I asked for a 5 on the sides and for some reason my barber gave me a 2 on the sides. I showed her a picture and clarified the length I wanted before we started but that wasn't enough. I asked for a haircut today. I told my barber and specified how much I wanted to cut off, and I went from have medium long hair to leaving with short hair with literally zero length. I confirmed a 2:30 appt today. Showed up at 2:30 and was told they had me down for 2:00. No biggie. I told them it must have been my mistake and I left. 5 minutes later they called me saying their 3:00 opened up. I show up at 2:55 and the lady explains that she gave my spot to a walk in. Incredibly disappointed in the level of service at Floyd's. I recently moved to Denver from California and was in search of a new barber. If you are used to a typical barbershop, steer clear of this place. My entire cut from sit down to payment was 8 MINUTES LONG!!! I asked for a fade up the sides of my hair and the "barber" just clipped on the 2 blade and ran it up both sides of my head. I then asked to take "just a tiny bit off the top, .25 inch max" and she took off over an inch! I didn't have the heart to not pay because that's not the person I am, but every morsel of my being did not want to pay a penny for this cut. It seems as though this is more of a Supercuts than a barbershop. Buyer beware!! read more

Went in with a perm gone wrong (my fault) and Jenn spent so much time helping me salvage my hair! I was so bummed for ruining my hair I was wearing hats all the time and thought that's what I would have to do until it all grew out. She saved me by strategically cutting off the ends that needed to go and also gave me great advice on how to take care of my hair. I'm in Denver for a wedding. Thought I could get some clean up. But my fade was done poorly, so now i need to get it fixed somewhere else. The main issue is that they don't wash your hair or blow dry it. They work with some wet hair which may not look bad while in the salon. But then your hair dries at home and you start seeing all the errors. read more

Had a GREAT experience here and will definitely be back. I made a last minute appointment at 3 pm on a Tuesday with Marissa for a long layer cut, and her work exceeded most of my prior haircut experiences. I have thick, curly hair and wanted a trim that would put some shape and health back into my hair without compromising the length too much. She delivered! On top of that, she was just a joy to chat with, was efficient but not rushed with our time, and didn't pressure me into any extra services/products that I don't need. As a female, I was initially skeptical about getting a haircut at a "barbershop" but took a chance on a friend's recommendation and it was definitely worth it. Easily the worst Floyd's I've ever been to. Have received 3 haircuts and the only one that wasn't completely butchered was done by Clyde (thank you Clyde). The front desk is constantly dismissive to the point I think they have no idea what they're doing. When I was given an awful cut they offered me 2 free cuts as a reparation and now they "have no idea about that" so I can not redeem. Just all around a major disappointment. read more

The ambiance was amazing. The people were very friendly and lovely. The haircut is easily the worst I've ever gotten. After asking TWICE for a barber familiar with kinky (Black) textured hair, I was assured the barber would be able to accommodate and we set up an appointment. She was very pleasant, I didn't wait long, and I had a photo reference from the last time I got my hair cut. The second her shears touched my head, I knew it wasn't going to be pretty because I knew she was NOT familiar or accustomed to working with Black people's hair at all. Be mindful of this when considering this barbershop. Floyds, please match barbers and stylists with clients they're suited to work with, especially when they've addressed concern when making the appointment. read more

Great haircut from Michelle... much better experience than I expected. She's really sweet, spunky and fun but she understood my hair immediately - it's very wavy and can get curly if cut too short but she knew exactly how to cut it. Took a lot of frirzziness and dryness out and now it looks pretty damn perfect. Clean shop, great prices. read more

Staff was friendly and the person cutting my hair was very helpful with giving me tips on places to visit in Denver BUT I didn't think the actual haircut was to the level I would expect spending 30 plus. It was my first time at Floyd's and I was so incredibly pleased with the level of service from every staff member I was in contact with. Now here is where I cannot express how grateful I was that Jessie Q. was my stylist. I have very curly and frizzy hair. I've been to all the boutiquey type of salons and never once have they focused (or even asked) if I wanted to focus on revamping my curls. Jessie's level of knowledge blew me out of the park. He really guided me in the right direction to learn how to treat my curls properly and listened to everything I wanted. Overall just amazing experience. And GREAT PRICING! Highly recommend!!! Katy took care of my edges with a one high faded to a 2 with a slick backed undercut lined with a hard part. Solid work. I'm in-between stylists and have been needing a fresh cut and color, but have been putting it off because finding the right person I trust to not jack up my hair is daunting to say the least. Jesse did a great job, did not jack up my bangs, and had me feeling like he was a pro I could trust. I was so certain that I ended up getting the works... cut, balayage, and style. Tried to get a haircut. Was told the wait time would be 20-25 mins. After 45 mins of waiting, I went to the person behind the computer for status who told me I was really close. After another 10 mins, I walked out. This was my 1st experience with Floyd's. Given that I had close to an hour waiting, I was able to observe the place. Doesn't seem very old school to me. And they don't have great customer service skills. Be realistic with your time estimates. If you don't understand how long things will take, then you should overestimate vs. underestimating the wait time. read more

Absolutely amazing! I have crazy, out of control curly hair and Jesse makes it look amazing!! I think all curly haired folks can agree that it's hard to find a barber/stylist that can work well with curly hair, especially the first time that barber/stylist sees you! I just walked out the door of the Union Station Floyd's. I needed a haircut for a funeral and I needed to nail it. Sean Stone, my barber/stylist, absolutely crushed it! I not only got the haircut (and beard trim) I needed, but Sean absolutely went above and beyond in talking me through all my style options.
