We arrived at 5:30 and were quoted a 45-minute wait (possibly less). We stood outside for over an hour. During that time, we watched multiple parties who arrived after us get seated ahead of us--including a two-top seated immediately after we were told we were "next." When we questioned it, staff were defensive and claimed some guests "live nearby," put their names in earlier, and leave to wait for a text. That was never explained on the phone or upon arrival. From what we directly observed, the seating process did not appear first-come, first-served. It appeared selective. Transparency matters, and so does basic courtesy when guests ask legitimate questions. Ten minutes after we finally left--after waiting over an hour--we were told our table was ready. By then, the issue was no longer the wait, but the clear lack of organization and professionalism. We will not be returning.

Where're arrived, the place was packed. That evening, with a band, and full house, they only had 2 bartender/ waitresses, and 1 cook in the kitchen. We ordered a pizza and cheese steak as soon as we got there and didn't receive it for 1 1/2 hours. The food was very good and pizza fresh. Being a past owner of a bar, I would think the owner would have more help in the kitchen and on the floor. We were told that the owner was sitting, listening to the music, and not offering to help the staff. We really enjoyed the live music, the food, and the drinks. But we felt sorry for the staff having to put up with the large crowd. Therefore, I must give the owners a 1 star for his lack of management skills. Kudos to the 3 staff members, one being the owner's wife , the solitary cook in the kitchen.

Upon entering, I greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome from one of the owners, Shay. They have very extensive menu and had a nice variety of food available. There are two benches available to sit down on and wait for you order; however, this is purely a to-go spot, so there were not any dining tables. The prices are consistent with similar restaurants in the city, plus the portions are huge, so no complaints there. Now let's talk food! First, let me say they had some of meatiest, juiciest, lamb chops I've had from a restaurant in a while. Cooked to order, tempature of choice, and flavored sooooo well. Let's get into these candied yams y'all. Bravo to the chef, he made them perfect! Sweet and soft through every bite, and not one ounce of bitterness or crunchiness. We came at the end of night so we missed the Mac and cheese, but I will make sure to come early next time. If you are looking for a place with a little soul and seafood, check them out. Roti's are primarily a Trinidadian / Guyanese dish which and is derived from their East Indian roots. However, being born and raised in NYC, the Jamaican restaurants knew how to properly make Roti, despite it not being their original dish. This was by far one of most egregious and disrespectful attempts at making a "Roti" I've ever seen. This place used store bought, soft taco shells, sprayed with cooking oil, and warmed up in a microwave. Roti flatbread cannot be substituted for any other kind flatbread albeit, Naan, Pita, or Flour Tortilla. It changes the flavor of the dish and renders it a completely different dish. Not only was the preparation of the "Roti" absurd, but the customer service was trash. I requested a copy of my receipt and the lady who prepared my food told me she would text it to me. Not only did she ask me to repeat my number numerous times, but she had 1 earbud in while she was taking my number. Therefore, she was not paying attention. After I inspected my food and decided to leave the restaurant, knowing that there was no use in trying to get my "Roti" order fixed, I realized I still didn't get my receipt. I returned to the front counter and informed her that I didn't get my receipt and she insisted that I repeat my phone number again, slowly. I complied, and as I sit here writing this review, I still do not have my receipt. I will say, all in all, aside from the ludicrous attempt at making roti by using store bought flour tortillas, the curried goat was actually good.

I first fell in love with @cucinavitalepgh back when they were in the South Side, so seeing them open this new space honestly made me so happy. The new location is beautiful, has SO much more room, and still somehow keeps that same feeling that made people love the original in the first place. Also can we talk about the fact every single dish came out literally steaming hot? Not lukewarm 10 minutes in the window hot...actual fresh out of the pan, too impatient to wait before taking a bite hot. I notice little things like that and it makes such a difference. You can tell there's care behind it. One of those spots that reminds you why classic Italian food will always hit.

Kudos to the chef for trying something different with these specialty vegan dishes! The restaurant is tucked away in Foster Plaza among office buildings and I would have never expected to find it there. They have good signage as you wind up the plaza so you know you're on the right track. The restaurant itself is very attractive, Clean, upscale look with white fairy lights. This is a white tablecloth place and would be appropriate for a special occasion as well as a nice any occasion meal. I ordered the full vegan restaurant week special which included a vegan meatball appetizer, pappardelle Bolognese made with red lentils and their freshly made pasta, and dessert which was two black bean brownies with frosting. The marinara on the meatballs was delicious and I would order the marinara here on anything. The meatballs were the size of tennis balls or larger. Great texture and I was only able to eat one if I wanted to eat the rest of my meal. The pasta dish was enormous and I could only eat half of that as well. I was really impressed with the texture and flavors of the lentil Bolognese. They also brought a cup of vegan vegetable soup which wasn't mentioned on the vegan week menu but was absolutely delicious. The brownies probably surprised me most. I couldn't believe these were made from black beans. I took home one of the two and with everything else I had packed up, had an entire repeat of the meal the next day. Very big portions especially if you get a Pasta. My mom ordered cheese ravioli with regular Bolognese sauce and the ravioli was delicious, although not enough for a full second meal like the regular pastas. I also want to mention that they had a couple of mocktails on their menu and I appreciated them being inclusive. I ordered a mocktail mule with ginger beer and raspberry purée which exceeded my expectations. The raspberry purée was really good. You will pay $30-$35 or so for a nice meal here, more if you start getting into some of the meat entrees. I thought that was a fair price for the quality. I will definitely be back.
