Me and Josh, for a long time, understood that I didn't fit within the majority of all patients he sees. A true outlier and an anomaly. Probably his most challenging case. Josh is great for "cookie cutter" patients, which means the majority. This is what Focus MH is set-up for. Limited time slots. He is such a perfectionist, that he tries to be on time, every time. It is unrealistic. This is MENTAL HEALTH/ILLNESS. There is a, per patient, time limit. I have always wondered about Josh's "patient load". Like any relationship, our journey together, had run its course. It was a "good run" of many years. I had to roll through the changes Josh kept making to force me out. He felt like he failed me. He did and did not. To be fair, Josh tried everything he could to help me and he did in different ways. My situation changed, that placed Josh in a compromising position. I had to move on (no other choice). Josh got very nasty towards me at the end. Scoffing and mocking my situation. Labeling. His own private life challenges, were applied to me and my situation. I was ALWAYS completely open and honest. The "little goody to-shoes", ran to his supervising MD's (NP's and PA-C's are NOT Doctors). You have to keep this in mind. Not even a goodbye after all the years on our journey. I have NEVER lied to you, like you did me. Even making stuff up, along with his staff, that never happened. Just bizarre. All that happens, is that, we as patients, are forced out to find another provider. One doesn't grow, if it is all mundane, clinical visits. Josh tried very hard for me and I thank him for it, but "went dirty on me" at the end. It was a complex situation. Josh was frustrated that I wasn't ready to taper on 2 separate appointments (around March or April 2025). There was NO rush. Why? He didn't even consider (nor put together), that my mom passed away in late January of 2025. Just 4 months after my dad passed away. I was extremely close to my parents and their major battles. You knew the tremendous sacrifices I made for them. An honor. Shame on you. You lacked INTEGRITY with ME Josh and you know it (at the end). You slowly boxed me out from Focus MH. The passive-aggressive moves. The lying. I caught you in one lie. I asked if Danica still worked for you (around March, as I didn't hear from her anymore) and you said yes. Then I asked a few times more and he said she isn't. She is living in another state. I know this. She does her work remotely. Josh KNEW I wouldn't agree to individual therapy, in order to stay with him as my provider. Danica was with me a year and a half or so prior to Josh coming on board. He didn't respect that connection we had. She was ALWAYS a source of light. Josh IS a great, holistic provider for ALMOST all cases. He is tremendous, but not for me. He only lied to me (at the end). He QUIT on me, but it was time. It's about fit. We no longer "fit" anymore. I had to "air this out" because of the way everything went down. I arrived at 8:50 am 10 minutes before my scheduled 9 a.m. appointment. When I checked in, the front desk person asked if I had completed my paperwork. I thought I had, but when I checked, I had not. I immediately told her I could fill it out fast, pointing out that there were patients ahead of me in line who still needed to be processed before my appointment time. She told me I would not finish in time and that I needed to reschedule. I pushed back and said I could complete it quickly. She refused again, with no exceptions and no attempt to work with me. She said there was no way they could see me and that I would need to come back in a few weeks when an opening was available. I drove all the way across town for this appointment. A 10-minute buffer before my slot, with other patients still ahead of me, was more than enough time to complete a standard intake form. Instead of offering any solution, the front desk shut it down immediately. This is not a one time thing. If you read through the reviews for this place, you will see multiple people describing the exact same experience with the front desk staff. The pattern is clear. Misdiagnosed: I was really hopeful and tried taking my doctor's recommendation even though he doesn't listen to my concerns, at all! I tried giving it a second chance after I was not happy after my first appt at this office, and I'm regretting it big time! I should've gone with my first instinct, and never went back! I cried my eyes out to Eric Alexander about my symptoms and he focused on only 1 symptom I talked about, and diagnosed me based off that 1 symptom, ignoring all others, even tho they clearly point to another diagnose that he's ignoring. He diagnosed and prescribed me another medication after the first 3 prescribed medications were not helping! Probably because I don't need depression medication, but that's what he wanted to put me on. Now, a year later, still struggling because I'm not on the right medication and he prescribed another medication today that will basically make me feel like a zombie, which by the way, doesn't start working in your system until a month, and he didn't even offer any relief in the meantime until that starts working! So here I am again, waiting for yet another medication to start working in my system for another month while I risk my job, my marriage, my life, because I'm miserable every day dealing with these symptoms! The fact that he prescribed me a different medication for a different diagnoses, tells you right there that he misdiagnosed me the first time and likely is again! Even though I'm telling him what I think I might be dealing with, but refuses to at least give me a trial run on that medication so I don't waste any more time. This is the last time I waste my money and time on this place, and I suggest you find another office too! They don't listen to your concerns and you will likely be waiting years before you get put on the right medication! Excited for my first appointment with my new doctor! read more

If I could give zero stars I would, and this is based solely off of the front desk staff just like many of the other reviews. My primary Doctor Who is in the same plaza sent a referral to Focus Mental Health to evaluate me for ADHD. I got a call from them to schedule an appointment, but I missed the call, called back and left a voicemail. Basically played phone tag for a few weeks. Today, I finally called again, the front desk woman (I'm not going to call her a lady) asked me for my name and bday three times then finally asked what I was calling for to which I responded i was referred for an ADHD evaluation. She said they only treat ADHD, but do not evaluate or test for it. I told her she could look me up by a different last name because sometimes my maiden name pops up. I also told her the referral was from over a month ago. She found it and told me they tried calling me and I didn't respond. Clearly, I did not see the voicemail. I responded " so you have my referral, but I can't make the appointment then because you don't do the ADHD evaluations?" she told me I would have to go to a neurologist, once I responded by telling her my physician referred me to them and she just kept telling me that I would have to go to a neurologist because they don't evaluate for ADHD at this office and that would be a neurologist that does that so there would be no point in making the appointment to this office because they would just refer me out to a neurologist and then I would have to come back. I asked her if she could refuse the referral on her end since clearly my physician has been referring people here for ADHD evaluations even though she states they don't do that at their office and she stated no. She told me to have my physician refer me elsewhere. I was really hoping to go to this office because it is in the same plaza as my physician and less than a mile from where I live. Obviously, a mental health solutions office would offer more than ADHD treatment , but I cannot imagine receiving any kind of treatment here other than poor treatment from an office that talks to people like this and just denies referrals, tells patients there's no point in making an appointment with them, and tells people to look elsewhere. I read the other reviews and it looks like every other bad review is based off the front desk staff here which is very unfortunate for the doctors and the patients because obviously they have to deal with those rude and miserable front desk people, all without the doctor even knowing I had my physician send me a new referral and I was able to book an appointment with Arbor Wellness right away and they were so professional and kind unlike the woman here. read more

Summary: at least one of the doctors are great (Huntzinger) but the office manager, Rachel, needs to be terminated immediately. I've been a patient here for nearly four years and the front office is generally unhelpful, but this is typically the case anywhere in medicine - front office workers are underpaid and overworked, and you get what you pay for. However, I referred someone close to me to get care here after two years of convincing and persuading. They had a great initial visit with Huntzinger and were waiting in the virtual waiting room for their follow up appointment a few weeks later. After a long wait (40~minutes), they called into the office to ask if they could reschedule because they'd been waiting a long time and needed to go on with their day. The receptionist told them that they would be charged a $50 no show fee. Clearly not a good practice, or at least a poorly communicated one, as no one can be expected to waste their entire day waiting for their appointment to start just to avoid a fee. When the office manager, RACHEL got on the phone, she was incredibly condescending and rude, saying that a $50 fee would be charged, like it or not. I called in to clear up the issue - there's no reason to charge people when the doctor is tied up with a patient in crisis - and spoke to RACHEL. I had thought the person I referred was exaggerating, but RACHEL was truly awful. She interrupted me several times, asked for private patient information, and HUNG UP on me to call the patient! She said "I just spoke with her and thought I cleared this up, I guess she didn't understand, I'll call her myself" *click* She then continued to call the patient over and over, leaving at least one voicemail, badgering them into getting them to apologize. Truly disgusting and manipulative behavior by someone who has NO business speaking to customers, let alone patients with mental health issues. After she hung up on me, I called back and asked to speak to RACHELS manager. The receptionist put me on hold and after 5 minutes, came back to tell me that she would have to transfer me to RACHEL first because RACHEL needed to be the one to transfer me to her boss. Yeah, right. I informed the receptionist that I'd be happy to come down there and talk to RACHELS boss in person if she was going to try to hide her mistakes by messing me around on the phone, and got a call from one of the doctors right away. I was assured we would never have to interact with RACHEL again. Even while on the phone with the doctor, RACHEL was continuing to call my referral multiple times, badgering and harassing and trying to convince that she had done nothing wrong! It is incredibly obvious that RACHEL was trying to hide her awful treatment of patients from her bosses. If you're going to be an asshole to people at work, 1: don't, and 2: at least have the spine to own up to your mistakes, hiding just makes you look even more pathetic and miserable. Doctors, investors, owners - you need to get a call recording system deployed ASAP. Whoever was dumb enough to hire RACHEL probably isn't smart enough to get one of these systems installed, but hopefully you have some help, because another one of these type of instances will likely result in a lawsuit. I will continue to be a patient here because of the quality of one of the providers, but I'd recommend all new patients to escalate any issues directly to their provider as the office manager RACHEL will do anything she can to be rude, difficult, and cover her ass while making your life hell for no reason other than she's a disgusting, unpleasant, ignorant human. read more

This is a weird change of opinion but here it goes. Several weeks after I left the previous review I received a phone call from them asking if I was still needing an appointment. I scheduled an appointment and received intake forms via email and my appointment went smoothly with no issues. The care provider is very helpful and the staff is easy to work with. I still maintain the opinion that trying to schedule the initial appointment was unnecessarily difficult and stressful and really took much longer than it should take but the quality of care since then has been very good. read more

I strongly encourage anyone considering this place for mental health support to look elsewhere. While Dr. Alshaikh was a good provider and seemed genuinely competent, the front desk staff are unprofessional and speak to patients in a demeaning manner which is especially unacceptable in a mental health setting. Yesterday, I accidentally missed my telehealth appointment by about 30 minutes. I still logged in just in case the provider was running behind and immediately called the office to explain what happened. I acknowledged that I was late, understood there may be a fee, and made it clear that I just wanted to reschedule to ensure I didn't miss any medication. The woman I spoke to responded with an unnecessary attitude. She told me I had logged in and just needed to wait, as if the provider might still show completely ignoring what I had already explained. When I tried to clarify again that I had been 30 minutes late, she abruptly replied, "Oh, well that's why." I had already said this at the start of the call. She made no effort to help reschedule or explain next steps just condescended and focused on proving me wrong. Today, the staff manager called and asked me to repeat everything again, only to dismiss my concerns by saying, "Some patients just don't like the answers we give them." That level of deflection and lack of accountability from staff is deeply concerning. Mistakes happen, I fully own being late but I expect to be treated with basic respect, especially by people working in mental healthcare. After reading other reviews, it seems like I'm not alone in this experience. It's unfortunate that management doesn't seem to take these issues seriously. I've chosen to take my care elsewhere because dealing with the front desk here is more stressful than supportive. No one seeking mental health treatment should be made to feel belittled or ignored. read more

This was my very first appointment with Jennifer. I was previously seeing a different psychiatrist who no longer was able to do outpatient so I got recommended to focus mental health solutions. I got a call on Monday after I put in an inquiry over the weekend and they were able to get me in as soon as the next day. My first appointment was with Jennifer and she was absolutely amazing. I was really nervous coming into this appointment because I felt very comfortable with my last psychiatrist and this felt like a big change. However, Jennifer made me feel so comfortable and she really got to know me Along with that, she was able to give me a good plan for treatment. As a woman, I felt extremely safe and comfortable to talk about anything in my life with her. Overall, I had a really good experience and I recommend her 1000 times. read more

The stars are mostly for the front desk and scheduling. I've been coming here for a year and like my Psychiatrist but never had a good experience with the front desk. Each appointment I went to and that's at least every 3 months, the front desk girls are always rude and do not have compassion. For health workers who work in a mental health office, you would think they are understanding. Doctors are good, but customer service is very poor. It's very hard to get an appointment even though they do mostly telahealth. They rarely answer the phone. In addition, their telahealth app you can't message the doctor in case of emergency. I will no longer be a patient due to all these issues, the last straw being charged a no-show fee due to technical issues with their telahealth app. read more

I do not recommend this clinic. You have to wait at least 1.5 hours even if you have an appointment. They really don't value your time; however, if you are late, they will charge you $50. Additionally, the doctor only gives you 10 minutes during the appointment. This was my experience during the "first visit". The 'clinic' in Henderson runs like a factory. They assign a Resident for a year and then there is no psychiatrist for a month, had three good psychiatrists then a 'cold fish' and they wouldn't change providers. They were helpful for three years but something changed. read more

Over two months Pharmacy said no Prescription and office stated Prescription sent. I contacted Insurance and was advised that medication no longer carried. All of these bad reviews are blowing my mind because my experience has been quite different. Last year in February I was discharged from a drug & alcohol rehab and went to the meadows outpatient program here in Vegas. There, Dr. Still was the lead psychiatrist and he was absolutely amazing. There's a lot of people who play a part in my sobriety & he was one of them. Extremely understanding and knowledgeable about addiction. After I was done with my outpatient program, I am now seeing one of his colleagues that is in the office and he is amazing too. I have never had long wait times, they are very quick with prescriptions, I have never been cut off during an appointment. My whole life I have had bad experiences with psychiatrists & I can confidently say that the people that work in this office have changed my perspective. Years I have been trying to find the right medication that works for me & they found it. I am extremely happy with my care here. read more

Made an appointment and it was confirmed the voicemail and text from their office on the Friday before. I drive across town on a Monday morning and I'm told no uncertain terms that I am "too old" to be seen by the practitioner. Excuse me what the hell is that supposed to mean? After certain age you just don't offer care? Well this provider didn't wanted patience of a certain age and mine didn't get caught in the initial screening. In their text to remind me to come and in their voicemail I was reminded of all the consequences if I didn't show up on time most definitely are fine would be incurred and charged to my card and I may or may not be seen in the future. I quietly and very un-Karen like told them they are to suffer the consequences for bringing me across town and then humiliating me in front of a room full of patients. Shrug of the shoulders. DO NOT waste your time going to Focus Mental Health Solutions. You will NEVER see the Attending Physician, only the Residents (who are all knowledgeable and kind). In my two years of being a patient, I've had at least 4 different Residents handle my care who would discuss my treatment with the Attending Physician. I was going for ADHD and was put through a myriad of different medications. When none of them worked, they referred me to a Neuropsychiatrist to further diagnose me with ADHD (even though I was already diagnosed) so I could be prescribed Adderral. They not only referred me to a cash only ($1,300 for initial visit) TWICE, they referred me to a Pediatrics office (I am an adult)... When I called multiple times for new referrals to places that take my insurance (and see adults..), they said they would send them, but NEVER did. I finally took my care into my own hands and was prescribed the medication necessary. When I went to my last scheduled follow-up appointment, I saw a different resident and told them I received the medication and started treatment. He relayed that to the doctor and the doctor DID NOT come in to tell me this, he had the resident relay to me that I was no longer allowed to be a patient due to getting help elsewhere. Again, NOT ONCE did I ever see the Attending Physician nor did I have continuity of care. I DO NOT recommend this back alley operation they call Focus Mental Health Solutions. read more
