Workers came to add attic insulation and attic batt insulation to my home. They had a four hour time window for completing the project however they rushed and damaged my ceiling by walking too fast and aggressively on ceiling joists to swiftly complete the job, cracking my ceiling drywall in multiple locations. I would understand as I am a licensed structural engineer. Before they were about to leave I had to remind them that I also paid for installing batt insulation, if I hadn't, they would have left. My request to the estimator of making sure not to add insulation over my exhaust vents were not communicated to the workers so I asked and they were not aware of this ask. They were nice and fixed the very apparent crack, but weeks later a second one formed nearby due to the worker initiated the cracking by compromising the ceiling gypsum. I did not ask for them to fix this because how I can prove it? No one has walked up there since but enough time has passed to leave doubt on how it was caused. I would not recommend them. read more

This company is negligent. I hired them to insulate my attic space and they fully encapsulated it with spray foam leaving no ventilation for the two combustion furnaces in the attic. They also failed to pull the required permits from the city or have the required city inspection after the work was completed. The city inspection would have advised me that their work was unsafe and not code compliant. This created a very dangerous situation as the attic is adjacent to my kids' rooms and the buildup of CO2 could have been fatal. Removing the foam was absurdly expensive and I had to replace both furnaces to make it code compliant. I am taking them to court over this matter as they were not willing to pay for the repairs required to make the attic safe and code compliant. read more

I used Green Attics to remove my old insulation in my attic and replace with new insulation. I had them scheduled for Wed. but they called Monday with an opening on Tues. which work out fine for me. They showed up on time, introduced themselves and went right to work. After they had removed the old insulation Able, the crew chief, had me come look at what they had done. Next they sealed around all the light fixtures etc. Again, Able got me and I checked their work. Then they blew in the new insulation, which didn't take to long. I did a final check and they were on their way. During the process, Christal, I believe that was her name, call to see how things were going and again after the job was done. Also, they salesman, Ian, called to see how it all went. I might add that their price was considerably less that the other quote I received. This company is really worth using. I'm impressed! Travis and his team were awesome! We originally contacted them to get a quote on spray foam insulation. After coming out he let us know that the current insulation was so good in our new construction home that adding spray foam would be a waste of our money. Instead he suggested solar attic fans which would help regulate temperatures and reduce our utility bills. They installed the attic fan, added cellulose insulation above our garage and decked 3 of our 4 attic spaces so we could use them for storage and did an amazing job. Plus they gave us a great deal. We ended up with exactly what we wanted and spent less than we expected. They were on time, nice and respectful of our new home, communicated great and always sent us the names and photos of the guys who were going to work on our job. I searched them on Yelp, read reviews, called and scheduled an estimate with Kim, and Thomas came out. He was friendly, efficient, explained the process well, and pointed out our bathroom vents were just laying on the floor of the attic, not being vented out the roof. He also stated they had been in business since 2005 which is good. His energy was really positive and we could tell he really wanted to be in a job of service. I received an emailed estimate the same day. It was a tough decision, as their pricing, process and information was comparable to another provider, but we ultimately chose the other provider because the salesman was the owner and they had been in the construction business for 35 years and had done many residential spray foam jobs, so it came down to comfort in the level of experience for us. I predict spray foam is going to be the future trend, as we were without heat for almost 5 days, even though we were fortunate to be on a school power grid and had power, during the Texas Feb. '21 freeze, due to the pipes freezing in the attic unit because we didn't get this done when we had our new HVAC installed in June 2020. I needed to have my radiant barrier that was installed over 10 years ago re-stapled and redone in some area. Their sales Rep, Kevin, came in and took a quick look at the project and gave me a ball-park estimate as to what it would take to perform the job. I also asked if they installed solar attic fans and he included those in the estimate. Kevin was on time, friendly, and very professional. The pricing was very reasonable and if we paid in full for the entire project they gave us a very good discount. The crews came in and knocked it all out in about 3 hours. They did a GREAT job!!! I can't rave enough about Russ and the work he and his crew did at our house. I called him in a full blown panic after receiving the highest electricity bill we have ever received ($700 in December). He showed up the next day, and much to my surprise, a water pipe had busted in our front yard, which I didn't know about until Russ knocked on the front door. Again, I was in a panic, and Russ came to the rescue. He was extremely professional and very reassuring. He turned off the water to the house so we could focus on the reason he was here. He even suggested a good plumber who I could call. He spent several hours with me going through the house showing me all the areas of concern and what could be the reasons why my electricity bill was so high. Our house has 2 different attics that were in desperate need of new insulation, which he made sure to stop and measure both to ensure he was building his quote off of the correct square footage. (This is a big deal because the other 3 companies I called to get a quote from all used the full square footage of the house and wouldn't correct their quote even though the attics don't span the whole house - its about a 1,100 sq ft difference.) The other companies I had come out only spent about 20 minutes with me and weren't even doing half of what Russ had suggested and yet they were at least 3x's more expensive. I compared the products and they were very similar. Upon asking these other companies why they were so much more, I was met with disdain and arrogance. I had already made my mind up that I was going to use Russ, but the other companies lack of customer service made Russ shine even brighter. The attention to detail Russ has over some of his larger competitors is jaw dropping. Russ pointed out that I needed to have my fireplace sealed, my sky lights sealed, and the huge bay windows in the kitchen sealed. They played a significant roll in why our living room was always so cold. The other guys didn't even bother with that. I am happy to report our April electricity bill was $117. I am sure this won't be the case for everyone, but it's a massive improvement for us. Russ is very knowledgable, professional, customer driven, patient, and wants what is best for the clients he is serving. Like I said at the beginning, I can't rave enough about him. Russ and Green attics are the best. I obtained 4 proposals for attic insulation (less than 4 inches of existing) and easily selected GA to perform the job. They were the only company who pushed us to air seal the can lights, ducts, and highly recommended the insulated attic hatch tent Work was completed on time and they used 4 additional bags of fiberglass without an up charge. Results noticed immediately - AC ran for 3-4 hours to get 69 degrees at night (sleeping temperature) and the first night at 95 degrees the AC unit hit 69 (from starting temps at 75) in about an hour. However, the business has been in communications to discuss further in order to resolve any issues, but facts matter and it is not fair to claim the job was not done by a company when it was. My house was built in the 50s and had thin, original insulation which wasn't cutting it in this heat so I started shopping around for some quotes on bringing it up to code. The project lead (Juan) came out within a week or so and wrote up a large bid and then talked us through what would make the biggest impact and what was more optional. The quote was competitive with others even before a discount that was automatically applied. They were able to then complete the job quickly and there is a very noticeable difference in how cool our house is staying. Highly recommend this company but you may have to try calling a couple times, it does seem to be hard to get someone on the phone. read more

Every month since I hired Russ to audit my home I have PUT MONEY IN MY WALLET. I was in the middle of contracting with SolarCity for a $35K solar system because I was ready to stop paying Oncor $350+ a month to cool my house. We had done everything to make our house cooler including thermal curtains, solar screens and redoing our HVAC system. Not a single service made a real difference so we were just running the A/C like crazy fools to get the house down to 76 degrees. We thought the next step was to cut out the electric company by investing in solar power. Due to the audit, we found our house was air tight and our HVAC system was in order but our attic wasn't doing its job. Therefore we invested in new insulation, thermal foam barrier, extra eave vents and doubled the fan exchangers in our roof. The difference was amazing and even my wife was amazed that the guest side of the house wasn't 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. For the last two September bills, our electric has been under $225 for the Summer.
