    Fogwood Smoky Burger
    Jason P.

I've driven through Port Jervis multiple times. It finally occurred to me that Port Jervis probably had some food businesses worth visiting. Fogwood & Fig, with an overall 5 Star rating in Yelp, really popped from my Search Results. So I stopped for takeout on my way home from a short family trip. F&F identifies in Yelp as a vegetarian restaurant. I'm not a vegetarian, but I appreciate vegetarian meals crafted by talented people. I ordered the "Fogwood Smoky Burger", a lemon and ginger iced tea and a black iced coffee. The plant-based burger was made with smoky black lentils and mushroom. It was stacked with cashew based cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, spicy house pickle, chipotle lime mayo and coconut crisps on a good bun. It was a great looking fully loaded burger, which is part of the joy in eating a burger. It tasted very good too. I'm no expert on plant-based burgers, but this seemed like very good quality. All the toppings worked well together. The housemade spicy pickles were acidic and flavorful. The lemon ginger tea was very satisfying too. I'm not usually a hot coffee drinker, but the black hot coffee was pretty good too. The restaurant was small but cool. All of my interactions with the F&F crew were very positive. They went above and beyond in helping me juggle my drink and water orders. They even gave me an extra water when they understood it was for my dog. If I lived in the area, I would definitely return to explore the menu. Five Stars

Fogwood and Fig!!!! Wow I'm impressed!!! I am gluten sensitive, and today on my visit they were out of gluten free bread. Honestly happy they were because I can easily digest real and true sour dough bread. This bread was INSANE YUM! And it didn't bother my tummy whatsoever! Before I went plant-based, I used to love Reubens. THE best Vegan Reuben EVER created. The service and staff are all incredibly friendly and the place is in a beautiful location of Port Jervis with many shops around. If you would like an adult beverage before your meal, try The Erie across the way.

This was our first time visiting Fogwood & Fig and let me say it was delightful! We both got the special, grilled pineapple BBQ burger... wow! Flavors were amazing We also got the potato salad side and side salad... both flavorful and delicious. Now we don't often get desserts, but they had some homemade goodness! We tried one of each and they were fantastic... even brought a few home! We got to meet the owner Jeff and had a nice conversation... great guy! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great meal!

This fully vegan spot deserves 10 stars! Everything we tried was 10/10 and the service was great as well. The portions were good and the taste was phenomenal. Everything is so decadent yet also healthy. The pasta special was really tasty and the melt sandwich was very filling and surprisingly tasted like meat even though it was a homemade patty and not beyond/impossible. Highly recommend for all Catskill tourists and locals.

One of my favorite places to visit on the weekends. They aren't open during the week, but it just makes me crave it more when the weekend rolls around! They have a great menu, with some seasonal rotating items to try! They are the friendliest staff! The girl at the front counter is so sweet. And they always seem excited to be there. I sometimes don't have time to eat in, but I wish I did because it's a very nice place to spend some time with friends.

Good Burgers, i'm not vegan but would love to go back soon, nice staff, busy place and the burger are all over 10$ but worth it, A little bit pricey though for everything all in all.

It doesn't get better than this Quinoa chickpea bowl + handsome Cowboy Jack = love

Great music, simple yet inviting setting to have the most delicious lunch. Everything on the menu is delicious, flavorful, and you'll want to have again. The specials run out fast so get there early.

Wow, what a delightful gem to randomly find! I was coming back from the Poconos and this showed up as a vegan option along my route. I am so glad I stopped in. I got a delicious smoky burger on a gluten-free bun and I was in heaven. The only bummer was they had no GF baked goods that day. But oh man! This was the best veggie burger I've ever had, and I've had...so many. It was so flavorful and the sauces were delicious and all the toppings were great. I was in heaven. And the bun was great too! I was nervous they would be super busy given they are only open on weekends but at 1pm on a Sunday they had a few open spots and I was able to sit outside. It's a very cute place and in non-covid times I would definitely post up there for a while. I was sad that they don't have fries, though. That would really seal the deal. Please??!

Every time I've eaten here the food has been amazing. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian but I love good food in general, so it doesn't matter to me whether it has or doesn't have meat. The staff here are always pleasant, calm and attentive. The food comes out extremely fast, and the decor is cute and cozy. It's a small place but I've always been able to have a seat. The photo attached are tacos that were on their specials for the day, and they were so seasoned. They were more than enough if you're moderately hungry and if you're starving they also have sides on their menu you can try. I've been extremely full every time I've eaten here and love catching them when they're open. My only complaint is they aren't open during the week!

Ate here tonight. All I can say is Wowzer. I am not vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and I thought the food was great. Had Smokey burger. A winner. Wife had patty melt. Also outstanding. Cheesy Quesadilla - was good, not particularly "cheesy" yet still nice with sriracha giving it a kick. Finished with Chocolate cream cake which was more like pie - name aside it was really good too. Add to that service was extremely welcoming (it's a small intimate place) and friendly. We will make this a regular stop.

I looked up online best vegan restaurants in Hudson Valley and came across this. My husband and I drove for about an hour and I guess it was all worth it. Delicious food, great ambience and very nice staff. I would love to visit it again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

One of my toxic traits is that I judge books by their covers; I also do that with restaurants, and…read moreit burned me here. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon with one of my top-tier chums for a post-Port Jervis exploration/walk nip, deciding that out of all of the places we'd walked and/or driven by, this looked the most intriguing and certainly the most historic. One brief moment of validation occurred before we even entered - after walking through the downtown area and encountering pretty much a ghost town, we found a ton of locals in the outdoor patio/seating area here having a rollicking good time. Pretty decent endorsement, but it was quickly downhill from there. As soon as you walk in, you can tell that the majority of ye olde charm has been replaced; for instance, there's some wood paneling over the bar area that's relatively new - I was expecting something that looked pretty historic inside but in my opinion that wasn't the case. I'm not sure how much of a negative that necessarily is, but if you're walking into an establishment like this expecting to be transported to the 1890s, you're going to be disappointed. There's definitely some history, but it's not going to conjure up handlebar mustaches and victrolas. I ordered the Port Old-Fashioned off the cocktail menu; I was a little leery because it cited mulled oranges, but beyond that the description was dictionary definition. The drink itself was not. As you can see from the accompanying picture, the cocktail was practically red; I can't say for sure because I didn't witness the preparation, but it certainly looked and tasted as if it had Fireball in it rather than straight-up Bourbon. Really strange, and made it morph into a kegger drink for me. And the mulled oranges were definitely a mistake; I knew what I was getting into in that regard, so that part of the experience is certainly on me, but there's a reason this drink is supposed to have an orange peel essentially as a garnish and not a full-on part of the beverage. Really odd and I hate to say it, but probably the worst Old-Fashioned I've ever had. We had a young female bartender who was very nice/hospitable, which is the only reason this isn't a dumpster fire one-star review. She was the only one behind the bar, which was decently packed, and held her own. Our visit was relatively brief - we stopped for just the one drink before heading home across the border - but had no issues service-wise. We were able to order promptly, and received our beverages shortly thereafter. Unfortunately as mentioned, the actual drink was pretty bad, and I'd strongly recommend additional training in that capacity. Some of the intangibles are there, so I think this could be rectified. The Port Jervis residents clearly like this place a lot, so I have to assume they're staying away from the cocktail I had and enjoying either other drinks or the food (which neither of us sampled). And the price point is reasonable as well - I think my drink was $12 - but you ARE getting what you pay for. My recommendation? Head over to Jersey and drive the 29 minutes to the Walpack Inn, which is literally never on the way to anything except in this instance, and has much better menu options and legit rustic ambience.

We waited a few minutes but finally left as the BLAT,BLAT,BLAT of the alarm was excruciating to the slight headache I had entered the dining area with. Fire trucks showed up but it was established to be a false alarm. Something they should have let the patrons know right away. I felt we should have been partially compt. for the meal since we only finished half of it before we left. I don't think I will go back as I felt the whole situation was handled poorly. They need better safety protocols for such situations. Laughing and joking while patrons are confused as to what to do is a serious violation of ethics to say the least. Get it together erie hotel!
