Customer "service" is a joke. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are home-based out of Canada. They treat customers like we are there to serve them, not the other way around. A few months ago I switched internet provider. Since then I have not been able to get my cameras back on line. I have not received answers to 3 different support requests. I have not received a phone call from anyone. I call and they say they will send out a technician at my expense to "look into it." All I need are aimple instructions to get my cameras back online. They can't even do that. I switched to Fluent because the salesman did an excellent job of selling. However, once I purchased, he disappeared and customer service from that point on to today stinks. I was stuck in a 6 year contract. it seemed to go fine for like, a year, then suddenly, cameras started not working very good anymore, the doorbell cameras were falling apart, the batteries in the panel started ballooning, super poor quality equipment, then they said id have to pay out of pocket for all the equipment replacements which were going to cost hundreds of dollars, when they told me the equipment would be covered for the course of the contract - it wasnt. finally got out of this contract and im out of here quick. ive been bent over a barrel for 6 years with these guys. I moved from DFW to Southern Colorado. They expect me to install the system in my new home myself. Their closest partner is over 3.5 hours away in Denver. When I moved, I left the door sensors in my old home. They shipped replacement sensors to my old home this week and say, "we show that you received the sensors." NO. You shipped them to the wrong address. I only have 2 years left on my contract and was just going to buy it out rather than deal with their nonsense any longer. I have been on the phone (on hold) for an hour and a half just trying to reach an agent who will cancel the service. I hate this company. read more

I have had Fluent system for years! I always had good service, moved twice and they had no problem moving my system... .HOWEVER... We moved out of State and due to all of the system alarm pieces and size of our house, we decided to leave the system to the new owners. I have tried for three weeks to cancel our service...and everytime I call, oh we are sorry our system is down and we cannot pull your account.. this is after I stay on hold for over 30- 40 minutes. They ask for your name then go oh we are sorry but.. no explanation which leads me to believe they have been hacked. Fraudulent company. Reminds me of the gym memberships you just can't get out of. I bet if a person died, they'd still make the estate pay. I honoured my first contract and transitioned into a 2nd contract without my consent, waring or approval. I was also promised at the time of signing the first contract that I could get out of the contract because I am military and I move around every 2 or more years. I have also provided numerous military documents stating that I needed to move and I am still paying for 8 months at $ 45.00 or $360 total for a service I can't use. $360 in today's economy and on a pensioner's income is devastating. Fluent Home has a track record of hard-to-reach customer service agents and customers' inability to cancel contracts, according to multiple past and present customers on review sites. The CBC and the Alberta gov't has looked into this fraudulent company and it has been noted that the Albertan who owns Fluent Homes has scuttled and can't be found. How is it that this company is still able to steal from Canadians without recourse? Where is the oversight and the accountability from the very gov't agencies that are here to protect consumers? I have attempted to call customer service repeatedly for assistance and end up waiting over 30 minutes for a representative to come on the line and end up giving up when no one does - although I assume that is exactly the strategy of Fluent to retain customers who wish to cancel their contract. I signed my contract five years ago, never actually used the system, and wish to cancel my contract. I sent notice to cancel in writing via fax, within the timeframe outlined in the contract. No one from Fluent emailed or called to acknowledge the fax or confirm cancellation - again, I'm assuming another strategy is to just ignore a cancellation request from a customer. I was then billed for two additional months for monitoring after I cancelled my contract. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR FLUENT SERVICE - you will be highly disappointed. read more

As in Fluent Home Security? If so run away. If not Fluent out of Utah please ignore the following: No, no, no. May be a good company outside of Central Texas but here you are better off with a baseball bat on your porch. They are unable to provide service without threats from BBB in Utah, Austin and Dallas. Attorney General complaints in both states have been filed. Sad as we had high hopes for this company but they have told me over and over they can't get any technicians to fix, remove or install systems. We did, after Salt Lake City, Utah BBB sent a message to Fluent about our complaints, get a service technician to remove old system then try to install in new Georgetown home. Disaster... Didn't remove entire system from old home (an alarm went off after 90% of System was removed somehow- oh he didn't remove entire system Fluent initially installed). Did I mention the young man(a really nice kid but was unprepared for the task) had to make a dozen calls for help during process? Got to new house and just was confused. For some reason an existing security system panel wiring wouldn't work. Put 2 holes in new wall to put touch pad in. Okay but he couldn't finish process as there is something wrong with electrical connection. Hmmm. Fluent was able to jump right into much older ADT system and fit right in at older House so this really is perplexing. But technician was unable to complete installation leaving us with wires coming out of wall by our new front door. Left a huge mess and evidently doesn't think he will have to fix hole he created if this disaster ever gets done. We will not accept a large plate covering hole as he said would work. The kid was unprepared for the job. Not so much his fault but Fluent was trying to just get by. We have had this system since March of 2019 and it has been poor since day 14. Have talked to folks for dozens of hours and tried to be decent and come to a good conclusion. I uphold my part of contract (which magically changed to 60 months) but I get told for 4 months that Fluent Service can't provide any technicians to fix issues as they have no Central Texas help. All I want is all the stuff in a bag in new house to be sent to Fluent in Utah, I patch the holes put in my wall and my contract cancelled. Simple business thing: Fluent won't deal with issues as they are way over extended having 2 customers in Austin but no technicians outside of Dallas. Just cancel my contract and we go our ways with no ill feelings. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

***IF YOU CANT CANCEL - what they don't tell you - send a cancellation email w/ name, address, phone number and your secret word. TO MAKE IT OFFICIAL, end it with your written signature (I took a picture of mine and inserted it at the end). They won't cancel any other way...and they won't tell you you need it. It was buried in your contract you signed and didn't get a copy of.*** I'll keep it short - I had another security company install on 4/8/24. I was told on Fluent install, I was protected, even if someone ripped the panel off the wall. As the tech from the new company unhooked the panel, he told me to expect a phone call. There was none. It is now 4/28/24 and to this dateI receive daily notices my equipment isn't responding, but no one has contacted me to see if I'm alive. Fluent was called on 4/11/24 to cancel service. I was told all systems were down, they couldn't check any account - to call back next week. I began looking for an email address - absolutely none listed. They had an AI help box - I asked, it gave me the email address AND all personal info I needed to include to make it an official email. I also sent the cancellation email on 4/11/24. Becky responded and said they would work on it the following week when their system was back up. in 4/22/24, Becky told me I couldn't cancel without calling the cancellation number, which she provided. Since that time, I have a six minute call that went to voicemail in which I told them I was cancelling and provided all pertinent information. I have a thirty minute, a forty- five minute, an hour and a four hour documented hold times at that number. No one is monitoring. Friday evening, I called the regular Fluent number again and tried several extensions. None answered. I then tried the "I want to become a customer" extension and it was answered immediately. I went off. I was told every email I had sent since 4/11/24 did not count, because "it did not include a handwritten signature". If true, you could have told me ten emails ago. Part of my contract with them involved me setting up a secret word, in case they called or contacted me through the panel. That word was to prove who I was. That word was provided in each email. That word was my signature. They are a scam - delay and collect. If they refuse to tell me what to do with their disconnected equipment, I'm sure they'll come after me later. read more

Completed the contract after 3 years and called to cancel. Talked to a lady and she confirmed contract was satisfied and would terminate services. They kept charging my credit card. I called and they stated I had to give them a 6 Month advance notice, otherwise it went for an additional 3 more years. I told them I had called to cancel services and had it confirmed with their employee before terminating. They said just because their employee verified it, it did not cancel the contract. I told them a verbal contract is still good in Utah. I'm sure we will be going to court. read more

We have been with Fluent for 5 years and in the last 2 1/2 years the system and customer service has gone down hill. Customer Service and Technical service is 100% awful! They messed up our system so bad that they could not fix it over the phone and wanted to charge us to send someone out. They kept saying they would call us back after us calling them multiple times to get the same issue fixed.. They would never call back. Also trying to get someone on the phone is nearly impossible. We called today to cancel our account and they said we had a 3 year contract - We never signed a 3 year contract and besides that we have been with them over 5 years now!!! Are they really that dumb? They person on the phone argued with my husband and kept saying they were going to send someone out - We don't want anyone coming out we just want to cancel! We are now looking into an attorney to take them to court because they would not cancel our account and wanting to charge $$$$ to cancel. I am not happy with Fluent. I signed up with them and initially had some problems that were ultimately resolved. Then I heard from my former provider who offered me half price to come back to them. When the contract was close to being over, I tried to contact them 6 times to cancel my service. I was never able to speak to anyone. I kept getting told that I had to speak to a retention specialist, but they had to call me. I never got a call from anyone. I was then told to send an email, I sent an email every week for a month trying to get someone to contact me. I have never received any contact and they tried to continue to take money out of my account. I finally had to contact my bank with all of the info and stop payment as a fraudulent charge. If possible, I would give them zero stars. I agree with everyone else who says this is the worst alarm company. Do NOT do business with them. They claim to have 24/7 service, but they do not! On Sunday night, my father's home alarm went off due to a key fob overheating. After about 20 minutes of it blaring loud, the company called him and remotely silenced the alarm. However, it went off again, so we called their 24/7 monitoring line and after waiting on hold for a full hour, the call disconnected. I wish I could give ZERO Stars, terrible costumer service. I called fluent to schedule an appointment to service my panel that was showing issues back in feb 2022. after not having any luck with scheduling someone due to there schedule being full, we waited until a better time to call back. I called back today to get my panel serviced (it still is not working and we have been paying the monthly bill) now its OCT 2022 and i've been paying for service I am not getting. After an unsuccessful phone call to schedule someone to come look at my system, I requested to cancel the service. I finally get transferred to cancel service and the man handling my call was extremely defensive, told use we will have to pay a big fee to cancel, but we were paying for service we were not receiving so either way this company service is a waste of money. He ultimately ended up hanging up on my husband in rage. We called back 2 more times because it was unclear what was being done. We waited 30 min each to get connected, transferred, and the hung up on AGAIN! WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY! Most unprofessional company ever! Montero and Jarod only care about getting customers installed they seem professional but it's scam. Both reps knew there were issues with over charging on my card and that the front door sensor wasn't properly working. After four days of installation the front door battery sensor and smoke detector battery failed and beeps loudly and has been ongoing for almost 90 days. I've called customer service 3 times and have never received a resolution. Next step is an attorney. Not to mention I had to change my credit card to avoid being charged for service I'm unhappy with and the free service I was promised was a lie! This company sucks I've called and asked for them to come and remove this equipment months ago!! read more

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE OF FLUENT!! If I could give them no stars, I would. This is a terrible company. Very very deceptive business practices. DO NOT get roped into a contract with them or you will never get out of it. We signed a 36 month contract with them on September 7, 2018. Then over the course of the next year they sent a contract to me and said that I had not signed everything properly. When I read the fine print, it was an updated contract that would have locked us into and ADDITIONAL 5 years! When I called them out on this, the customer service guy was so ugly to me. Then we were told that to cancel the contract we would have to pay a portion of the contract that was left. A "portion". Not the full amount but a portion. We opted to wait until we were in our last year of our contract and when I called today to cancel and pay the "portion" that they had previously stated that I needed to pay, they informed me that I had taken an "installation phone survey" and in that survey had agreed to a 42 month contract. That never happened. Somehow, they are not able to retrieve my original contract OR the recording of the phone survey. SCAM SCAM SCAM. I have never dealt with a company that has so many different stories, shady actions and deceptive business practices. BEWARE OF FLUENT! I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State of Texas Attorney General's office. I am done playing their games. How many other people have they done this to?
