I've been looking for an honest AND reputable air duct cleaning company for months. Of course I came to Yelp for some assistance. We decided on Climate Doctors because of their reviews and the service history they have. So I made an appointment with them and it was a two week timeframe until they could fit in my schedule. Talking to them on the phone was easy and professional. They thoroughly explained the process and costs. For $179 they would clean 2 air returns and 15 vents. Each return additionally is $30 and $20 for each extra vent. Still a good price. The day before they emailed and texted me notice of the upcoming appointment. The morning of the appointment they actually called and said my technician was early. Even better. Then Carlos showed up. What a friendly, knowledgeable and professional representative of their company. He explained everything up front and walked through the entire house. He spent about two hours removing every vent and return cover - then cleaned them all out. He even showed us several vents during the process and more pics of before v. after. Strongly recommend getting an energy audit completed on your home, especially when it's complimentary, thank you, Paul! There were quite a few items that needed attention in our home. The technicians Justin and Fernando were solid. They arrived on time, did a great job, were polite, and were very clean. They took before and after pictures, which shows how much I needed the work done. We went with the insulation to ensure it was at least 18 inches, the duct sealing of the junction boxes and HVAC unit, and we had to reroute the bathroom vent. We even did the optional UV-C light, which makes us feel much safer and takes a load off, especially in this current environment of being conscious of germs and all. Climate Doctors is amazing and truly saved me from another Groupon based scam that tried to swindle me out of $1300 on a duct cleaning. I saw a $49 Groupon for another "company" and since I wasn't in a rush I figured I'd roll the dice, I mean it's only $49 right? Wrong! A certain unsavory individual that drives around the state (from Houston) scamming people in the name of being a veteran, he immediately started planting the mold seed (spore?) in my mind when he stepped in my house. Finally this guy looked into the drain pipe from the A/C evaporator coil he said he couldn't clean the ducts and had to do a $1300 mold remediation first that involved fogging the system. Being put on the spot is a psyop tactic these scammers used while also feining being nice , friendly, and endearing to you so beware. This is where climate doctors came in since I remembered them being a REAL company having already seen this yelp page. I called Climate Doctors immediately and explained the situation to Maria and she immediately explained to me why this was not an issue AND the chemical fogging process and chemical itself is only a $150 service if and when Climate Doctors actually needs to do it. The scammer drove off after 3 minutes of waiting for me on the phone. Paul came out the next day and did a full audit and he explained me the duct cleaning process in depth and was even apologetic about the prior day's experience since they care about what they do and how folks get taken advantage of by the cheap groupon. Paul is truly professional and took the time to hear my concerns and offer solutions based on my budget, and made recommendations on where he would start first or even a "If you do one thing" type of recommendation which was the R49 attic insulation. I also confirmed Paul's prices with another estimate from a legitimate company and Climate Doctor's truly has the best pricing. So far I went with the following products/services in this order: *Duct Cleaning (long due) *R49 attic insulation *Fresh-Aire Dual bulb UV-C Whole House Air Treatment System The duct cleaning speaks for itself, it seems to be often overlooked portion of home ownership maintenance, and should improve our energy output from our heat pump, and of course the air is cleaner. The attic insulation will pay for itself with these freezes and the extremely hot North Texas summers too, in addition to sound dampening a bit from the outside. The UV-C air treatment system was an investment due to their being health issues in our family and my own allergies and asthma. I do plan on adding the roof turbines and soffit enhancements before the summer heat approaches as well while saving up for these. ONE RECOMMENDATION to Climate Doctors: Train the vent cleaning crew on finding and resolving this issue encountered with the dryer vent. Had to hire another dryer vent specialist who used a snake camera and found an (unncessary) booster fan that was extremely clogged and wired in by the builder. Then had to find and pay a handyman to replace this with a piece of dryer vent pipe, but it seems easy enough to do DIY as there was an access panel in the bedroom closet wall, and the booster fan is only wrapped in place on the pipe so no cutting or welding or anything complicated is needed, just the time and calls I had to make to find others to take care of this. Not a complaint just a solid recommendation. Thank you to Paul, Maria, and the crew of Climate Doctors and I wish I had made some of these investments years back. read more

I keep getting asked to rate these guys, so here you go. I would not recommend this company, despite the many glowing ratings, they're not the worst out there I'm sure, but they're definitely a company of salesmen after as much of your money as possible. We had extreme heat issues in our upstairs living area that prompted us to find professional help. This was the ONE thing we wanted corrected, somehow through some complete miscommunication, we got the side attics insulated for the downstairs area. We also got talked into sealing our ducts, and were offered some "great discount" which still amounted to $60 a duct. We thought they were replacing the ancient duct connections, but instead some kid put on kitchen gloves and wiped sealant around each connection. Took all of 5 minutes, and I could have done it myself for $15 total. Really what made the whole thing months of frustration was communication. You can't ask this guy a question without him rattling off all of his awards and certifications, dude just give it to me straight. They never made an appointment on time. The salesperson would show up an hour late while I'm missing work waiting for him. The kids he sent to put in insulation would show up an hour early and woke up the whole house. This happened several times as apparently they expect their clients to act as middle men since the insulation kids didn't know what they were supposed to do so there were repeated visits of salesguy talking big talk and then sending the kids to mess up the job, followed by salesguy talking more big talk and sending the kids back to correct their job. We ended up having to pay the AC guy to clean our units afterwards since they were clogged with material. it was a whole lot of headache, and a whole lot of money and the upstairs is still blistering hot. I told him this and he wanted to sell me more options, but I'm done with these guys. read more

Find someone else to clean your air ducts. After speaking with a woman at the office and going over exactly what I was looking for, I booked a duct cleaning appointment with Climate Doctors. The two guys that showed up were nice and polite, but I had to pay upfront before they began, which I thought was weird. They were respectful of the space though and put drop-cloths under each vent as they vacuumed it. Notice I said vacuumed....that's all they did. They also only went up about 1 foot up from the ceiling so they did not reach the plenum (even though they told me it would reach without even knowing where it was located; it didn't I watched), which the woman in the office indicated they would. There was no actual CLEANING of the registers or ducts, just vacuuming, which I could have done myself for free. I also realized after the fact (totally my fault) that they didn't clean any of the returns. I even paid extra for the additional return that wasn't part of the plan I purchased. Now I see why this company is cheaper than competitors and wants you to pay first. read more

As I said before, this is our first home and we had it thoroughly inspected so we knew what minor things that would need to be taken care of. The garage was not one of them. I've gotta say, looking for a reputable company to clean your air ducts is tough. Some of the reviews are scary for other companies: reporting finding mold at every home, ridiculous upcharges, etc. Climate Doctors had good reviews with no horror stories, so I decided to go with them. Their website has a form you can fill out, which I did because I wasn't able to call at the time. Maria responded quickly telling me about their $189 duct cleaning special, but she also told me up front about any additional costs that were outside the special (it includes 15 vents and 2 returns), as well as the cost of getting the dryer vent cleaned. They were incredibly upfront about their pricing. They also include a free energy audit with every duct cleaning, as well as a fogging for mold. I knew that I had more returns than the special covered, so I knew I'd be paying extra, but I was alright with that. When I forgot to call and schedule (because that's my MO), Maria called me to make sure I had gotten their e-mail and to see if I had any questions or wanted to schedule a service. I did indeed want to schedule! But unfortunately, they didn't have an opening until the first week in February. I'm changing jobs and don't know what my schedule is going to be that week. Maria was incredibly accommodating, and said "Okay, we can squeeze you in tomorrow for JUST the duct cleaning and then when you know your schedule, you can call back and schedule the energy audit. Does that work?" Absolutely! My appointment was for 3:30pm, but Maria called me at 10:30am and said the crew was running very ahead of schedule and could get me in at 11 if I wanted OR I could wait until 3:30. I jumped at the opportunity to get it done sooner and they were incredibly punctual. They actually got to the house about a minute before I did! Both guys were very nice and professional. They explained everything they were going to do, including telling me that I had more returns than the special covered; they made sure I did want to do those two returns as well for the additional charge. (I did, of course.) My vents were FIIIIIIIIILTHY. I don't know that they've ever been cleaned in the 45 year history of the house. The guys worked quickly and efficiently. They used a drop cloth to collect most of the dust. They did a good job of getting most of the dust up, but the vents were so dirty, I expected to have to vacuum afterwords. They told me that I had a couple of vents that were moldy and suggested I get them replaced. They piled them up by the front door so I could replace them. I would absolutely use and recommend Climate Doctors again. The crew was very nice, explained everything, and NEVER tried to upsell or pressure anything other than the special I asked for. My house took just about 2 hours to complete (14 vents and 4 returns). My vents are so clean, so shiny. Oh! Maria will tell you when you schedule, but this is just a reminder: when they clean your vents, you then have to replace your air filter because of all the dirt and dust thrown around. Since we moved my appointment up so much, I didn't have time to get a filter beforehand. I told the guys that I hadn't the chance to get a new filter, but it wasn't a big deal. I'd change it out myself after they were done. I paid $1000 for duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. About a month ago my dryer stopped drying clothes and finally started shutting down in mid-cycle. I called and appliance repair person and the dryer was shutting itself off because the vent was completely full of water and clogged all the way through. Had to call professional dryer vent people and they said no way had this vent been cleaned out in the past 5 plus years and was such a fire hazard that he could not believe our house had not burned down AND WE SHOULD BE GLAD THE DRYER STARTED SHUTTING DOWN. Needless to say, I had to pay both those people and now buy a new dryer. I reached out to the company and got NO RESPONSE. We had Climate Doctors out to our home after many phone calls to various places for the best pricing. They were running a special: 16 vents and two returns for 189. All the other places were 10 vents for 199 or higher - up to $750! Darrell and Brandon called and wanted to know if they could come a bit early because they were finished from their last job - sure! They were professional, courteous, and went straight to work cleaning vents that had never been cleaned since 1996 (bless them!). There was only one vent with mold; they told us we could either replace it or wash it with bleach water (we chose the latter). It took them 2 hours to do 18 vents and 5 returns. They were thorough and diligent and pleasant to work with. I will definitely call Climate doctors the next time we clean vents (hopefully not twenty years from now ;) read more

called on sunday the owner (I beleive) Paul was friendly and helpful on explaining the process and equipments they use set up appointment for 12pm Monday. 12:15pm I called Paul to confirm appointment he said the tech was running late b/c of a previous job taking longer will be there no longer than 1 hour later. 2:30pm called no answer, call company no one answer 3:25pm Paul call back appoligizing about his tech sendin a second tech saying he'll be at our place less than 30 min 4:30pm still no one showed up we're about to give up at this point I called at 4:55pm he said the tech was around our neighborhood but having trouble to locate our place. 5:20pm the cleaning has finally started (tech was nice) took about a little over 1 hour to complete the good - my vent is cleaned on Monday like I original wanted to the bad - over 5 hours late!!! Paul did not offer any types of incentive of discount for being 5 hours late! and the tech did not screw the vent covers on tight enough few a left loose, the tech DID NOT clean the vent covers as they're still covered with dusts (so after he vacuumed and turn on the AC then left) all the dust blew back out of the vent and onto our carpet and furniture I will have to vacuum again today and clean the vent covers by taking all of them off .... never judge a book by its cover is correct ... their website says all good things about it and it have about 10~12 good reviews...let me be the first to say....they're clearly false if I didn't had to stay there to paint I would not have waited such long time. saying sorry at that point (5 hours late) just doesn't cut it.... another call today to Paul and emailed him the photos he appoligized again and offer a refund or sending out another tech to clean / finish up the job tomorrow we accepted the completion of the job for tomorrow........if everything works out we'll hopefully do business again with Paul (he seems really professional and passionate about his work/company) I hate to give a bad review but I'm only basing it on my particular incident.....will update after the job is completed tomorrow....
