I really loved this place! Came for a weekend away and walked by this little gem. It's a super cute little coffee shop that has some adorable vintage decorations. They even have some toys for the kids to play... I love a kid friendly place! We ordered several coffees including a drip, zebra latte, lavender latte and toasted Marshmallow one, a Mexican coffee and even a hot chocolate for the kiddos (sorry I forgot the actual names of the drinks lol). seriously all of them tastes amazing!!!! Great quality coffee!! We even ordered some breakfast sandwiches (those are just decent) but the apple fritter was delicious! Also the prices are extremely fair! The guy behind the register was maybe one of the friendliest workers I talked too that entire weekend in Pacifica. Great kid, super personable! Loved that this place is super walkable from the hotel we stayed at, which made it an easy stop. When you walk in, it has a nice open layout and even an upstairs area so it feels a bit more spacious than your typical coffee spot. It looked like there was just one person handling both the cashier and drink orders, but he managed everything really smoothly. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and honey and when he finished it, he realized he accidentally made it with vanilla syrup instead. Without hesitation, he remade it right away and even offered me the first one for free, which I thought was really kind and showed great customer service. The matcha itself was decent but it wasn't nothing mind blowing but definitely good enough to enjoy and sip on. It had a nice balance and wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. I love Pacific Java Cafe! They're such a friendly, beautiful, tech savvy, & personable coffee shop. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Food & drinks are pretty good, they've raised their prices since changing ownership, which is a bummer, but hey I get it. Prices are rising all over the place. Keep up the awesome work & retain your awesome staff, specifically Christopher. He has a very uplifting presence in your cafe & is sure to bring in repeat customers with his charisma & acute memory for details. It's a cozy little spot with beautiful artwork of the coast painted by Pam Anderberg around the place. It has a beautiful natural lighting via the sky light & the outside bike parking area is nice! They always have water for the refills when I would swing by here on bicycle rides. Sometimes parking is tight, as in not a lot of availablilty of spots. But even then it's worth the short walk. Really good and reminded me of the maple donut cupcake from Cako in SF back in the day. Texturally like a cake donut but in muffin form. read more

I took a little solo trip to Rockaway Beach to reset. Life's been a bit overwhelming lately; one of those times where everything hits at once. I went for a walk and found this cute café called Pacifica Java. There's an upstairs nook I wish I'd found earlier to journal there, but I left my book on the car. Journaling by the ocean was nice though :). I ordered a medium Misty Morning Mocha, and the barista made a tiny panda in the foam. The drink was mildly sweet with a hint of peppermint. I was expecting it to be sweet like all other Mocha's i tend to get, but it was a nice surprise. The Panda Art made my day a bit brighter. Such a cute cafe in Pacifica! Stopped by here prior to hiking at Mori Point. I ordered the matcha latte and it was pretty good. Also ordered the pre-packaged sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. I had the cashier heat the sandwich and the sandwich ended up being hot on the outside but still cold on the inside :/ I just ate it as is lol since I didn't want to bother the one cashier about it since she was the only one working! My friend ordered the honey lavender latte and she really enjoyed it! Either way, the cafe was relatively small but had a decent amount of seating both upstairs and downstairs. I enjoy going to Pacific Java Cafe every so often when I'm on the coast! Their lattes are fun and usually very good, sometimes they taste a little off unfortunately. I love that they have some pastries from Mazzettis! Their breakfast sandwich offerings are decent too, most are meat and there is (I think) one plant based, so that's nice. We needed a caffeine fix and were happy to see that this local shop was open on a holiday. It isn't very big but there is a table inside and a couple of chairs outside. They also have a piano inside and one of the patrons had taken it upon himself to play music, which greatly entertained my kids while we were waiting for our drinks. My husband got a standard latte and it was vey well made - the espresso was rich and the milk was creamy. They also have a bunch of other unique drinks on the menu so I decided to get a coconut oatmilk chai latte which is listed as a "local favorite." While the drink was good, it was super sweet, which is not my preference. I could only drink about 1/3rd of it and had to toss the rest. So if I were to get it again, I would greatly customize the sweetness level. read more

This is such a hidden gem of a coffee shop ! It's behind these shops in one of the main shopping areas in Pacifica. They have two levels of seating and I went with my sister, so we decided to each sit on a different floor. I wanted something warm to eat and drink while I read, and I sat next to a window with some nice sunlight filtered by clouds. The drink I ordered was tasty and was the turmeric chai latte. Is Rockaway Beach the great undiscovered tourist hamlet of Northern California? No, not really, but it's a quick drive from the city unless Hwy One is backed up. I came here by way of a hike though Mori Point. All that scaling up and down those seaside cliffs made me susceptible to a spontaneous afternoon snack. This is the type of place you will find me reading on a sunny morning. Amazing coffee. The matcha could be a little heavier. My drink was a light green and I prefer a stronger taste of matcha. There was a second floor, the place reminded me of a living room vibe-homey. First time here. Cool little place at Rockaway Beach. I ordered a double espresso. It came in a disposable espresso cup. Espresso really needs to be in a small cup so I appreciated this. It's a medium roast. I prefer dark, but it was decent for the type of roast. Not sure where they get their coffee. I will ask next time. I will be back.
