What a great introduction to Fire Island. This was my first stop off the ferry from Sayville. This spot has everything you want for a small time breakfast stop. Friendly staff, quick service and great food. I look forward to stopping by again when in Cherry Grove.

Homemade muffins yum. Awesome spot a bit pricey well worth it. Sitting outside was relaxing. Coffee on point. Fresh fresh fresh. Cash only so make sure you have cash on you, honestly on the island if your staying you should carry cash it's a lot easier.

Thee place for breakfast in the Grove. Great mix of big personalities, locals and tourists- and the muffins are to die for.

There are so many stories tied to this place, including its role in the beginnings of the Fire Island Invasion. It's one of those spots that actually means something to the community. I come to Fire Island every year with my friends, and while I've never tried the food, that's honestly not why people come here. Everyone shows up for low tea, which is basically happy hour starting at 4 PM. It starts picking up around 6, and that's when it hits. You'll see every gay from NYC who's on the island for the week, the weekend, or even just the day. The best part about tea here is that it's your first real look at who's around. It's super social and makes it easy to connect with people. If you're going with a group, lean into it and do a themed tea with coordinated outfits. Nothing is too corny or off-limits. That's part of the Fire Island tradition. They also host drag shows during the week with Bubbles, which are always a good time. And you really never know who you'll run into. Over the years I've seen Milk, Billy Porter, Andy Cohen, and a bunch of Broadway people just casually there. Of course, you have to get the punch. It's a mix of multiple liquors and juices, and somehow no one ever finishes more than one. If you do, just know you're signing up for a brutal hangover. Only downside is how packed it gets during tea. It can take a minute to get a drink, so just go in expecting a little bit of a wait.

Really nice atmosphere. The brunch menu is a little small, but the options are pretty good. My…read morefriends and I got a carafe of mimosas, they were $42 so not bad. There's basically a full bottle of prosecco and triple sec in it, so extremely strong for a good price. My brunch burger was pretty good, the burger was a little over cooked but overall good. The garlic fries are fabulously seasoned and very crispy so I loved them.

I was happy to see that 21 Main became something else because I always liked the building. The ambience is beautiful and I love a restaurant where you feel like you're walking into somebody's beautiful home. When I arrived, it was a lbit busy as it was lunchtime on a Friday. I thought to myself oh great, because that usually means the service suffers but that didn't hinder the service at all! The waitress was very attentive! ordered a plain cheeseburger, a glass of wine and an iced tea. When my food came out, I asked for an extra glass of water because I have swallowing issues with certain foods and without asking she brought me over a carafe of water! Upon writing my yelp review,, I noticed there are multiple locations for this restaurant and I can see why they were able to expand ... the food is really good.. burger was juicy and the fries were perfect Service 5/5 Food 4/5 Ambiance 5/5 Overall dining experience 5/5

My Biscuit Benedict was awesome, the Fried Pickles were great. The BLT and Chicken Sandwich were both very good. I'm not sure how many locations the have, but if they are all as good as West Sayville, I would highly recommend The Shed. Great job, keep it up and thank you !!!

I was planning on leaving then. I was a waiter once for many years, so I get it.. the tough, long hours. Some waiters have 2nd jobs.. The glares and side talk I received was so unnecessary. Again, I priorly asked the hostess and waiter if it was okay I sit for 20 min. Before they close. I feel like I want to puke now. Idc about professional service, or whatever it's called. I communicated that I would've found another place if they just told me that they're not taking sitters. Not nice. Never returning again. Edit: The reason why I felt like puking was because I was glared at while feeling bad about scarfing down my meal faster than I anticipated. Someone from the joint reached out (I presume the manager?).. said he witnessed it all. What a joke. -1 star

Jeanne waited on us. She was extremely friendly outgoing and kind. She answered any of our questions about the menu and made some drink suggestions. Our food was served very quickly and the portions are huge. My son had a hungry man burrito and I had the Mac and cheese short ribs. I took home my Mac and cheese short rib and I am on my 3rd attempt at finishing it! My son's burrito was so large I wasn't sure how he was going to get that in his mouth. He was able to eat most of it. The home fries were nicely prepared and seasoned well! Our drink glasses were never empty. I watched the staff and they were constantly engaging with customers. You felt like you were visiting a friend's home. I watched them celebrate someone's birthday, greet regular customers and every customer was given a warm acknowledgment. This place deserves all the hype it receives and I'm sad it has taken me so long to try it!

Had dinner here last week. The food and wine were excellent, as usual. The watermelon burrata salad…read morewas great, and the salmon and pork entrées were perfectly seasoned. We had fried banana cheesecake for dessert, which was also delicious. Our server, whose name was Regis, was friendly and prompt. 5 stars for food, ambiance, and service. 3 stars are for the awkward experience of being rushed at the end of our meal. 3 weeks in advance, we asked for a 7 PM reservation, and were given 7:15 PM, which was fine with us. On the day of our meal, the hostess, named Alfie, calls us at 6:50 PM asking us to come earlier, at 7 PM. We found this change at such short notice strange, but we obliged and did our best to get there earlier, arriving at 7:05 PM. One hour into our meal, at 8:05 PM we were ready to order dessert. We were surprised when our server Regis told us that they'll be needing our table in 15 minutes (at 8:20 PM?), and so we may have to finish our dessert at another table. We got our dessert and finished in time. When we asked Regis what the time limit was per reservation, he just said Alfie told him to relay that information to us, and Regis apologized to us for the rush. On our way out, when we asked Alfie why we were told that they "needed our table in 15 minutes" at 8:05 PM, she just gave us a scripted answer that all reservations have a 1 hr 30 minute limit. When I tried to explain that at 8:05 PM when we wanted to order dessert, we were nowhere near that time limit, whether we were going by our original 7:15 PM reservation time or at 7:05 PM when we arrived, Alfie just closed up and asked us if we wanted to talk to her manager, which we declined. She even made a rude comment asking us if this was our first time at the restaurant, and when we said we've been coming for years, she retorted "then you should know this is how it works here". She also tried to throw our server, Regis, under the bus by saying that the miscommunication was his fault. We found Alfie's behavior quite off-putting, and her lack of ability to realize her mistake, let alone hold herself accountable for it, disappointing. As was her impulse to just blame her fellow team members. All we wanted from her was an apology, which we at least got from Regis. We've never had a problem with the previous staff-member who handled reservations and seating. We understand Alfie is new and might not have been trained properly. But with this establishment charging $25 for salads, $40-60 for entrées, and $20 desserts, we expect more competent staff and to be treated with dignity. That said, we love the food here, the bay views are gorgeous, and with the limited options on the island, we'll just hope for better experiences at Top of The Bay in the future.
