I went here recently with a group of co-workers for a celebratory dinner. We each got the Churrasco Experience, which includes full-service offerings of each meat, an extensive buffet of cured meats, fishes, fruits, salads, and veggies, and some small starchy sides. It was $60/person, so definitely a pricey meal, but if there was ever a meal where you could eat $60 worth of food, this was it. Buffet: Let's just say that if all I got for my $60 was this buffet, it would still be a solid meal and okay deal. They have many cured meats, smoked salmon, and cheeses (hard to believe anyone would want these with all the other meats they bring, but so be it). You also get to sift through a wide array of salads, beans, cold cooked veggies, and fruits (kiwi slices with my meats - why not?) Meats: Too many to even remember (or to capture with pictures). The servers bring meats to the table one after another and you get to take a piece of each one. I could barely keep up and had to say no a few times! Multiple cuts of steak, lamb, pork sausage, chicken thighs, and even some fried Haloumi cheese to boot. It is very easy to lose track of how much meat you've eaten (until you feel like you could explode). I honestly would have liked if they came a little slower/less frequently, but that is not the vibe they are going for. Sides: They bring several starchy sides to the table along with your meats, including crispy polenta (basically thick polenta fries), soft/warm banana, mashed potato, and cheesy bread (which my co-worker described as having the texture of matcha with a savory taste). For the sake of my stomach, animals, and the planet, I will likely not come back here again any time soon. But if you are looking for a meal that combines variety, quality, and (unparalleled) quantity, this is a good bet. read more

Meat, meat, and more meat. Let me start by saying I came in with 0 expectations. I had never been and was curious about the whole notion of unlimited meats (and salad bar). After my experience here are my takeaways: In my opinion, it's only worth the money if you do the unlimited option because you get to experience so much food; however, the consistency of quality of said food is where I paused for a second. Most of the meat is fine, but there are some cuts that don't hit the mark. The interesting thing is the same meats will make their way back every few minutes and I, personally, could taste a difference in what was supposed to be the exact same cut. Overall it was good though! The drinks were good. Definitely recommend getting a cocktail and a glass of water to help wash down the food. The salad bar also has quite a large selection of food. I made the mistake of getting too excited with the salad bar before the main event. Nonetheless, I'm glad I went with friends and we got to experience it together. We were walking by and decided to pop in and give it a go. Now, would I bring a date or my mother here? I probably would not but I could see myself brining my younger siblings or another group of friends. I say this to give a sense of the vibe. If you haven't tried it I recommend giving it a try . Do you love all the meats? You gotta come here! Gotta love the buffet of meats that circle around and you get table side service for them! Definitely worth the money! I've been to another location in los Angeles and tried the one here in Pittsburgh. Love the variety and food coma that follows. If you love steak you have to try it! We had a big group go here for my birthday! It is on the pricier side, but it was yummy and you definitely don't leave hungry! I think it's better than their competitor restaurant! Fogo de Chão is a fancy Brazilian style steakhouse with super tasty food. I think it's a fancy restaurant but I do see a lot of people dressed casually in there so I'm not really sure hahaha. They have a huge buffet that you can keep going up to. The meat comes around with the servers on metal sticks and they come to your table and ask if you would like that type of meat. If you say yes, they cut off a small slice and you grab it with your little tongs. They have a ton of different meats: chicken, sausage, multiple steak cuts, lamb, and I'm probably missing some! I've been to Fogo a ton of times, my boyfriend is Brazilian and it's one of the only places in Pittsburgh with Brazilian food. The service is usually good but this last time we went they only had 1 meat runner for brunch so you had to wait a super long time to get more meat. That was a little annoying but I know a lot of restaurants are struggling to get workers. read more

Absolutely disappointing experience here. We came in on a MONDAY. It was not that busy. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because our server was attentive and the score is not reflective of the staff, but rather the food. Let me preface, I have been to a Fogo de Chao in another city and had a lovely experience. So comparatively, this location ranks very low. The steaks that came out were almost all medium rare/rare (even the outside pieces!). Usually they will ask if you want it cooked more and will come back around with medium/medium well pieces... that did not happen.Multiples of the steaks came out with HUGE pieces of fat that were not rendered, whatsoever. We waited nearly 7 minutes for them to come around with meats and give us a sliver. Most of the meats they brought out weren't even the better meats (top sirloin , bottom sirloin, filet, etc.). They kept bringing out the cheap stuff like fried cheese, chicken, and sausage over and over again. The sides, plantains and Yuka fries were cold and over cooked. I ordered a mojito when we first sat down, it came out good and on point (+1 star for that), but then the second time I ordered the exact same drink, it came out completely different with NO mint or lime in the glass. It tasted like a margarita. I alerted the server, he agreed and sent it back to be remade. It came out almost exactly the same. What a disappointment when consistency is not met. Ambiance was much more casual than I am used to with people mostly in tshirts and jeans. Not a great place to celebrate an anniversary unless you want to leave hungry and disappointed with a hole in your wallet for an underwhelming experience. read more

Where to start ... hands down these folks know how to do this Brazilian steakhouse thing spot on! I have gone to others where you just have folks coming at you for all directions.. these folks time it out perfectly and everyone we had serving us - so friendly Parking: there is a garage you can park in next to them - they give you $5 voucher towards parking. Roughly two hours. The group had reservations- seven people in total for Saturday brunch .. our table was ready for us when we got there. We got some recommendations from the wait staff and then " let the games begin". I don't think there was anything we tried that was not delicious. Great time celebrating a friends birthday! We made a reservation online so there was not a wait when we ate on a Friday night. A nice surprise was the live music they have playing all night! I believe they have live music for weekend dinner but I'm not sure. Service was excellent. The servers that were cutting the meats for us were very interactive and several of them told us puns. One server also asked if we wanted any particular meat and when we requested the lamb (our favorite of the night) he brought it right over to us! The servers were very accommodating asking if we wanted our meat more well done or more red. And service was quick in general. The cold buffet was also very good and well stocked throughout the night. Overall a great experience with delicious food and excellent service! read more

I don't like leaving poor reviews, but I feel like Fogo missed the mark when we dined yesterday. The service was SUPER slow and there were multiple moments where the steak carriers passed our table even if we had the cards on green. Just kept passing us. They kept going to the table next to us though, even though I'm pretty sure we asked for the same cuts. It's disappointing, because we love going to Fogo and to top it off, we were there to celebrate my dad's birthday, my mom even commented on how slow the service was, I'm sure the private party was a priority, but we're still paying customers. Dined here with my parents for a special occasion. Waiter "Ed", came to our table to check on us. Completely unprompted after asking us if we're local, he states that he's a "Trump Republican" and then starts talking about how he's glad they overturned Roe and that "I'm glad abortion is a states rights issue, sure, it's a little messy right now, but it'll work itself out." My parents and I stare at him completely dumbfounded as we don't talk politics at dinner. I attempted to change the subject back to the meal at hand, but he ignores me, and continues on, smiling and visibly enjoying himself, about how Republicans are going to "fix everything" and ranting on in the middle of our meal about abortion and unions and some other random topics? I don't care what your politics are, it was completely inappropriate for our waiter to bring that up unprompted at my special occasion dinner with my parents. This dinner was my last meal with my parents for at least six months, and "Ed" completely ruined this very expensive meal for my family and I. I have no idea how he thought it was appropriate to bring up politics and rant on about them for over 5 minutes in the middle of our meal, it was honestly bizarre and concerning. Besides that, the meat was very good and the staff bringing around the meats were all very nice. The salad bar was decent. The dining room was a bit dark for an early dinner and the bathrooms were untidy. It was also extremely expensive and absolutely not worth the price. Besides the incident with the waiter, I would not return here, the price is not worth it. You can find a better steak house for half the price. We are from out of town and it was Mother's Day. It was insanely busy; reservations were being seated 45 minutes late but not due to lack of effort by employees. They were in a constant run/walk to keep the dream alive?! It's beautiful inside, as mentioned, the staff are top notch and the pricing is reasonable for the amount of food you are allowed to consume if you so choose. Food that is supposed to be hot should at least be warm? It wasn't. The soup was not gazpacho but very cold and grainy. None of our meat was even lukewarm, as were the sides. Highly impressed with Fogo! We booked an event here for 25 people, and it was a breeze from start to finish. Booking was simple, and Gary, the general manager was great to work with. As soon as we arrived our table was set up perfectly, and our two waiters were just awesome! They were super helpful and knowledgeable, and although the restaurant was completely slammed with other tables, they somehow kept on top of our drinks and requests the best that they could. I've eaten at another Brazilian steak house a long time ago and I remember how they try to "make you full" with the salad bar so I was mindful there this time around. I eat fish but no other meat, so it was great to be offered a seafood dish for my main entree. My coworker is vegetarian and was offered the cauliflower steak which she raved. Although the salad bar has lots to choose from, I don't think paying full price for the same experience as meat eaters is something I would do in the future. The experience is cool, but disappointing if you're wanting nice cuts of meat to fill you up. My husband was disappointed that his "favorite" cut of meat was only presented one time, although he and others at our table asked for it to be served again. They being all of the meat at once, very quickly, and then were no where to be found when our table wanted more. It wasn't until after our dessert that they brought any meat back in to the room, and at that point everyone was pretty over the shaved meat portion of the meal. Highly overrated. We were a party of seven. The other six of them got their drinks. I was left out and I was the guy paying. I asked a total of three servers for a drink, and I sat there for 45 minutes without one. Finally I got up and walked the length of the restaurant to the bar when I spotted the waiter there told him I I never received my drink. On top of that, their meat is over salted and lacks taste. I feel a little weird reviewing this restaurant since I don't really eat steak haha. My partner, brother, and mom have been desperate to try so I decided to tag along. My partner and brother for the Fogo experience and seemed to really enjoy it, although a few times the temperature of meat was not what was said. My mother did the steak experience and was really happy with all of her meat cuts. I did the chicken. The lemon pepper chicken was perfectly cooked and a nice portion but so lemon and so pepper that I actually couldn't eat much of it. My mouth went a little numb. It also took a long time for the chicken to come around. The Gaucho mentioned no one had worked on it until he clocked in which is why I waited so long. But it was fine since there were side dishes. The cold salad bar was interesting. I loved the corn salad and the mushrooms but the zucchini was mushy. And they were out of salami and prosciutto which never got refilled so maybe a shortage? Everything else was fun to try though. The polenta fries were nice and crispy and I really enjoyed the cheesy bread. All in all a nice place for dinner. We had a reservation for 730. We have been to Texas de Brazil which is similar but never to fogo de chao so we were really excited. Our server was very nice- gave us lots of cheesy bread! The actual service from the meat passers was horrible. There were times we waited 25 minutes without getting offered any meat! We were there so long because we weren't getting served meat and the meat passers were asking us why we were still there and what we were waiting for. When we said we were waiting for the particular type of meat- they said twice that they would send it over but they never did! The manager did stop at our table and we said everything was good because we don't like to complain. At 9 the service definitely got worse. We eventually just left because we weren't getting served meat and felt like everyone stopped serving us so we would leave...definitely not a great experience! New Years Eve Celebration The food was great. Especially the steak and Ribeye. The atmosphere wasn't bad. There were really fun nice people we got to meet at the party. There weren't many people but I was fine with that. The band was good but they needed to sing better, more famous songs. The service was good. But there is always room for improvement. They upgraded us to a full dinner experience because we were the only people that booked the party experience alone. That was very thoughtful and smart to do! Meat on a sword is always great. I'm glad a left it green to sample all of the meats and then ordered meats on special request after. The skirt steak is up there as one of the most tender cuts. Everything is cooked and marinated beautifully. The servers at this place are pretty good they'll make sure to pop by you make sure your well fed. Never really had trouble with service other than Veterans Day, go figure, but that was they only time it's been lack luster. The vibe in there is decently fancy, but can also be casual. I took my team to Fogo for a nice dinner after winning a campaign. The food was great, and the service was a little slow but fine. We stopped at the bar before we left- apparently to offend the bartender. We ordered one drink each- she checked her watch before taking our order. First of all for a chain restaurant, this place is beautiful inside. Staff here are nice, but definitely short staffed. Bring your patience and an extra dose of kindness for the staff there that are doing their very best. If your coming here, just go with the salad bar and endless meats. In Pittsburg for Niece's wedding. Tried to get a rezzie for our party of 6 at Gaucho Parilla Argentina. Nope, booked out - could do 2separate tables. Then another popular place: also no. So Fogos it is. Never been. The moment you walk in you know it strives for elegance and sophistication. And that is no facade. It achieves. Wasn't going to start snapping pictures of everything and playing the newbie, tourist fool. But I could have. On the other hand mere photos can't convey the flavors, the fun but highly practiced and professional treatment by the servers and staff, and the just generally warm and joyful experience you will have on dining here. It seems like there are 2 basic ways to go here. 1) Hit the salad bar and then wait for servers to bring around the various meat choices, one by one, carved from tall, vertical metal skewers and placed at your plate, or actually you grab the meat with tiny tongs as it is being carved right next to you. A most personal and satisfying method of service. Offerings included: ribeye, top sirloin, lamb (cut not identified), 'garlic steak' cubes, bacon-wrapped chicken, bacon-wrapped pork, and maybe 1 - 2 others I've forgotten. All offerings are rubbed or marinated and flame broiled with flavors I've never achieved in 30 years of practice. I even ate the fat layer of the meats. I never do that. 2) The other way to go, would be order the in-kitchen made apps, like twin lobster tails and claws or a full seafood tower and let them make a wagyu Tomahawk steak and carve it at table. That was my choice but the wife nixed it and we went with option 1. Did we suffer? Hardly. So I haven't described the salad bar, self service area yet. It's damn close to Shangri La. Salads, and composed items, hearts of palm, pencil asparagus, baby artichokes, smoked salmon, cheeses, fruit spreads. All elegantly displayed, expertly seasoned, beautiful to look at. There are elegant silver chafers for the soup offering (pumpkin, tonight) and both barely-crisped black beans and barely-crisped rice. Bread are placed on the table: they're tiny Yorkshire pudding-type buns filled with a rich unctious cheese. There, I said it: unctious. Additional sides like garlic mashed and polenta-encrusted, fried plantain slices are offered in sensibly sized, smaller serving dishes. Desserts are actually pretty standard: chocolate whatever, creme brûlée, tres leches something, etc. I asked if they could make an affogato? Nope, the foaming wand on the Espresso machine wouldn't do this or that. Ok. Could they just pour an espresso over some ice cream? Oh, sure, we can do that. While I - and my sharing-minded wife finished with that slice of heaven, others chose cut and whole fruit from the salad bar: mangos, pineapple, bananas, plantain. Didn't pay attention. Too deep in pure bliss. I bought our server an after-shift drink; she had to clear it with her manager. She was so happy! sigh. Is there a rating higher than 5 stars? read more

One server in particular shared a joke each time he came around our table and they were super punny. Enjoyable atmosphere all around. The Brazilian meats were delicious and there was plenty of options to choose from! From pork, to beef and chicken, there is something for everyone's tummy. If the meat isn't enough, there is an endless salad bar with cold roasted veggies, salads and fruit! My favorite is the sugar coated bacon that I can't get enough of! For dining options, they offer a premium experience with more expensive cuts, an experience with most of the meat offerings, single fish or vegetarian plates, and an option where you can choose one cut of meat for your meal. The food is VERY fatty (probably why so cheap), the cleanliness of the "salad bar" is DISGUSTING due to ppl & children doing unimaginable things in/on the items inside the salad bar (FDA would NOT approve of) & last but not least, I've taken my mother @ this for her birthday & will NEVER take her here again!!! I partaked in their salad bar before I had my main course of meats I was impressed & taken back by their variety & tastes of each item I took back to my table. When I was ready to sample all their fine cuts I flipped over my card to the green side to let the servers know I was ready to be served. My server was rather friendly and attentive making sure our party was attended to and we were enjoying our dining experience.   I really enjoyed their sirloin & pork cuts which are tender juicy and seasoned to perfection. They also offered some good chicken too but I'm very big on beef and pork cuts myself. I'll try out more of the chicken next time as it was excellent. I also partook in their lamb & it's better then any I've had on a Gyro.
