The roastery and shop is in the typical industrial type streets of ssf. There's 3 spots in the front of the shop otherwise street parking nearby! It was my first time there and the barista Joey (sp?) was super friendly and helpful. I was clearly in need of caffeine and their menu has so many options of cold and hot drinks. She gave me a sample of the cold brew and I was sold! She asked if I was open to trying something with chocolate and ended up making me a cold brew with oat milk and sugar free chocolate from santa cruz. It was so good! The chocolate didn't add any sweetness, just pure chocolate taste, yum. I typically drink pour overs/drip coffee or flat whites, but I'm glad I took her recommendation and will have to come back to try their whole beans. There's no place to sit so it's truly a grab and go type of coffee shop. They have a Dogpatch location in the city, will have to visit it sometime read more

Last week I got a chance to try ikon Roastery. It was a bit tricky to find but if you're looking it's on the left hand side of the large building. I was looking for some espresso beans and the barista shared with me four beans to choose from. I was tempted to get Carl of the fog at first but decided with welichu wacku. I also got a shot of the beans I purchased to give it a try and it had a lot of flavor. I was very impressed with the quality and service. They barista was very knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance felt industrial with the equipment in the background. It was nice to see where your beans are getting roasted. Overall would recommend them for a try if you're looking to support local. read more

This place is a little hard to find, despite the sign on Linden. It's hidden amongst the auto shops and the entrance to a Recology. There are some spaces up front that you can park. Inside there is not a lot of space and it really is part of a warehouse. But there were some chairs if you want to hang around. The barista was friendly. The selection is strictly just coffee. Do not expect pastries here, but if there was anything else.. I guess I just missed it. The latte art is lovely and the barista made it look effortless. Came to this place for work reasons trying to check out Roasteries and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by Marcel. He was very welcoming and super friendly. Its a bit hard to find and looks like a warehouse but don't be alarmed and walk in! We tried the Espresso. Cold Brew, the Peruvian Pour Over, and the Mocha Shooter. We also took home a couple bags to make them at home. I will definitely be coming back for more. They also go to the local farmers market and do espresso bars. I arrive there at 9, door is locked. Opening hours are 7-12. Some guy bikes up and sees me waiting but doesn't say anything to me. Finally got ask him, "do you work here?" He says yes. I have to then ask, "isn't it supposed to be open?" In no rush to open the door, he says "oh ya, I guess it's kind of late. We are short staffed it's not my fault". No apology, no letting me know he's going to open up. read more

Tried their booth at the CSM Farmers Market this past weekend and ordered a latte. The staff was friendly, so one extra star for that but that's about it. The wait when the line was short to receive your coffee was over 15 minutes. I asked for extra sweet and when I finally tried my latte when I got back to my car it was terrible. I avoid coffee booths at farmers market for this reason. Wish I could get my money back because nothing is more infuriating paying for a mediocre drink with bay area prices. read more

Visiting on a vacation and we found this sweet spot on Yelp! I got the an almond milk latte, my boyfriend got the nitro cold brew. Love their coffee beans. Order their whole been coffee regularly but for some reason their website is out of whole beans and i can't get an answer as to why. If it's back in stock i would advise anyone who brews their own to get some for their home. read more

Ikon is the best! I wasn't much of a coffee drinker, until I had the whole milk latte from here! Both Cameron and Alex are great! Super friendly and pleasant all the time! I asked for a suggestion and Cameron suggested the whole milk latte or the oat latte, I love milk so I went with the whole...needless to say, I'm hooked! I was looking for a local coffee wholesale for my bakery shop. One of my former colleagues recommends Ikon coffee roastery. I had great experience working with the team lead by Marcel. I visited both their roastery in south San Francisco and Farmer's Market in Burlingame. The staff are very passionate about the craft of coffee from sourcing, roasting to brewing. Was browsing for new coffee spots and I stumbled upon this place in Yelp. I tried ginger turmeric latte which sounds like a pretty unique drink and it didn't disappoint! I sent my husband for some last minute beans and 2 tumblers of hot coffee because we ran out at home and wanted to try the local roasters. I've actually had IKON coffee at a farmers market in the city and remembered it being pretty good. When my husband came back, he said it was a cool spot. He sampled the nitro cold brew and said it was awesome. He also mentioned that the staff were nice and gave him a free cup of coffee with the purchase of a bag of beans. He ended up with two cups of different pour over coffees in our personal tumblers. All was good. Then I tasted the coffees...BLECK!! I immediately spat it back out. Something must be wrong! It tasted like sink water. I poured the coffee into a clear glass and the color was such a light brown that I would've guessed it was green tea instead. (Or what you get when you soak your coffee cup in the sink before washing it.) The second cup was slightly better. At least Drinkable but this made me VERY nervous about that bag of beans. Luckily, when I made a cup of pour over the next day, it tasted great. And it was the common shade of dark brown water. Phew!! Money not wasted. Whoever made the coffee there must've either mis-measured something (twice) or really not know how to make a pour over coffee. It's a little worrisome, so definitely try your coffee while you're still there!! I hope to swing by for some nitro cold brew one day. read more

I hate to leave a mediocre review for an independent roaster, but the coffee beans were just not good. Bought some Carl beans, which were billed as medium/dark; they tasted more like light roast to me. Additionally, they were really stale. The date on the bag said they were over a month old at purchase, but they tasted even older than that. They made sour espresso with very little crema; pour overs tasted dilute and sour with no visible degassing (usually means old beans). The service was great at least -- that deserves at least three stars. Maybe you'd like this place if you're into light roast coffee. Most (all?) of their coffees are light so perhaps they turn over more quickly. read more

Love these folks. Super approachable people who really care about the coffee they sell and put out. When you manage to find them and stop by, make some time and stay a bit to talk with them--they're really eager to share things with you and likewise hear what you're all about, doesn't have to be about coffee. Definitely a spot I visit regularly on my rotation, more so for the company and conversation--coffee just makes it a big plus. :) read more

I came here during my most recent visit to San Francisco and I was very pleased. I honestly think it's one of the best roasters in the Bay Area; definitely the best if you're staying near the airport. The barista was really friendly. I ordered an iced latte and asked her to put a little bit of raw sugar in it. She was very concerned with making sure she put in the right amount to my taste. She definitely cares about the customers' experience. The only downside is that this location doesn't have any baked goods, but I guess their other location does. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with another reviewer that their whole beans are not fresh. Considering they are quite expensive ($20 a bag) and that the coffee is pretty good in-shop it's just not satisfactory to get stale beans. Recommended by a business nearby. Working Roastery with coffee bar. This little coffee shop makes great coffee. The barista (Cameron) very friendly. Love the smell of freshly roasted coffee! Established in 2016.

We began our journey as a coffee factory with a passion for breaking the rules in the industry. Our coffee journey started at this stage, and we've yearned to learn more. As we dive off the deep end into coffee, we needed a way to share our passion for coffee with the community we serve. We started to go to the Farmers Markets four years ago, serving a full cafe menu. The coffee journey we are pursuing allowed us to build our very own mobile espresso bar in-house. The mobile MOD bar on wheels allowed us to serve coffee anywhere. However, something was missing from the coffee experience we wanted to provide. We wanted to give a fuller coffee adventure. To do that, we built a cafe at the roastery. We now offer coffee classes, cupping sessions, and a place to get caffeinated. We're excited to reach this part of our coffee journey. Come and share the adventure with us!

There is plenty of street parking and a nearby garage, but it's definitely more geared towards locals to happen to be in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way for this particular place, but it's pretty nice if I happen to be grabbing brunch around here.

This one does taste like the actual purple yam which is a plus. I want to come back for this again. Overall, we enjoyed this coffee shop and what it offers. It's the best coffee shop in town!

There is plenty of street parking and a nearby garage, but it's definitely more geared towards locals to happen to be in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way for this particular place, but it's pretty nice if I happen to be grabbing brunch around here.

Their Alien Tonic, which very fittingly is colored green from the green apple & lemon flavoring, goes well with the Red Heart jelly for a strawberry kick. Not healthy in the least, but good for days when I want a sweet drink with little to no caffeine (depending on the soda used.) And speaking of sweet -- we've always had lovely conversations with the ladies who work here!

The place is small and has a small bench where you can sit while waiting for your drink. Parking is in the back, so drive around to the parking garage and look for the customer parking area.

went to this makeshift business tent for coffee, the only coffee place around. what a mistake. service was rude, slow, very unpleasant experience. waiting 15 minutes for my coffee because the only guy working was taking orders and no one making coffee, standing in the rain around homeless guys sitting right next to the tent going through his inventory and shooting up his arm. go to starbucks for $2 coffee and here is over $3 for a smaller cup, slow rude service, standing in the rain next to a guy shooting up. welcome to san francisco. read more

All of the coffee fare is the same you can get most anywhere at a nominal price. They have some tasty pastries. I really enjoyed my Jalapeno ham and cheese croissant was really good. We ended up going every morning of our weeklong stay in Pacifica. They made us feel so welcome. We will for sure return when we stay there again.
