are late 7m per host) to take on another customer. Krystal in Allen is horrible. She was late and disinterested in my son's appointment. She accused my son of having lice - loudly so other customers could hear. When she (again, loudly) asked another coworker for a second opinion, the other stylist said that he had a dry scalp. Krystal then started talking about other instances in which she had seen "live bugs," alluding to the idea that she would find some while cutting my son's hair. Again, his scalp was dry, as I and the other stylist showed her. She had no tact, no compassion, and was completely unprofessional in how she handled the situation. We will not return to this location and very likely not Floyd's in general, which is too bad because we've had positive experiences in the past and referred them to friends. However, today, the vibe from Krystal was toxic, unkind, and lazy. Ash and Keenan are fantastic, patient, and helpful, so please use these talented, kind, thoughtful stylists instead. read more

I've been going to Floyd's for many years and have gone to lots of their locations, and have had my hair cut by many different hairdresser/barbers and generally I get the same cut and I have a good time and haircut. This time I was going in for the same cut for a funeral and the dresser( Yvette, may be spelled different) walks in either from her break or the beginning of her shift and she seems short with me and frustrated about what I was asking for and eventually just starts cutting with a "whatever" attitude. I don't get haircuts often and if it ends up bad, that's ok I'll just wear a hat for a week. She just made me hate the experience instantly and I'm not a big talker so I'm not asking for a hour of trading life stories but be a pleasant professional that works with clients to capture the wanted cut.
