What can I say? This is a cute little family run shop! My Girlfriends and I stopped on our first day in Pacifica on our way tot Muir Woods (30min drive north). We went for the convenience but we always try to support the small businesses. As we walked in, we were greeted by someone who was obviously a local regular. We made our orders and the people behind the counter were quick to strike up conversation. We were made to feel like we were a part of their community and not just tourists. All of the coffee fare is the same you can get most anywhere at a nominal price. They have some tasty pastries. I really enjoyed my Jalapeno ham and cheese croissant was really good. We ended up going every morning of our weeklong stay in Pacifica. They made us feel so welcome. We will for sure return when we stay there again. read more

I was at the beach and decided I wanted coffee. This place was literally across the street. It's a little shop but very cute. They sell really cute art. As soon as you walk in the menu is there on the walk and you can see it. The staff there was very helpful. The coffee was really good. If you're in the area this is a great place to stop by. I prefer small coffee shops they are way better then those big chains. Definitely worth trying. read more

This is one of my favorite coffeehouses in pacifica! The only thing that stops me from coming here everyday is it's location, it doesn't quite fit with my commute. The staff here is very friendly and fast. If you come here enough they will more than likely remember your order to! I only come in here about once a week but they always remember what I get. My favorite thing to order here besides the coffee is the veggie bagel. Me and my wife ask for it to be served open faced (a little extra) and split it. Thier specialty drinks are also very good! I also like thier chicken salad sandwich on dutch crunch. I really wish they had a coffee card here is all, as much as i come in it would be nice to get that nice feeling of satisfaction every time i fill up a coffee card. That is really my only complaint though - this really is a great coffee shop. read more

Came here last Saturday, we passed by it on our way to the Dog Surfing event. On our way back I remembered that I saw a lot of people earlier having breakfast and that it must be good so I said we'll stoy by for food. So it was about 15mins before they close. The guy, I think he's the owner, didn't seem enthusiastic that we came in that late, he reminded me that they are closing and basically given us about 15mins to eat, because we were sitting outside and that's why we had extra time before they pick up the chairs and put it away. Since we were hugry, I told him that it's fine and we'll be quick. We ordered BLT, Veggie Sandwich, and coffee. Nothing extraordinary about it, price was a bit much but I figured, hey it's Pacifica. I am giving this a 1 star because or the guy's attitude and also because as they were cleaning up, the guy was just simply using his bare hands to put the bagels back in bag, probably to serve for the next day? I just didn't feel good about it. I mean sorry, but I didn't see him wash his hands and at that point they were closing the olace so he has been touching a lot of stuff, putting things away, and cleaning. read more

I hadn't been here in years since I started going to Bay Coffee / Kizler Coffee / Intertwine. Now that I'm looking for a new good espresso place in Pacifica, I stopped in here. It's very convenient since I usually park at the Pacifica Community Center when I surf. It was reasonably priced and a decent double shot. It's not as good as Bay Coffee was, but that's hard to match. The woman who took my order was very friendly also. I will be back. This might be my new place. read more

Highly recommend this small family owned coffee shop. Food and coffee are consistently delicious. The owner, Jon, is great and will remember your order if you visit regularly. I honestly expected more from this Java shop in Pacifica. The bagel attach is mediocre to say the lease. The cream cheese is 3.50 that sits at room temperature and to be honest doesn't taste like its valued or some high end cream cheese. Avocado is great , and 3.00 for microwaved bacon, probably not the best. And the bagel was good but I assume they don't make their bagels . But after stopping to look around at this place it's up because it's a place where the locals hangout. T I say the locals deserve a better menu that's reasonably price. Love the fact that Fog City Java is close to the beach. That fact plus the simple fact they exist at all in their location are some of the few positives about this business. The coffee is only average at best. The croissants appear to be good but the flavor and texture is below average. They do not provide free Internet. They charge for debit card and credit card transactions. Their prices are more than others places. About 20% - 30% more for the same thing. Their hours of operation are comparatively restricted. Positive points include : ONE (1) minute walk from the beach sand. You can see the Ocean if you stand up. Table outside to enjoy the morning sun. Mexicali Mocha is good enough. Quick access to / from Highway 1. While Fog City Java is not the worst place I feel that even the Starbucks on Linda Mar Blvd presents a better value. Even though it is farther from the beach I would visit Beach Monkey Cafe if I was looking for a quality cup of coffee in a well rounded business. But FCJ is beach local and if your expectations can be managed then Fog City Java may be right for you. read more

Awesome local coffee and sandwich joint very close by the main beach in Pacifica. While it is less then a block in, off the beach it's a quarter mile or so north of the main beach parking. There are a couple of 30 minute spaces in directly in front which is fine if you are just grab and going, otherwise you'll be around the corner in that surface lot, or in the street a bit down. A not too shabby third choice would be a leisurely stroll down the beach. There is both inside and outside seating. There are a selection of tables/chair combos, and small counter section near the window. The outside seating is the more comfortable option, but can be quite chilly on a north bay morning. Better in the late morning preferably when the sun's been out a bit. The coffee beans are rather plain jane-no exotic organic free trade limited edition ultra rare beans just your standard mass produced roast. There are no our overs, but there is nothing wrong with the latte's or specialty drinks and the espresso isn't bad at. The donuts are not made on site-they come from the donuts store the same family owns over in daly city, but they are fresh everyday. The sandwiches are made to order when ordered and are quite popular with the locals which pretty much are here everyday. Pricing is pretty fair by area standards-both the basic coffee and a sweet will be in the two dollar range each, thus a coffee and a sweet will come in at slightly less then 5 bucks. More of course should you chose a latte/cortado/cappuccino/mocha/etc. Sandwiches will run you six to eight bucks depending on choices made. The service is of the order at counter and wait for the call out,made somewhat easier by the intimacy of the place.They actually prefer you to get a cup, get your coffee and then pay if you are just going for the basic cup. It's a small, very local, and extremely cozy place to get a cuppa joe or tea. read more

Just moved to this beautiful Pacifica neighborhood and was recommended this place by our wonderful Realtor. We've been here twice already and haven't disappointed. The coffee is delicious and my wife loved her vanilla latte. We will certainly be coming here more often to get our yummy coffee fix. Oh and the lox bagel and bagel selection are great too. With the tree trimming in front when I was in town, the entrance to Fog City was enshrouded in mystery. But with a little help, I was able to find my way. Not too crowded at 10:30 a.m., and a reasonable price for a cup of house coffee. I was able to camp out in the corner to work awhile, though they don't offer wi-fi -- to their credit. The sandwich menu looks promising, so who knows what lunch will bring. And the back wall offers books for the browsing while you sit and sip. An awesome local, non-chain coffee spot! read more

This place is just what our neighborhood needs - it is a welcome anti Starbucks! The staff are friendly (especially no nonsense owner Lena), they have a great selection of donuts, bagels, and there's always a friendly hoard of neighbors hanging out for a chat. I always have a coffee, with a wheat bagel and lox on my way to work for only $7! My only criticism is that they close early. I think they would make a fortune from the kids and parents coming out of Cabrillo School. Plus it means I have to drink the bitter excuse for 'coffee' from Starbucks at the end of the day. Decent little cafe in Pacifica. They do bagels and sandwiches, along with an okay selection of tea and coffee. Their hours are super funky (closes at 1:30pm), but things could definitely be more expensive. There's outside seating for the sunny P-town days, and there's never too much of a line. This was the setting to one of my first jobs as as a teen. I won't critique on that experience because I wasn't a fan of one of the owners (too gossipy). But till this day, my whole family still goes here and the new owners are so nice and friendly. The atmosphere is calming and I especially love how there is a jar of dog biscuits for the neighborhood dogs that come in. SO cute! The coffee drinks are great, their self serve drip coffee idea is ingenious even though only regulars really know about it. Their food items are consistent and Fog city is smart...they used toget all their baked goods from Mazzetti's on Manor which is hands down the best italian bakery I've ever been to. Great in/out door setting. I agree with the last reviewer, I'd much rather come here than Starbucks; the greatest part is you know who the money is going to! read more

I can't say anything nice about this place. I almost didn't stop when I drove up but I thought I shouldn't judge a book by it cover and the Yelp reviews were so good. I almost turned around and walked out when I opened the door. But I still wanted to give it a chance. So ordered my cappuccino and headed to the beach. 2 sips and the cup of swill went into the garbage can. I've had a lot of coffee from a lot of places and only ever thrown one of them away before. Make that 2 now. I honestly don't understand what the appeal of this place is. It wasn't the environment that's for sure. It's like a crappy little business park deli location. And the coffee, well we covered that. The sadest part of this whole experience is that I could have spent my money elsewhere and would probably be enjoying a nice hot cuppa right now instead of starring into my phone when this lovely beach is in front of me. read more

I'm so grateful of this deli to exist in Pacifica. It's a great choice to come here and pick up food when spending a day at the beach, going for a hike at the back of the valley or just for quality food. The Deli is located conveniently next door to Pacifica community center. Park your car and walk to the deli to pick up your yummy eats. I love this place; It's fed me & my family healthy breakfast &/or lunch when I didn't have time to prepare food. John is wonderful. Fog City Java is like the Cheers of coffee shops where you walk in and everybody knows your name! My Grandma was a regular (before her passing) and had quite a community-base here. She became friends with a group of other regulars and became one herself about 12 years ago. She was even part of a book club based out of Fog City Java. I am not a coffee drinker, so I can't be a judge on that aspect, but the tea was decent. It serves more as a hangout for a good group of people, and I like the crowd. The owners have always treated everyone well, and the staff is friendly. I have never had anyone working there who rubbed me the wrong way.
