We picked mission beach specifically to ride the 100 or old roller coaster and we wrre not disappointed. It was $16 for us both to ride 1x each and it was fun. Its old. Its wooden. It creaks. And then said " we are short staffed and due to that we do not have employees at the rides once they get here at 12:30 then you'll be able to get on the rides" I looked at my 10-year-old and said OK we'll go walk the beach and get a bite to eat until they open up. Guess what the staff never got there! Honestly, he thought it was funny when he told me that we weren't going to be able to get on rides until the other staff got there. There were a few rides like the mini dipper and the carousel. But who buys wristbands to get on a couple rides and then get on the bumper cart. If that's the case then I would've just bought individual tickets. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THE PARK WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS USUAL!! I had to keep looking for staff to let us on rides and then even then I wasn't able to get on every ride. I paid for a wrist band for myself and my daughter thinking that we were going to be able to enjoy the day but we were not. I do want to point out that I'm a single mom and low income and this was supposed to be something amazing for us. $100 to Belmont Park is absolutely nothing but for me it is. And just FYI, I a lot of people kept leaving the park upset. But for them, they didn't purchase wristbands. We waited till after 5 PM hoping that as the shift changed employees would come and open up all of the rides, but that never happened. I was hoping to get my money back for the wristband, but because the employee at the counter was so aggressive I was honestly afraid to go up and ask for a refund. I'm hoping Belmont Park will make this right and provide my daughter and I with an opportunity to return to Belmont Park at no charge to us and be able to get on the rides.

When rolling up you may jokingly remark that the dry, rocky landscape looks quite Martian. Straight out of a scene with say "Captain Kirk fighting the Gorn Commander in Star Trek". Then you pass through Ocotillo, California, and spot saucers with colorful lights on them, traffic cones covered in alien sketches, and a man named Coyote sitting outside on a lawn chair in front of a vessel with a plastic bubble above his head. This is Coyote's Flying Saucer Retrievals and Repairs Service, a UFO junkyard featuring several life-size saucers, many of which can actually be driven around once Coyote is finished with his handiwork. To make the scene even more extraterrestrial, Coyote has decorated the lot with signs reading "Landing Zone," a van and some old RVs with an alien dummies inside. Add skeletons half vaporized in the backs of trucks. This is needless to say not for everyone, but there are a lot of people into this stuff. Coyote loves to share his passion for flying saucers with visitors and will typically allow his new friends to take a spin in his cart. He also occasionally screens drive-in movies like ET and the X-Files, projected onto an "asteroid" Well its actually a huge boulder that he says the aliens "dropped off" for him. At no point was there signage or staff to communicate the wait time, leaving us standing in line with no information. This lack of transparency and service made for a frustrating and unacceptable experience. I lost a good 30 minutes of my day, and on top of that, I had to tell my 7 year old that we could not ride a go kart today and left extremely disappointed your location. Which by the way, is not easy to get to and it is definitely not in the friendliest part of town. A long drive, a long wait, indifferent customer service and no go kart riding made for a forgettable experience. I hope you take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements to ensure future visitors receive clear communication and better service. That said, if I were rating the overall experience based solely on execution today, it probably would have been closer to 2-3 stars. We rented the "Sports Simulator" booth and received very little instruction on how the games worked. Some games required using a golf club, while others required using the actual ball, and there wasn't much guidance on which was which. On top of that, the simulator frequently failed to recognize the ball. Eventually, we were moved from one simulator booth to another, which worked better and at least kept our boys (ages 9 and 11) entertained. We also weren't sure how food and drink service worked. We ended up going directly to the bar to place our orders because we didn't know the intended process. Again, a little direction would have gone a long way in helping us enjoy the full experience. The drinks were excellent, but the food was just average. My biggest suggestion would be to provide guests with a quick orientation or post simple instructional signage in each booth. A poster explaining how the simulators work, how to order food and drinks, and any other important information would make a huge difference. We ended up spending a significant portion of our rental time trying to figure out the process instead of enjoying it. Overall, I think this place has a lot of potential. The facility itself and the remodel is gorgeous, and once the operational details are ironed out, I can see it becoming a fantastic destination. Had my kid's birthday party here, and honestly, everyone had a great time. The laser tag was extremely fun for the kids! Man, I had forgotten how much fun laser tag is until I saw my kid and her friends playing. Then the party room was simple, but served its purpose really well. Our party hostess, Karrina, was really great with the kids and made sure the party kept moving along. I think what I liked the best about the experience for the party, was that our hostess walked the kids around to the rides and through the arcade so they could familiarize themselves with the layout of the Boardwalk. As I was talking with the adults, we were discussing competitors like Bowlero and Lucky Strike and how unreasonably priced it is for a family of four now a days. Just the arcades there are so expensive! Here, the kids were able to make their tokens last for hours and walked away with some fun prizes too. I hope the prices never get ridiculously high here. I grew up going to Parkway Bowl and the Boardwalk. I am so happy that the accessible pricing has remained. Additional shout outs to MC and Noelle (staff members who were very helpful and attentive).
