Food was pretty good! The scalloped potatoes were delicate and flavorful. The ribeye was well marbled, and served with onion straws. The filet mignon was lean and full of flavor. We got the add with the mushrooms and garlic, which is a must. The beef carpaccio was good but it wasn't very flavorful. It is also worth noting that it comes with a horseradish sauce. I am not fond of horseradish sauce. The dressing on the greens in the center also tasted like horseradish. Service was impressive. Everyone came over and was attentive. The food came out quick. There wasn't much of a wait. I am disappointed because the cocktails that i ordered were out of stock. And they have no champagne by the glass, just sparking wine. The restaurant overall is a classy place. There was calming jazz music. White table cloths. We were allowed to come in and dine with baseball attire on. The restaurant was very clean. Bathrooms were clean.

We went for girls night during restaurant week!! For restaurant week you get a starter, I picked the Caesar salad and my friends got the Hyde park wedge. Then you get an entree I got the 6oz filet, my one friend got the salmon filet and the other got the crab cake Oscar. Then you got the flourless chocolate torte for dessert. I do wish they gave another option for dessert. Or a side of ice cream with it because it is very rich and thick! The service was great!! We loved our waiters.

Hyde Park never disappoints! Beautiful, Trendy, excellent service and excellent dinner on nfl draft weekend! The steaks were amazing! All the sides were plentiful and amazing. Caesar salad is yummy. Becky and Cindy were excellent. Took care of our every need. But we forgot our leftovers - so sad! Valet parking too if needed!

Missed opportunities everywhere for my dinner at Hyde Park Prime. Hospitality was excellent, and the dining room had a great feel! But my soup was cold, my friend's steak was cold, and my steak was WAY over cooked. Courses were dropped before others were cleared, etc. Millionaires Potatoes were very tasty, and I loved my wedge salad. Would give it another chance, but there are so many great steakhouses that kill it on a regular basis, that I can't make it a priority to give it another chance.

We arrived and used their valet service ($6 fee), which is super convenient if you hate finding parking downtown like I do. I made reservations for 6:30 on a Saturday, and arrived early, at 6pm. We were seated at around 6:15. It seemed to be a very busy night for them. We were served by 2 waitresses and I don't believe 'service' is where this place shines; especially being a fine dining restaurant. There were long delays in between drinks, ordering, receiving food, and timing of food (btw - you have to ask for bread service - specifically says so on the menu). Specifically, we finished our appetizers before they bothered to take our order. Also, my wife would have never received her soup if she didn't remind the waitress, which ultimately led to our entrees being delivered while she was still eating her soup. And one other thing I found particularly odd was that within the 2 hours we were dining, 3 trays were dropped crashing plates and glasses to the floor. In my 40+ years, I've never witnessed that at any restaurant where I've dined. The food itself was amazing! All of the flavors were delicious, and I commend their cook staff for preparing my steak perfectly. The millionaire potatoes are a must-have! You will easily spend $200-300, before tip, dining here. Overall, the food is awesome but there is plenty of room for polishing-up the experience of dining here. UPDATE - the same day I posted this review I was contacted by one of the managers who profusely apologized for our experience. She asked that I share some additional details and invited me and my wife to return. They sent me a gift card and a personal phone number to call to make a new reservation. I've never had a restaurant extend this level of effort to rectify a poor service experience (some restaurant owners, as you can see for yourself, actually argue with their patrons on yelp). Major kudos to this restaurant and its leadership. We'll definitely pay them another visit. I will update my review again when that happens.

Came in for the second time for Happy Hour at the bar with Dani as our server. The service was great, Dani was very attentive and personable. We began with a bottle of wine followed by the Crispy Shrimp, Calamari and hamburger. All entrees were great and highly recommended. We will definitely continue to come to Hyde Park for both the service and food.

I decided to have a nice meal for my visit to Pittsburgh. I was not disappointed. I chose the early dinner option of surf and turf. The petit filet was seasoned and so tender it melted in my mouth at first taste. The onion rings were so good on the side I could have eaten more they were crunchy and seasoned well. The lobster was delicious as well dipped in butter..amazing. I also had the wedge salad which was good with candied pecans. The hibiscus cosmo was refreshing. Everything was top tier.

Hyde Park was absolutely delicious. It was Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, but I ended up going with the main menu. I was seated pretty quickly at a high top near the bar. The ambiance was very lively and great for a night out with friends or a date night. They had a good selection of Non Alcoholic Cocktails. I ordered the Hibiscus Margarita. It was pretty sweet, but not overpowering. My favorite appetizer was the Lobster Cocktail. It was super flavorful! We finished our meal with the Flaming Butter Cake! Our servers Sage & Phil were fantastic and made the experience amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Thank you!

Hyde Park is the best steakhouse in Pittsburgh. The service is always excellent, I've been there to dine and use the private room for events as well. Their steaks are always cooked and seasoned perfectly, it is my favorite steakhouse hands down.

Awesome spot in downtown Pittsburgh! They had outstanding martinis for $10 during happy hour and $3 off glasses of wine (with an extensive wine menu). We started off with the shrimp cocktail off the happy hour menu. ($13). It came with 3 large shrimp and delicious cocktail sauce. For dinner, we arrived early and did their early bird special. I had their wedge salad and the salmon with mashed potatoes and my husband had French onion soup and the steak. The couple next us to had us try their dessert which was a s'mores like dessert and was excellent. My husband also insisted on ordering the bananas foster which was a whole presentation lit on fire and everything. It was super boozy, whew! The bartender did an amazing job! The bar was pretty crowded during happy hour, but got quiet afterwards. The place itself is very nice, very upscale, old school steakhouse! We enjoyed our experience very much!

Celebrating our anniversary at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse. We came in to rose petals on the table and a signed card from the staff. We started our night with the bacon appetizer. Thick (around 1/2inch) bacon with a sweet maple flavored glaze. The fatty parts melted in your mouth and elevated the whole flavor. Next I ordered a cup of the lobster bisque. The soup was creamy and rich. They added in lobster claw meat when they brought out the soup. I wished there was a bit more, but ultimately this was one of the best lobster bisque soups I've had. For my main I ordered the Steak Rooney. 6oz filet over bordelaise crowned with asparagus, lobster, bearnaise, and wild mushrooms. I ordered the steak rare and my only regret is that I did not get it charred. The additional flavor that it added to my boyfriend's steak. Don't make the mistake that I did! Because it was our anniversary, they offered us dessert. We assured our waiter that we were full and appreciated the gesture but were going to pass. He would not take no for an answer and wrapped us up some treats to go. It was a very busy night and the place was bustling but our waiter was on top of our table the whole time. If you are a steak lover, this is a must visit spot!

    Dat crab meat though

Unfortunately, my most recent visit to Hyde Park wasn't the best. Two of my friends and I made a reservation on a Thursday evening. We ordered off of the restaurant week menu so ordering was quick and easy. Throughout the night, runners would bring food and drink over to our table that wasn't ours. When our food arrived, the orders were wrong. My friend and I both ordered filet Oscar. I ordered the 6 oz medium rare and she ordered an 8 oz medium. Both of the steaks were the same size. In addition, when I cut into mine (a tough cut btw), there was little pink. The steak was almost well done. My friends steak was also almost well done. We told our waitresses about it and they offered to get my friend a larger steak but she just wanted the up charge taken off of the total bill. When our bill came out, it was almost $70 higher than it should have been. We asked the waitress about it who said we needed to speak to a manager. The manager came out, agreed that we were overcharged and updated the bill. It's not the normal service I'm used to at Hyde Park.

Definitely recommend Hyde Park for a great dinner experience. We made a reservation and were seated right away. There are extensive list of cocktail and alcohol menu, for those who love a little something to go with the meal. We had to try their Japanese 100% A5 wagyu and we were not disappointed! It really almost melt in the mouth tender. Lobster tails are a must too for you, seafood lover, it came out fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff provided excellent service, despite the place seemed packed during our visit. We are very impressed with our time here. Will be back

Can we bring a cake for birthday?

I would recommend that you directly call or email the restaurant and ask them about bringing a cake. My guess is that they would indeed allow a cake. I know that they offer private and semi-private dining areas for birthdays, weddings, business…

Do they have valet parking? If so how late is it open for car pickup?

Yes, this restaurant offers valet parking. As of March 2024, the cost for valet parking is $6. I would expect that your vehicle would be picked up no later than the restaurant’s closing hours.…

Would I be able to wear a romper that's white and basically looks like a dress? It's strapless. Also do they do birthday desserts?

A romper would be fine. I was honestly very surprised to see what some people wore here (hats, jeans). HP is known for celebrations and I'm sure there would be birthday dessert and possibly some decor on the table if you called ahead and let them…

    Jeans allowed? How dressy?

Since the days of dress codes are long past, nothing is not allowed. The question is will you feel uncomfortable being dressed more casually than the other diners. Also, 'jeans' covers a wide range of sins, from pretty dressy to downright sloppy.…

We were neglected on several occasions, and it took us 2 HOURS just to get our food order. That's not an exaggeration. Our waitress was rather snippy with us, and ended up apologizing at the end but it did make for an unpleasant experience. When we finally received our bread, we were so hungry that we scarfed it down despite it being not so great sour dough bread. Every dish was flavorless and left us wanting more. I had to send back the steak on two occasions: once for being undercooked and once for being overcooked. I ended up getting my meal for free. The Coquilles St. Jacques had the smallest scallops without the lovely scallop shell its usually served in. The shrimp cocktail tasted like anything you could get at the grocery store. The Nicoise Salad was just sad and flavorless. The porkchop and escargot had the most flavor. I will definitely not be back to this establishment. Scallop Crudo: probably my least favorite dish of the night, ate the whole thing but wouldn't be something I'd get again. Scallops were almost slightly (metallic?) in flavor. Steak tar tar: delish. Very fresh, surprisingly light in flavor. Paired great with the chips. Grilled cabbage Caesar: honestly my favorite dish of the evening. Flavors were perfect, texture was soft but crunchy. I was tempted to order more but had to restrain myself. Half roasted chicken with rhubarb: totally lived up to the hype. Chicken was perfectly cooked, loads of flavor. The creamy farmers cheese on the bottom paired great with the sweet/tartness of the rhubarb. Easily the best chicken dish I've ever had. Rye shortbread: this was our dessert. Greatly enjoyed this. Flavors mingled perfectly. Overall, great experience. Service is top notch. Drinks were good and we were even given free champagne since we were celebrating. Can't wait to come back again. (Apologies for the bad pictures, the red lighting in not camera friendly)

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

Really liked this spot. The staff was great, the location was central, and its very upper crust. Great place for date night, drinks, and fellowship. I definitely will need to try another dish on my next visit.
