This then made me wonder if the brakes were as bad as they claimed. They showed my wife brake pads that were metal on metal, which would have at the very least been squealing or grinding, and neither was happening. Furthermore, as bad as the pads were, they showed my wife the rotors would have shown damage, and there was none. My wife went in there to get one tire replaced that was supposed to be $130 by the time she got out of there the bill was $600 they are ripping people off. I met another young lady who told me what Pfaff's told her what was wrong with her van before they could do an alignment. She said they told her the wheel bearings were bad, the tie rod ends were bad, the struts, were bad, the rotors and brakes were bad. I jacked up her van the Wheel bearings were tight as could be, the tie rods were tight as could be, the struts showed no leaks and I asked her if her van floats she said no. Her brake pads were still 90% and there was no wear on her rotors.

I first met Vance when my truck decided to turn itself off and not start. Heller motors said they would tow it in to take a look at it. Vance miller showed up, was able to pick me up, and My Truck/Me to Heller Motors to have it looked at. It started right up for Heller Motors. They worked on it for over two hours but couldn't figure out what the issue was. They didn't find the problem and didn't fix it. They said I would just have to "let them know." I'm thinking, great, this will be a nice surprise for me to look forward to. Well today the big surprise happened. I was about a mile and a half north of Towanda heading back to Pontiac from Bloomington. Finding myself dead on the side of the freeway Vance was the first person that came to mind. I called and without hesitation Vance headed my way to rescue me from the sweatbox that my truck was becoming sitting out in that sun. Vance not only picked me and my truck up to drop off at Sam Lemon Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram in Bloomington but he took me to Enterprise rent a car up the road. They had nothing without reservation so he took me to the airport to check out Hertz, Avis, and National. No reservation, no cars. Vance then drove me back to Pontiac and dropped me off at my motel. You see, I am from out of town and that makes issues like this even harder because I am unfamiliar with the surroundings. Honestly, I wish I would have never met Vance because that would mean that my truck was in Tip-Top running order. However, I am glad that I met Vance because he was someone that not only picked me up and took my truck to where it needed to be but he was a local that I could bounce ideas off of and someone that could provide suggestions. As far as I'm concerned he went above and beyond the duties of a tow truck driver. In the end he didn't feel the need to stick it to me when it came to the bill. I hope that when somebody is in the need of a tow truck driver they go to Yelp to find their answer. Look no farther than Bernie's Towing and cross your fingers that Vance Miller is the person that picks you up.

They are some of the kindest folks around and they are very genuine and fair with their pricing. They worked tirelessly to find out what was wrong with my car, and communicated with me every step of the way. They even drove across town to pick me up to retrieve my car at the end of the day because I couldn't get an Uber! I told everyone I know how wonderful they were when I got home. Upon arriving, he helped me diagnose that it wasn't a battery but a fuel pump, he waited with me an extra 15-20 minutes while I contacted Sennott auto brothers who were amazing at helping. He even towed me the extra 10 miles down the road. Together, Shawn and the brothers determined it was in fact my fuel pump and Sean took off. Shortly thereafter the awesome guys at Sennott Auto Bros had me on my was as well. Tl;dr: He didn't need to help me diagnose, didn't need to drive me an extra 10 miles down the road, and didn't need to stick around talking to those who were doing it to ensure it was done right, but he did - because Shawn is awesome. And Holmes Towing is lucky to have a salt of the earth fellow like him. Kudos.

Very similar to a Buc-ees, lots of food, great bathrooms, hot food, retail, jerky, popcorn, beer, and Nee-dohs! We spend about 30 minutes later walking through everything. We ended up buying jerky, hot cheesy potato bites, house made chips, hoagie, chicken Caesar wrap, cinnamon roll, and Nee-dohs! The food was great - not too salted - tasted pretty fresh and portion size was good. Much better than competitors. They told us they have been open since June 2025, but it was barely crowded inside. This is definitely a must stop location!

These marketing genuises make You walk through everything so when You come out; they have You! It's an interesting setup. Who would think American culture would devolve?
