We recently spent 3 days / 2 nights in one of the resort's bayfront cottages (there are only six of…read morethese available). The cottage can accommodate up to six guests, but our stay was just for me, my wife, and our wheaten terrier. This review reflects our experience specifically as cottage guests, since those staying in RV spaces may have a very different experience. It was also our first visit to this RV resort, and we did not participate in many of the on-site activities. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay. The resort was very clean, the staff was welcoming and engaging with guests, and we appreciated how dog-friendly the property is. The location is also excellent -- conveniently close to the I-5 freeway, nearby walking and bicycling trails, downtown Chula Vista, and the newly built Gaylord Resort property less than half a mile to the south. While amenities such as the pickleball courts, swimming pool, hot tubs, and putting green looked inviting, we did not personally use them during this visit. We ate dinner at the on-site café both evenings, and every dish we ordered was reasonably priced, generously portioned, and served fresh and hot. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout. We tried the Baja Burger, Fish & Chips, Steak & Frites, Cheesesteak, crinkle-cut fries, pretzel buns, and churros -- all were delicious, and we would happily order them again without hesitation. Our bayside cottage was clean, well maintained, and offered beautiful views of the wildlife preserve between the resort and San Diego Bay. The two-bedroom layout provided more than enough space for us and our medium-sized dog. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, along with the covered first-level patio and uncovered second-level patio facing the bay. Although we didn't use the barbecue grill, it was spotless and clearly ready for guests to use for grilling steaks, burgers, hot dogs, or anything else they wished. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely consider returning for another local staycation.

We were really disappointed with our recent stay. This was our second visit, but both nights we…read morewere kept awake by a cottage across from us that had DJ/karaoke equipment, large speakers OUTSIDE and hosted a loud party that went until around 12:00 am. Legitimately the absolute WORST singers we have ever heard. Think screeching drunk idiots yelling into a microphone while you are trying to enjoy your fire pit and relax. The most frustrating part was that we called staff and were told that since quiet hours didn't start until 11:00 p.m., nothing could be done regardless of how loud it was. The party also appeared to include excessive underage drinking, which was concerning at a family resort. We came here expecting a fun, relaxing family vacation, not two nights of disrupted sleep. It's unfortunate because we enjoyed our first stay, but this experience definitely makes us think twice about returning.

We do a nice stroll after dinner. It is so lovely at sunset! The other night we were there and saw the launch trail of the rocket in the sky. So pretty with the colors of the sunset and the white rocket trail. People may be a tad frightened of my big dog but I've met loads of people that see she is a love bug. You can't ask for a better backdrop than the strand to downtown and the awesome Coronado Bridge! Last week they had a lowrider gathering with some absolutely gorgeous cars and trucks and food! I loved the music and the DJ was great! Enjoyed the music from everyone's cars. Especially enjoyed the happy people. The boats and yachts are great to look at well. Good times. Come on down see ya out there and we can have a nice chit chat. Several picnic tables throughout, nice grassy area to put down a blanket and plenty of squirrels and birds to see too.

When I was a kid most Easter's & Birthday parties were here. One park has a pier to fish the other has a loading deck for boats. When I was a teenager I came here as well but not for family gatherings but to hang out with friends. And it's a good spot to bring girls late at night & you know....play BINGO in the back seat :) the first park has alot of parking spots for that. Now that I'm a dad & family man I come again for birthday parties & also just to hang with family to grill & see the low riders on weekends. My favorite reason to come tho is to see the Sunsets with my daughters, have a late picnic, listen to music & just watch the sun set, love it. Me & my family's favorite park in the South Bay hands down. Now with the Gaylord Resort next door the park looks better & is extended. We will continue to go & see those sunsets & one day I'll bring my grandkids here too. See you soon J Street Park.

We have stayed and everything from an RV site to the cabins that have no bathrooms or showers all the way up to the deluxe cabin. This year we stayed in a deluxe cabin and it was absolutely perfect. plenty of bedding, air conditioning worked fantastic. The bedding in the bedroom downstairs was super comfortable. If we needed something immediately was brought to us. I love that they have an adult only Jacuzzi.. staff was incredibly nice and kind. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. I do wish the café was open later 1:30 PM on some of the days during the week. I also love that it's very pet friendly. My dog is 15 and has terminal cancer, this cabin was the perfect way for her to enjoy our camping trip. Yes, there are mosquitoes but everywhere has mosquitoes. We used mosquito spray and we were fine. Looking forward to coming back.

We especially loved the fire pits, and the firewood delivery service was impressively fast and convenient. Our cabin was another highlight--spotless, thoughtfully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Getting around the campground was easy, and it was simple to connect with other family members staying nearby. Despite seeing some reviews mentioning noise, we experienced none at all--just a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Check-in was quick and seamless, and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Their friendliness really added to the overall experience. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will absolutely recommend it to friends and family. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with family, this is a fantastic place to stay. Room - We rented the Deluxe Cabin (Full Bath with Shower), KOA Patio ® Sleeping Loft. One room had a queen-sized bed, another very small room had a bunkbed (2 beds total), there was a couch in the main area that folded out and there was a large loft space with what looked to be a queen-sized mattress. Note, you couldn't stand up in the loft (perhaps small kids could - I'm 5'2" and could not). Kitchen had decent sized fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, and utensils. Outside was a propane grill (worked great), a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs and tables and an umbrella covered picnic table with I believe 6 chairs. There was also a stand up bar height table by the fire pit. And I almost forgot the best part - one bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Linens provided (bed and bath). Nearby activities: Very easy to travel to all the sites from this location (beaches, parks, zoo, etc.) SafetyI felt very safe staying here as a female. Food & drinks: They have a cafe of sorts on site but we did not check it out. Of note: Some of the outer perimeter tent campsites were right off the freeway. My cousin who stayed there said it was a little bit noisy. Where we were DC203 was very quiet and peaceful.

You will need to walk a little further from the parking lot to get on a trail. From there, you can start your "nature" walk or go straight to the park. I did not get the chance to explore the trails further, but it was enough to see that there were some nice spots to ooh and aah about. I had cut my walk short and made a turn-around and headed towards the playground. Got my grandkids for their play ground fix. They loved everything about the place. The entire park is new, clean, scenic and not so congested with people. This park has a little bit of something to offer for everyone. You can't beat the fresh open air. The best park about coming to this park was the cool breeze coming off the bay. Parking is free.
