I have an Alienware M15 R7 and received the 2 red, 3 blue issue. Jason let me know he could not service my laptop because they are backlogged with work. He did, however, walk me through, step by step, what to do to check and diagnose the issue from Friday - Saturday via phone calls and text messages. Had a problem with one of our desktop computers recently. Dell helped troubleshoot but turns out they mis-diagnosed the problem selling us on a new motherboard when it was really a power supply issue. Jason is INCREDIBLE. It can be really scary choosing a computer repair business with all of the so-called experts out there, but I felt pretty confident calling Jason after seeing his YELP reviews. I'm so happy I did! My husband's laptop crapped out (blue screen of death type deal) just days before a huge work conference and we needed it repaired FAST. So you know those days "when it rains it pours"? Yea. I had one of those last night in the HEAT of midterms at PSU and just when I thought I couldn't have a more exhausting night of studying my computer froze up and refused to reboot properly. My MacBook pro got the "grey screen of death" or the "flashing grey question mark folder" - not really sure what is the real name but essentially after working with an Apple Care lady over the phone testing reboot options with no avail, I began searching handy dandy Yelp. I actually had sent a message to "Mac a Wish" or something like that but he informed me he was out of town for the rest of the month but boy am I glad he was because I found Jason at Flux Computer Repair! I also got about 7 other quotes from top rated local computer repair shops and NONE of them suspected the drive cable like Jason did, all were almost positive it was a failed hard drive. Another factor why I chose him over the others! Jason was the fastest response to my Yelp quote request and called me once I responded with more details about my situation to set up a drop off time the next morning! (Talk about great service already) Drop off was super easy and Jason was extremely pleasant to work with - combo of understanding my student situation, friendly and professional. He had a feeling he knew what went wrong with my hard drive and set out to fix it. Ended up not being my entire hard drive (like other technicians said it was) which was a huge relief! I'm a freelance writer and blogger, and, needless to say, am pretty dependent upon my laptop. So imagine my chagrin when, one morning, I tried to fire it up and get to work, only to find freezing screens and a variety of malfunctions. I ran my usual diagnostics (I'm not completely computer illiterate), and couldn't solve my own problems. I own a small business and I have been for many years our IT person. All of my knowledge comes from Google-ing our computer problems and finding answers that way. My computer was horribly infested with a few viruses and he was able to diagnose, remove and protect my hard drive and return the computer in a timely fashion-!! I had a critical issue with my laptop on a Sunday morning, during a snow and ice storm, and Jason took care of it and had my laptop back in business within hours. He is the consummate professional. Here's some basic life advice: for your personal/business computer repair, don't call the big box or name-brand companies. Just because they wear matching polo shirts, that doesn't guarantee better service or expertise. What you need is "a guy." Jason is that guy. I've used him for all of my Mac repairs, and he's been fantastic. Then, a couple of weeks ago I reached out to him to build a PC for editing big 4K VR video files in Premiere Pro. He crushed the project, and put together a custom setup that far exceeded my original specs and will last for a long time. (Our target was future-proofing to 10K video.)
