But the difference in care is so drastic! I was floored at the kindness, attention to me and not the clock. Everyone is a part of your team cheering you on to the next goal of strengthening your muscles and rebuilding confidence that you will meet your goals. As an elder, I wasn't expecting much. Usually you are treating as if you have lost your ability to look ahead after healing not moving into your new future. This is the place for comforting, moral boosting and overall knowledge of how to care for my needs. Treat yourself to what you deserve. And in my opinion this is the gold standard for after surgery care.

It was wonderful working with Physical Therapists who understand runners and cyclists both physically and emotionally. Every session is different and begins with questions about what has happened since the previous session. At that point, the Physical therapist adjusts the plan for the day if needed. Sessions with Andrea and Cindy (Madison, County Line location) included exercises plus hands-on treatment for specific areas including massage, rolling, suction cups or whatever is needed. With their education and decades of experience they identified spots that needed attention when I did not realize those spots were the source of problems. The initial examination was very thorough and documented to identify progress. Nesin's holistic approach really worked for me. I had two sessions at a large facility and knew the impersonal cookie-cutter approach was not a good fit for me. I am so grateful that I switched to Nesin. The NTS facility is not large and overwhelming but still has tremendous resources. The staff made sure I understood how to do specific exercises at home and were very reinforcing when my progress showed that I had been working. After sessions I felt spoiled and rewarded sitting with TENS (mild electrical current to reduce pain) and either ice or heat. I am incredibly grateful for the NTS team and highly recommend them.

I've been a patient at Sportsmed for 25 years. I am there so often that I've asked for frequent…read moreflyer miles and my own parking spot (no to both). Without going into detail, I have a disorder that causes significant orthopedic issues. I've had 3 1/2 new knees, several other new joints and more procedures than I can count. When I register, I just tell them that I'm "keeping the lights on". I have received nothing but amazing care from all of the doctors that I've seen. They work with me to determine what my best option would be. And that's what I really like - options. Years ago, when discussing a knee replacement, Dr Janssen said "you'll know" when it was time for a replacement. He was absolutely right. I always echo his words to anyone considering a replacement. I know that I need neck surgery but Dr Johnson said "let's kick the can down the road" - when I start having symptoms, we'll talk. That's unusual for a surgeon, their job is to cut. Dr Chin knows my aversion to pain medication and still has been able to keep me going. Dr Clayton has experience in plastics - my knee that's had 2 1/2 replacements looks better than my other knee. I could go on and on about each of my docs but there just isn't enough space. Sportsmed has several locations in the area. I'm actually closer to the Whitesburg office but I am willing to drive to Athens or even Decatur to see one of my docs. I cannot say enough about the care I have and continue to receive. I would be remiss to not take this time to thank everyone at Sportsmed. You all have given me the ability to live the life that I want, and frankly, deserve. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I had to ask the doctor (Dr. Javier Reto) would it clash with my current medication because he gave me no information. I am a self-pay paying person and for $250 this was a complete waste of time and actually increased my stress level dealing with a pinched nerve. It is so unfortunate that the African-American community is unheard in medical spaces when we say we are in pain. My x-ray was done wrong because the attendant never asked where my pain was. I was then scheduled for an MRI that now will cost $560 for a separate visit. Then I was also told to get the results of this MRI, I would have to schedule another $250 visit to get my results. I was shocked!!!I am left in pain and in agony and unheard. This is a doctors office that does not want to hear you or even want to see you. Huntsville hospitals please take sports med off of your list of recommendations!!!!! If we are just going to go to an office where they won't even listen to you or try to help. This felt like an urgent care appointment and lasted seven minutes. I will never ever return to this place and I am going to try to look for other places that are a bit more inviting and helpful so I can return back to work. Even when I asked when could I return to work, the young lady said she didn't know because of course the doctor gave no notes. I stood at the reception desk crying, getting most of answers from the receptionist. It was humiliating and embarrassing.

I was there to see Dr. Sabatini for a 930 appointment. I made it to the back at about 10, but didn't mind the wait too much. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. After going back, they x-rayed my ankle. The X-ray tech was friendly, so taking the pics went pretty smoothly. Next I met Ryan, who is Dr Sabatini's assistant. She was extremely nice and easy to talk with. She came across as genuinely concerned and wanted to help relieve my pain. She diagnosed my issue via the X-rays. Ryan, then consulted with Dr Sabatini, who came in and examined me and confirmed Ryan's diagnosis. (Bone spurs/flat feet) Dr Sabatini was very attentive and I never once felt rushed. He gave me some recommendations on how do deal with my issues. He suggested I get a steroid shot in my ankle to ensure the bones spurs were the reason for my pain. If the shot worked, then surgically removing the spurs would work. Dr Sabatini administered the shot. He carefully marked a spot for the injection, then sprayed a freezing compound on my ankle. The steroids were administered all along the bone spur location. My ankle was feeling better before I got to my car. Now I have to follow up with Dr Sabatini in about 6 weeks. I certainly think he is a great doctor and am looking forward to seeing how long the shot gives me comfort and to visit the office again.

He takes time to explain everything and educate you on your condition. He doesn't do cookie-cutter treatments. Instead, he tailors a treatment plan to your needs and if they change during a session, he pivots so you can get the most out of your time with him. Best of all, he is kind, compassionate, attentive, and was understanding when my anxiety got the better of me. Now, I'm on the road to recovery. I look forward to physical therapy in a calm inviting space. I know I'm getting the best care possible from the same person every time, and that person has my best interest in mind. Good doctors are hard to find, and he is a gem. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Jack, and I can't recommend him enough.
