Cheesy bread and brunch foods from salad bar
    Tiffany Y.

Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse that has locations throughout the world. Since 2018, I have eaten brunches, lunches, and dinners at this location many times. I always dine in, but takeout and delivery are available. Customers may choose to order appetizers, a la carte entrees, and/or the full churrasco experience of gaucho servers bringing meats to the tableside. My husband and I always order the full churrasco experience, which includes the market table (salad bar), sides, and most importantly meats such as picanha (top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), filet mignon, ribeye, chicken, and lamb chops. For our most recent meal, we ate at noon on a Saturday, and my husband felt disappointed that brunch was being served, because it did not include the potatoes and lobster bisque that we love. At least we got to eat lots of delicious meats. We also liked our sides of mashed potatoes, fried bananas, and polenta, although the first batch of cheesy bread was overbaked and hard so we had to ask for more. The cost was $49 per person plus tax and tip. Overall, our meals here are solidly good, so we will continue to eat here. Tip: Costco often has fantastic deals on gift cards for Fogo de Chao.

The staff is outstanding! Dan the man at the trendy bar mixed us the best martinis and special menu choice beverages! We shared a 34 oz ribeye on a salt hot sizzling platter which was excellent. Steak it is! Also shared apps. A burrata, hot bread, lamb chops all delish. They validate parking too. Right next door. Very open floor plan.

Working out here for the NFL draft and saw Fogo was right next to where I was staying. Wasn't busy at all for a weeknight which was nice. Very friendly service with chill vibes. Ordered the Churrasco experience which is the side buffet and the meats that come out on skewers and they cut it for you table side. Buffet had many and great options including cured meats, salads, fruits, and cheese. The meat was hot and fresh off the grill. My favorites included the lamb shoulder, sausage, picanha. Very happy with my experience.

Good food, great service, nice ambiance! A more upscale vibe than Texas de Brazil, but the food is the same. I do like the salad bar better here. It is a LOT of food, so come hungry. Great spot for large groups or a date night.

I went here for the first time for Thanksgiving with my family. The food was really good. The sides were amazing, we all really enjoyed them. The turkey was good but the stuffing was soupy and not edible. All of the meats came around consistently and we never had a repeat. The little charcuterie buffet area was ok. There was not a lot on it. Overall, I enjoyed myself. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was decent. I did knock off one star because we had to wait over 40 minutes for our reservation.

We had a great dinner for my brother in laws 50th birthday! We had reservations and got to sit by the kitchen window...it was great! We had so much food and everything tasted great. The salad bar had so many fun and different things...the hummus and bacon were insane! We decided to just do the one meat option and we had more than enough food. Our waiter and the ambiance were top notch.

Delicious meats, served hot and cooked perfectly. We went for Thanksgiving and left very full. The charcuterie table was fully stocked! Service was great, with multiple people making sure we had what we needed. The building was beautifully decorated. A little pricey but worth it for the experience.

We dined here for a company trip and I was NOT disappointed. At first I was a bit confused why our room was so wide but as the meats came in I understood. Now, I can't it was ideal for chatter among your colleagues, but it made a lot of sense for the ease of distribution for food. Eating here we did "All You Can Eat" and we picked up our appetizers ourselves but the meat was served to us. The staff was pretty good at being pretty constant as they walked around with different meats. If you missed something they usually came back. Honestly I tried so much food even thinking about it I'm stuffed. It is a very elevated vibe at this venue and honestly, I can't wait to go back in my own city.

The restaurant has a simplistic and clean vibe. There were many great food options from the market table were perfect to pair with the meats. However, the carved meat was overall salty and sometimes tough. I found the bottom sirloin to be my favorite cut of meat. The server were very kind and would often check up on us and ask us for what cut of meat we want. Additionally, we also got a complimentary birthday cake!

Our server was excellent and the auxiliary staff were courteous and efficient. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little spicy but delicious. Beware of the two Thai chilies in the mix! Next my husband had the lobster bisque. It was quite rich with a large chunk of lobster as a garnish. Our main courses were a 10 ounce filet, wild caught shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and Chilean sea bass. Everyone loved their entrees. Our son especially loved the filet, it was so tender. We ordered two side dishes for the table and they were plenty for the three of us. Decadent lobster mashed potatoes and crabmeat fried rice. We shared a dessert, creme brûlée which was topped with fresh berries and served with chewy cocoa snowflake cookies. Overall the food was excellent. Service started out a little rocky. I had made a reservation online and it would only let me choose a high top. We don't like high tops so I called the restaurant a few days before and they assured me they could accommodate us with a regular table, not to worry. Upon entering and giving my name for the reservation, the Maitre D'être said it's for a high top. I explained that I'd called and we didn't want a high top. He said he could only offer us a booth in the lounge, so we took it. The lounge had a jazz trio playing and the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. The server had to talk above the music to be heard by us. Luckily they took a break and when they came back the volume was lower. As we were leaving I noticed there was a whole dining room with empty tables which were NOT high tops. So why did they seat us in the lounge? Our drink orders were pretty simple, however because they serve the cocktails from the shaker, the server mixed up the dinks and poured my husband's margarita into my 'dirty' martini glass. So I had a three blue cheese olive margarita! A margarita-tini! He realized what he did, apologized and ran off to get another margarita for my husband. I had eaten the olives and tasted the margarita, which was very good. When he returned, he asked if I still wanted the martini and I laughed and said, yes, that what I ordered. So my husband got the benefit of two Margaritas for the price of one and I got three extra blue cheese olives! That was the only goof up. The rest of the meal was flawlessly served. I felt that even though the prices are high, the portion size and the quality of the food provide a good value. You expect to pay more in a place like this. It was well worth it in my opinion. And if you are there during Happy Hour you can choose cocktails and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu which is quite reasonable.

It's been a while since I had been back and the place has taken a definite turn for the worse. First off, I don't know if it was the heat or smoke or what but the servers (both the one we had and the other one working) seemed surly at best. We were seated under a speaker with music playing too loudly to hear my dining companions. When the server who wasn't ours came over to wipe the table next to us (and showered me with the table cleaning spray) I asked for it to be turned down a bit and was looked at like this was an unreasonable request. Then the Sazerac I had, which you'd think was a safe choice for a place that is a Cajun restaurant, was the worst I've ever had. Watered down and overly sweet is the only way to describe it. The cocktail had to be shaken for it to be so watery and that's a massive failing in bartending. Then, thinking I'd just drink whisky, I asked the server for a whisky list and was told they didn't have one. So I figured I'd just go look at the bar to see what they had and, surprise, a whisky list did exist that I took back to the table. Why the server couldn't have asked the bartender for it, I have no idea. For starters, we had oysters, fried green tomatoes, and the crab dip. The fried green tomatoes are good and have remained a standard. The oysters were also fine but sad to see they no longer have the excellent house made hot sauce they once had (and sold by the bottle). The crab dip was cold under the melted cheese and the bread with it looked barely toasted but somehow tasted burnt. For entree, I had the blackened catfish etoufee, which was so salty as to be inedible. I took one bite and sent it back. Given the mood in there, I declined to swap out for a different entree. Regardless, even with that taken off the bill, this was an incredibly expensive visit for such a disappointingly mediocre meal and experience. I think Muddy Waters is reaching the end of its tenure and my money will be better spent elsewhere in the future.

We celebrated our 10yr anniversary here for dinner & it was definitely worth it. Unblemished ambiance & service. We were at the restaurant side- very chic & intimate. They have a casual tavern area along the bar on the other side. And an upstairs section. When you look up, there's an entire wall of huge wine selection. For cocktails we had the Cosmopolitan & Strawberry Smash-- both prepared great! Cosmos are usually a hit/miss situation for me; this was really good though- not too tart nor sweet-- very well balanced w/ a mild hint of vodka coming through, which after a few sips hits you in a nice, soft way. Husb said the Strawberry Smash was bangin!!-- the sibona amaro in it stabilized the fruitiness of the drink. For apps, we ordered the Calamari- it was soooo good & crispy/crunchy, I had to prevent myself from stuffing everything in my mouth! I was a bit sad I had to share this w/ my husb lol. It came with a hot & sour sauce w/ lemon which overall made the dish unique. For entree, I had the Scottish Salmon, came w/ scallops & I added crab cake to it. Succulent salmon was seared w/ great flavor, the sweet corn & pepper mixed in a tomato vinaigrette on the side under the scallops was just unbelievable. The crab cake was cut squared, hands down one of the best cakes. The flavor profile for the entire dish together in a bite was incomparable!! Definitely order this. Husb ordered the Gerber Farms Chicken, amish chicken served w/ risotto, greens on top of thyme jus (akin to a thin gravy). The chicken was cooked well-- juicy on the inside & a nice roast on the outside; the risotto wasnt heavy & didn't weigh the meal down, the thyme jus's flavor was subtle & it elevated the entire dish. For dessert, we got the Chocolate Hazelnut tart & Eleven Candy bar. I legit relished & inhaled the tart despite already being so full. Husb loved the Candy bar. A huge slice of brownie/caramel candy bar w/ chocolate mousse phew! The pics explain how mindblowin' everything was! A real one-of-a kind experience. Ron was great in explaining everything too. Taxes they add to the bill: sales, alcohol & Allegheny tax which raises the end charge. A toast to the chefs & Mixologists here.

My experiences have not been high-end, perhaps more "tinfoil" than sapphire, to say the least....see below. That being said, it's proven to be a very middling experience each time, especially from a service standpoint. Each time has had mysterious delayed times to get waited upon, receive food and drinks, and every time has featured a mysterious disappearing item that we had to politely "remind" the server about after receiving the bill. On this occasion, we were offered to still receive a missing drink even though it was incredibly clear that we were ready to leave. One time, sure, but all three visits have had issues. This time, when the final bill was corrected, the math didn't seem to make sense - removing a $14 drink and the total came out $5 less. I'm being candid in saying instead of even dealing with the server once more, their tip corrected the discrepancy - no issues in dealing with the situation in that manner, given the sub-par service. Unacceptable and frustrating to have 3/3 times experiencing significant service issues. Food-wise, it's a solid "4" rating - salads have all been great, the dishes we'd recommend are the black cod and the short ribs. Good selection of semi-local beer and extensive wine list. It was noted that the menu had "changed" with the season, but the overall menu was 80% the same with some very subtle modifications - all over a two-year period. First time we went here, we sat at the tables above the bar area, and unfortunately there was a very bar-like smell that could be experienced throughout the meal (imagine having fine dining at the Rock Room on Polish Hill) - thankfully these other two times have been in the main dining area, on nights that haven't been very busy (adding to the frustration regarding the service notes above). Honestly, this is a legacy restaurant here in Pittsburgh, it's a shame that newer places with great food + service have a hard time launching in this environment.
