I think I'll start with some of my favorite quotes. Sales rep right after signing for the vehicle: "Hey was it driving funny for you the other day?" Vehicle proceeds to not make it down the road. Serious transmission issues. Other ford dealership I had to take it to for CEL after a week and a half of light use: "It should have never been sold like this. There is bare wiring underneath the hood. Anybody who popped the hood for an oil change would have seen this" First vehicle purchase. 2012 F150 112k miles. Was initially told it was in great shape just needed new breaks. Also the gas cap wouldn't shut and flies open with almost any turn. "Just needs a screw" I was told. I was urged on my test drive "most people just go to the silo and back" which was roughly about 2 turns and 4 miles roundtrip. I've never test driven a vehicle so I didn't know what to think of that, but later I realized this might potentially be my first red flag. Truck drove alright on its short test drive. Come in to sign, truck was pulled up front looking shiny and new. Loved it. Gas cap still wasn't fixed, said they'd pull it around to get fixed while I was signing. Come out after signing. Total with loan and warranty was around 20k I believe. First thing out of salesman's mouth was "hey we couldn't fix the gas cap, I could mail you some Velcro" wtf Next thing is, "Hey by the way was it driving funny for you the other day?" No.... It wasn't. The truck literally was making horrible noises and couldn't get above 40 mph off the lot. You're telling me from the time you drove it from the front of the store to the service center for a gas cap, that it's just now in that short time having these issues? So nobody noticed it when it came from detailing to the front before I signed? I find it incredibly hard to believe. Returned the truck to the dealership for servicing. Huge transmission repair. So about a week later I get to drive the truck again. Lasts for a week and a half before a CEL comes on. Bring it to another ford dealership closer to me. That's when they explain to me the truck should never have been sold like this. There were bare wires underneath the hood and some half assed soldering job. It looked like if I had decided to try and solder it myself. I attached photos of bare / unused wires. Chat GPT says: "Wow. Those photos clearly show a cut and manually spliced harness that looks like it was either hacked apart for diagnostics or used as a donor / bypass at some point -- and it was never put back properly. That is not normal, especially for a truck that was just sold by a dealership. Here's why this is a big deal: Why This Wiring Is a Serious Issue * That bundle goes into a major PCM (Powertrain Control Module) harness on the 2012 F-150. The green wires with labels suggest someone was trying to trace transmission or sensor circuits manually. * Exposed wires = short circuit risk, erratic sensor data, or total loss of function (e.g., transmission shift control, throttle signals, etc.). * It's a potential safety hazard, not just sloppy work. * Selling a vehicle like this without disclosure is, in many states, a violation of dealer disclosure laws Heller says they will "Take a look next week" but I've been urged by many car people around me not to take their BS. read more

Buyer beware. 2 years ago this month I bought a 2020 Ford Explorer from Heller Ford. Two months after purchase I started having issues with the vehicle's transmission. Since we live over an hour away we took our vehicle to a Ford dealership closer to home for repair. A few days later we got our vehicle back and thought it was repaired. Within another 6 months, back into the shop it went for the same problem. Again, we got it back within a week and thought it was repaired. We had asked the local dealership for a car fax on the car because at this point we were starting to question the integrity of the vehicle; but they never gave us one. 3 months ago, the vehicle started acting up again and back in the shop it went. It was there for 3 months because they couldn't figure out what was wrong it with. New transmission, new fly wheel, new starter (only because it was damaged trying to do the other repairs). We finally purchased a car fax on our own because nobody would give us a copy. Turns out Heller sold us a vehicle that was a Lemon Buyback in Indiana and did NOT bother to disclose this information to us. I strongly recommend that, if you decide to buy from Heller, MAKE THEM give you the car fax before you purchase. I will never buy from them again. We no longer have the Explorer and because of the Lemon Buyback, we could not even get what we owed on the vehicle. read more

Can't say enough good things about this dealership. My salesman was Tyler W. I bought a 2017 Ford Raptor from him. A few days later, the truck was throwing a check engine code. I contacted Tyler and the dealership sent me a new F150 rental and picked up my truck from my house free of charge. My husband started a business last July almost a year ago. We went to Heller Ford in El Paso to get a truck for his business. He does concrete work, epoxy and painting so he needed a truck and he needed it to have four-wheel-drive so we got A 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 they sold us a bumper-to-bumper warranty on it and told us "a speaker blows or anything it's covered". Within days it rains and the dome light is leaking water into the cab. We call them and the warranty doesn't cover gaskets then it literally it was one thing after another going wrong we took it out there with a bunch of lights on told them exactly what was going on and what lights are on. They had it for six weeks with zero communication. After 5 weeks we called and then said they had fixed the wheel bearing and were waiting for a part for the radiator that they had blown while driving it on the interstate. A week later we never hear back so we call and they said they are waiting on the wheel bearing that they had already previously told us was complete! Never getting back with us anytime we called we would get told they will call you back. no one would be ever call back. When we finally did get ahold of them it was like they hadn't done anything! ALL THE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON AND NOW MORE! One of those things was the ABS Module needed replaced so there was no antilock brakes system, no traction control, no 4 wheel drive, no stabilitrak system and the ABS module was "on back order" again zero communication and months later we call and are again told it is still on back order, and then we are sent to the heller ford commercial truck center and within a couple days are told the part was actually discontinued. During this last stretch we said we would bring the truck when they had the part and were actually ready to fix it. Eventually they decided to put a USED part on it and hope for the best! It has affected my husband's business every time that they had the truck he was unable to take jobs, complete jobs that were started or would have to pay other people to finish things so his business and our family has suffered! His anxiety/stress level has been through the roof since purchasing this truck and warranty from Heller Ford! It's already a stressful thing starting a business and starting a business where you need a truck, with 4 wheel drive a ladder rack and all of your tools and then you don't have your truck because it's at the shop just sitting there for weeks on end with zero communication is completely asinine! Our marriage suffered from all the stress of this he would get a job started and then they would need to take the truck back cause something would happen and then he wouldn't be able to finish it and he would have to pay other people to finish jobs or helping transport equipment because the truck was so unreliable from the beginning! We have been told sooooo many LIES we have no idea what to believe anymore! read more

Extremely disappointed with this company and their lack of professionalism and care for their clients. I purchased a new F150 over six months ago and I was guaranteed a rebate for accessories for $500. I called DJ Wickman to verify and was assured that I would be reimbursed after purchasing car mats and a trunk liner. I would not have purchased these items from the dealer, knowing that they upcharge. However, after being assured that a rebate was guaranteed, I went ahead and made this $700 purchase anticipating a $500 rebate. I submitted the documentation needed for my rebate and was told to wait for a check in the mail. It never arrived. After several months of phone calls and going back and forth, an associate informed me that the check was mailed to an incorrect address. I've spoken to Ford and Heller for months now, called and emails several times already and they have refused to cancel and reissue the check. At this point, I've spent over 20 hours on phone calls and emails attempting to resolve this issue but the Ford company and the dealer point fingers and refuse to issue my rebate. This is a simple fix for both ford and heller who can cancel the check and reissue correctly. The customer service has been abismal and I will never again purchase a Ford for this reason. It's unfortunate because my whole family has Ford trucks and I would love to support this American company, but this lack of care for their customer has completely changed my opinion and I can no longer support them. Terrible customer service and sales staff is the definition of "used car salesman" lied to try and create sense of urgency to come see car. You need to make a deposit over the phone to reserve the car...it could be gone. I texted numerous times about coming to the El Paso location and being there by by 6pm at the latest. I texted and said I was going to be a bit early, 30 minutes. I arrive and the receptionist says it's Peter's day off, would you like to wait in the lounge 20-30 minutes until he gets here????? NO-RUDE!!! I drove 1.5 hours one way and the salesman never once said he wasn't there, or letting me know. best part....his buddy tried to play the "we can't find the car game like an asshole and make us wait to buy the other guy time". he pretended to scramble around and said it must be at another facility but assured us they'd find it. NOPE. don't waste your time. if you want to play games, be hassled, or be treated rudely this is the dealership for you. otherwise, skip it. read more

I first test drove a used car I was interested in during a storm, so I didn't check it out as much as I would of liked to. I let them know I was interested in the car, but I wanted to drive it again. The salesman told me it would be going fast and that there were 3 other people interested in the car. However, if I put a deposit down they could hold it for me. So I did. When I went down there to drive it again, I noticed oil leaking from underneath!! So they assured me it had just had a seal replaced and that was only residual oil. I left with a two week warranty against any oil leaks. I did find small spots on my driveway afterward, so I brought it back there. I was told it was fine, and possibly just still small amounts that had been left over from the original leak. The salesman and the mechanics repeatedly bragged about their customer service and how well they take care of their customers. So I gave them my trust. A few weeks later, I found myself stranded 40 miles from my home, because all the oil had leaked out of my car as I was driving!! I called them and they sent a tow truck to pick the vehicle up. It was in the shop for a day or two and when I picked it up, they said it was the oil cooler line had broke, but they repaired it for free. I thought that was great. However, I've had the car for 6 months and I've had issue after issue! I've had it in the shop 3 more times since then. I've had spark plugs and coils replaced. The vehicle continues to overheat and I had to keep adding coolant. I tried a few sensors, a new radiator cap, and ended up needing to replace the radiator. A few days later, I came outside and ALL of my transmission fluid had leaked out under the car!!! Back to the shop! When I brought it to the new mechanic, he explained that the lines to the transmission had broke because my car had been hit before and wasn't fixed properly! He basically told me that I still have a leak in my power steering system somewhere and that I'm probably going to continue to have issues. My car is still overheating as well. My mechanic told me there's no way that a decent mechanic could not have noticed what was going on with the car. Needless to say, I am very disappointed I put my trust into this dealership that is suppose to have such an amazing reputation with customers. I feel they were dishonest with me, unless their certified mechanics are incompetent. Yes I am at fault for not having the vehicle looked over by my own mechanic, but I did not expect this!! read more

Let me break this down for you. Found the exact truck I want online. Got an online trade proposal and negotiated the right price. Ask the salesman to call me so I can put down a deposit and come the next morning. Salesman calls me and after essentially agreeing to terms he breaks it down to me that this is a ford buyback (lemon law vehicle). I know it's exactly what I want aside from this so I ask if I can still come the next morning and check it out. Of course he says yes. (This is at 5:06 pm) I tell him I'll be there 30 minutes after they open. (3 hour round trip for me) I get a call in the morning after taking the day off and I'm over an hour from home on the drive and he tells me the truck sold out from underneath me. Yesterday he was stressing the pricing limits of a small town dealership but today he is saying they are a big dealer who has to work on a first come basis. So which is it? I'm giving them a one star because there is not an option to give them ZERO stars. We bought our daughter a car from them in March of 2021. The financing guy pushed the extended warranty on us. So we got it figuring that it was a used car so we didn't know all the details. The car caught fire in July. They refused to fix it. They refused to even look at it. Finally in October they told us that it was a national warranty and we could go anywhere to get it fixed. Why did it take them 3 months to tell us that??? Come to find out the car had a cracked head. It's going to cost $14,000 to fix. On a $14,000 car. All of this could have been handled a long time ago if they had just been helpful. Do not buy a car from Heller. Only giving one star because I have to. Bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler from here. Haven't put 1,000 miles on it and the Jeep starts over heating. We changed the thermostat twice, completely flushed the cooling system and put the recommend coolant in it and it was still getting hot. Took it to a local dealership to have a block test done on it and it comes back that it failed the block test immediately, needs the head gaskets replaced and was quoted $3,700. Called Heller and they told me to bring it in so they can look at it, so we had it towed there. They have it for a week and tell me they can't find anything wrong with it and that it didn't fail their block test. I had the dealership I took it to, email them the paperwork and still nothing. At this point if they can't even diagnosis a blown head gasket or perform a block test accurately, I don't even want them to touch the damn thing. Go to pick it up, rags were left under the hood, the windshield light bar is facing the hood, and toggle switch panel is all over the place with the battery display and completely turns off. So didn't pick it up in the same condition I dropped it off in and they didn't even work on it. The fact of the matter is that I bought a vehicle from here under the impression it was a running vehicle. Here I am making payments on something that I had for 3 months and can't even drive! Traveling to Tennessee from Minnesota after Thanksgiving with family, we stopped for gas and a sandwich. While pulling into the gas my wife heard a grinding sound coming from my rear wheel. Me not being a mechanic I figured it was my bearing or something. It was 3:30pm on 11/24/2018 Heller Ford closes at 1600. So I went there looking for HELP. Well I certainly got that from the staff at Heller Ford. With only two mechanics on they took the time to look at my vehicle and fixed my problem on the spot. We are truly great-full for there help and assistance to get me back on the road. Mr. Nussbaum was our mechanic. Sadly our purchase of a F-150 platinum 2021 isn't going so well. Within the first week of driving our new truck we found that there was an issue with the driver seat. We are several months out with no resolve due to parts being delayed. Also while they were trying to fix the issue something else broke on the seat and that also can't be fixed at this time. Most annoying part they've picked our truck up to be fixed several times only to find that the new part was either broken or the wrong part. I purchased a car online had them send me a video of it running in the walk around the car was brought to me when it arrived as soon as I open the drivers door there is immediately rust in the corner of the door jam mind you this is supposed to be pretty much mint condition 50,000 mile soon to be classic car 2003 mustang cobra convertible not to mention the $2000 I had to put into the suspension after they claimed it had been inspected I would not recommend them definitely not buying online without seeing the car first which I know is risky but when you get a video sent to you you think they would point out the big rust spot and mention that the suspension is pretty much junk With the market the way it is and the rarity of the car I did purchase it but definitely would not have purchased the vehicle if I would've known the true details very disappointed but I guess that's just your typical car salesman read more

Purchased a 2017 F150 in late April. I was made several promises that were not taken care of when I picked up the truck. One being a rock chip in the window that was to be filled, windshield wipers that needed to be changed and a new owners manual that was going to be sent to me. When I picked the truck up none of the above was accomplished. Also it was one of the worst cleaning jobs I have ever experienced when buying a vehicle. I emailed the dealership and they came and picked the truck to take care of my complaints. When the truck came back there were several long scratches in the bed and the door. The dealership took the blame and offered to buff them out. Another trip to ElPaso and a 5 hour wait and the scratches look exactly the same. The dealership says that's the best they can do and that the scratches were in the truck when I bought it. I'm 100% sure I would have known if there was a 4 foot long scratch in the bed at eye level. Now I can not get a response from the dealership. I would avoid this place at all cost if I were you. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. One star is too much!! RUN!!! Run as far away from Heller Ford El Paso as you can. My husband and I bought a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude for Heller Ford in El Paso. We financed $18,000 after putting $8,000 down. We were told the vehicle went through their shop and was good to go, no issues. Only thing left was a final detail. We picked it up on 8/30/22. Five miles into the drive home the check engine light illuminated on the dash. The vehicle was running hot as well. On 8/31/22 the Jeep over heated. Coolant was added by us since it was low. Heller Ford was contacted. We were told by the sales guy Bobby Eckert "We will make things right." several times. We were told the coolant was low due to an air bubble when the shop filled it. We were told there were no codes showing up for the check engine light, that the technician had cleared it out and was unable to get it to come back on. The vehicle was returned by a technician. It was driven less than 7 miles when the check engine light came on again. We contacted Bobby at Heller Ford once again. He was very admit that the dealership and shop would make things right. They would correct any issues. However this fell on a holiday weekend so Bobby himself would contact us after the holiday. He never called. We then attempted to contact him. He avoided the calls and never returned them. Over a week went by when we finally got him on the phone he gave some excuse about being out with Covid. The Jeep was taken to Burtle Motors in Auburn, Illinois. Where within 5 minutes their mechanics were able to tell us there were in fact 3 codes showing up. That these codes would never go away on their own. The check engine light would stay on and continue to come back on if reset due to the issues. The Jeep was sold to us with the knowledge that these issues were in fact already present. The Jeep had an oil leak, the catalytic converter was bad and would need replaced. These problems did not happen within our 5 mile drive away from the dealership. They were present when Heller Ford sold the vehicle to us. The mechanics at Burtle speculated when the technician from Heller would return the vehicle to us he would clear the codes moments before handing us back the keys. They knew what codes were coming up. They knew what it would take to fix it and they knew how much it would cost. Bobby at Heller was contacted with the finding where he denied knowledge and refused to help us!! The sales department also hyped up this "excellent detail". I'm not sure they even touched it. We found garbage (drink pouches, paper, food wrappers, etc.) behind the driver seat. Nasty, some empty, some unopened caffeine shots under the passenger seat & floor mat. Bought a truck hearing all of the great reviews of them. A week into the new truck and all of the lights for the electrical are going off ABS, emergency brake, steering assist - the whole kit and caboodle - all not working. After SEVERAL times calling to get it sorted out, we were blown off several times. We'd get a "we'll call you back" and go a week to two without any contact. After a month and a half of phone tag and half-assed responses, they pick up the truck and tried to fix it (only after we got in contact with management). The most frustrating part - we couldn't use the truck for that long while half of our house was ripped up and we were trying to do renovations. They return it to us "fixed". The problems that were occurring were previously intermittent, were now constant. We called to let them know, and they quickly got us back in - picking up the truck from us and taking it to the shop. The next day, they had the problem solved. They returned the truck to my spouse's work parking lot, and left. My spouse was working very late that night, and didn't see the truck until it was too dark to notice anything. The next morning - we see it. After calling, trying to get it sorted out with them directly, they refused to pay (or fix) the damages that they caused. Total slime ball dealership. read more

I have sat in dealerships for hours trying to close deals in the past...that is not the case here. When I arrived, the two trucks I wanted to see were parked in front, ready for test drives.
