His recommendations were honest and technically sound. He spent considerable time with me discussing the installation issues. Of the four bidders, I felt that Ted had the best understanding of the job. They replaced an HVAC unit in my home. I needed a 4 ton unit which was not available for a week. So he upgraded to a 5 ton unit at no extra charge (this was immediately available). He had told me that he would start work the day after signing the contract and he kept his word even though the 4 ton unit was not available. He and his staff are technically competent and ethical. Of course our AC went out on the hottest weekend day.... When it was 117 degrees. Flush King came out within 90 minutes and Chase very professionally diagnosed the job. I spoke to Ted at Flush King after having one of the big companies in town tell me I needed a new compressor for $3600 and I asked Ted for a second opinion. He called me himself and had a tech to me in an hour. Turns out I did NOT need a compressor. Marshall, the technician who came out, went thru my entire system and found that it was merely a small condensation valve and line that needed to be cleared out. He completed that job in just a few minutes and stayed with me until the house had cooled down from 88 to 78 degrees. This service was a small fraction of the cost of a new compressor. Professional, prompt, caring. How refreshing it is to have an honest vendor tell you the truth and do the job with an eye on long term relationships and not short term profits. In the meantime Ted checked the parts availability and would have saved me a lot of money if that was really the problem. I will definitely use again and recommend this company for your HVAC work. You never want to pay for a new A/C or compressor - but if you are having to pay for something you want to trust that your expert is solid and above board. I did not have a good experience with this company. They are very prompt and responsive but I felt a little swindled by the service I received. I needed a kitchen sink faucet replacement, and potentially a valve replacement. I received an estimate the day before, $349 for a faucet installation if I provide the faucet. Valve for $129. Kitchen faucet plus installation $749 (which I assumed included the potential valve replacement, because why would I want them to supply a $400 faucet instead or ordering my own?) I asked them to let me know if the valve in fact needed replacing and I didn't hear from them until the work was finished. There was no confirmation or photos sent of what faucet would be installed or the cost prior to installation. So they installed the new faucet and tried to charge me $749. I said there must be a mistake and they were like alright we got the faucet on sale we'll knock off $30. I paid $719 for a new kitchen faucet. Granted, it is a nice faucet but it is unnecessarily nice. read more

When questioned, the owner Chris was argumentative, dismissive, and claimed his business expenses justify passing inflated costs onto customers. We called Flush King Plumbing to inspect and repair our water heater since we had no hot water in our new home. They charged us over $500 to replace a valve, claiming it was the cause of our issue--but it didn't fix anything. Then, they discovered another valve in the "off" position. Instead of simply turning it on, they told us they couldn't because of a supposed "leak" between the two valves. Their solution? Charging us $4,000 to replace an entire copper pipe inside the wall. When I asked for proof of an actual leak, they refused to show me any water damage--only a picture of green buildup on the pipe, which they insisted meant it was leaking. Skeptical, I called another highly-rated plumber for a second opinion. The new plumber confirmed there was no leak. They turned the valve on, checked the entire length of the pipe with moisture tests, and explained that the green buildup was just residue from the original installation, not a leak. Sure enough, our hot water was working immediately, and there has been no sign of moisture since. TL;DR: Flush King Plumbing misdiagnosed our issue, overcharged us, and tried to scam us into a $4,000 unnecessary repair. We will never use them again and strongly recommend others stay away. read more

Oh man, where to begin - last year, about a week after buying our new home, we woke up to our kitchen soaking wet. Some pipe had broke in our upstairs bathroom and we were in trouble! Luckily, Tom at Flush King was able to get to us in a half hour, quickly found what the problem was, and was able to get us back to being leak-free. Tom also recommended great water remediation specialists for us that had us dry in just a few days. Since then, we have had the Flush King team back out to our home a few times for smaller issues. All I needed was a clog removed, but the whole transaction felt like dealing with a used car salesman. Their guy was talking about how just because our toilets had overflowed (an hour prior, mopped up immediately) they needed to get a multi-person cleanup team in there, or my whole family was going to get sick. (But conveniently, Flush King could provide that team!) He kept saying he'd run a camera down the pipe and confirmed we had "orangeburg pipe" and that meant all the drainage pipe on the property needed to be replaced. I later checked a Tempe-published map of where orangeburg pipe could have been used in the city, and it's not supposed to be in our area of town. So is it not true that he ran a camera? Not true that we have orangeburg pipe? Did he just not know what he was looking at? Not a good look for the Flush King tech no matter what. But all these skyrocketing costs were okay, because, he said, my renter's insurance would cover it all! Probably. I'm not saying for sure this tech lied about anything. But I am VERY sure I don't trust him. In the end I said to snake the pipe and whatever else is included in the $350 estimate I was given. That anything beyond that, we'd be going through my landlord's plumber. And at that point he suddenly ran out of time to talk to me further. He finished snaking the drain (which worked), charged me the $350 and left. Two stars rather than one because the drains now work great. But not happy about the attempt to charge thousands for unnecessary work. Edit following a reply from Chris M., owner: "The only person that lied here was you not disclosing you are a renter pretending to be the owner." At no point did I pretend to be the owner. "Along with not informing the homeowner of the clogged main sewer line until after we shown you on the camera snake of the failing Orangeburg sewer line." They never showed me camera snake footage. And I repeatedly attempted to contact the owner prior to them doing anything. Eventually I did reach the owner and had him on speakerphone talking to the tech. "The technician even had you next to him while he made the video showing you the condition of the Orangeburg sewer pipe." I was never shown a video or any camera footage. The owner's behavior is really creepy to be honest. I'm probably not going to waste my time replying to whatever rant gets posted in reply to this. I would just urge everyone to stay away from this business. read more

When I stated it seemed high since materials to replace the entire tiled shower was around $350, he responded: "You're requesting an estimate from a licensed heavily insured plumbing company. Replace damaged main sewer line. I had an estimate for this project when we had a blockage last October by Chris the owner. He worked for a long time to make sure everything was clear. In December we had a blockage again and this time a young man arrived. He cleared the blockage in 7 minutes and asked for $375. He also gave me an estimate to replace the damaged sewer line that was double what his boss had told me. He was pushy and told me I should have it done right away and they could do it tomorrow, and asked for a check. I told him to leave, then he called me 2 hours later to ask if he left a piece of expensive equipment outside (he did). I called Chris, the boss and asked him why the estimate had doubled, so he said that the problem with the sewer line had moved. I got a different company to fix it for much less than half their price, with a ten year guarantee. I think the young guy wanted to take advantage of an old and disabled man. read more

I needed to replace an old gate valve at the side of my house with a new lever because I didn't have a lot of faith it would work in an emergency. Tom gave me some good advice about the other pipes and plumbing nearby, some of which have been problematic in the past, including an old pressure relief valve from the 90s and a hose bib which leaked when I attached a garden hose. I also wanted levers to shut off any part of the system in isolation. He did a beautiful job replacing this with quality copper parts. He also tested the water pressure and adjusted it to 65 psi so the system was not over-pressurized. Earlier this summer I had a ruptured pipe and a geyser shooting in the air at the spot where the city water connects to my yard irrigation system so I'm happy that it's now at the correct pressure to minimize future issues.
