Our yard service sent a text message while we were out-of-state in July -- water was bubbling from the ground near the water service entrance. Desert Water came quickly and noted a plastic pipe was run underground between the service entrance and the sprinkler control valves, this needed to be replaced with copper. I approved the work and was assured there was no longer a leak. Two weeks later our yard service once again texted to note water bubbling from a cracked sprinkler valve -- the valves were connected to the pipe that Desert Water had replaced. I called Desert water, who stated they do not work on sprinkler systems. I had my yard service replace the cracked valve. Here's the rub: It seems very likely Desert Water's activity caused the valve to crack, or at minimum did not note it was leaking during their visit. I had quite a high water bill because of this. read more

I've used Yelp Projects a few times now and I'm always impressed with how helpful it is. This time I needed help fixing a leak in my home's exterior main water line, and Yelp helped me find a few reliable plumbing companies. I received several responses with quotes, and Desert Water Plumbing and Rooter was the first company to reach out. I contacted them around 5 PM on Wednesday, and they were able to schedule a free estimate for Friday. Dan Burke showed up right on time. He was professional, efficient, and easy to talk to. Like the other companies I spoke with, he recommended repiping as the best solution for the long run. He gave me an estimate for the project and also mentioned that if the office couldn't schedule the repair on Monday, he could stop by to do a quick temporary fix to stop the leak and then come back when they could finish the job. I really appreciated that because I don't like wasting water. The price Dan quoted was also very reasonable compared to the other companies. After thinking it over, I decided to go with Desert Water Plumbing and Rooter and called the office to schedule the appointment. They weren't able to do the repipe on Monday but scheduled it for Tuesday. Dan did come by on Monday to help temporarily stop the leak. Then he and his team came back Tuesday morning and started the project. Everything went smoothly. My house now has a new pipe, no more leaking, and it feels great knowing the issue is fixed. I was in a rush so they did their best to quote me over the phone based on the inspection report and Google maps overhead. But to be safe we decided to have them come out. They sent someone out promptly. Then they sent their other guy out to run a camera line. They discovered that despite being under the house a few feet they could line it without ripping up the floor - for a good price. They also offered to work with the title company to get paid out of escrow. They did not charge me for the initial quotes. Had a leak out front that we could not identify. Not a landscape leak and City of Phoenix came out and it wasn't their leak. It's the pipe that goes from water meter to your house. Homeowner responsibility. Called Desert Water 7am this morning and they had a team out to the house by 11:30 led by Mike P. They assessed, advised what they may or may not find once they start digging and provided verbal estimates for each option based on finding. Once they dug down about 2 feet they found the leak, made the repair and refilled the hole and swept up. Great job. Made additional recommendations. Job complete in about 1.5 hours. I cant say enough GOOD things about this company! Found them using a "service request" here on Yelp to have a water recirculation pump installed. They were prompt to reply to my request, we able to quote me fairly and accurately and were able to get me on the schedule for install in a timely manner. I'm not going to lie, they were the cheapest quote that I received but also the most interactive and were very responsive to my inquiry and questions.
