I love this place. Pedro, Quinn, and Brenda are always ready to showcase their best. I switched my membership from Sebastiani to this winery as everything they pour is better than the last. Started writing this review like last year and never finished it. So the people listed above may no longer be there. Haha. So much changes in one year, but you know what still remains solid? Great wine! It's made by even better wine makers with the entire team production, and sold by front of house staff. This one, Clos Pegase and the Castle are my favorite places. read more

We were very excited to visit this winery after seeing the pictures online, love the modern aesthetic with the full glass building. It was a chilly January afternoon. We very much enjoyed our tasting and the charcuterie plate we ordered ahead of time. Lost of great wines and variety in varietals. The building was beautiful, the staff was friendly, informative and we loved the wines. The grounds are also beautiful with the January cover crops coming in between the vineyards. We picked up a bottle of the sangiovese but will come back for many more wines in the future. read more

We loved this place. Beautiful view from the tasting room. Sampled a tasty toasty Chardonnay that was not buttery that was singular. A wonderful chalky Sauvignon blanc was exceptional. This was not on the tasting panel but we were offered a taste of a Uruguayan red wine and it was a nicely chewy and robust wine (Tanner). Our host was exceptional and very well informed and fun! Highly recommend the tasting! Especially if you go at noon after a 100 year storm! read more

While recently celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary, my husband George and I thought it would be a cool idea to stop by the winery that bought Stryker. We had our wedding and reception at Stryker and were longtime wine club members, so we wanted to see what the new winery was like compared to Stryker. At one point, we belonged to many wine clubs in Sonoma Valley. Stryker was one of our favorites. The amazing location, the staff, and of course the wine made Stryker one of the premier wineries in the area. As we approached the parking lot, we were very surprised to see that there were no cars, so we wondered if they were closed. No, they weren't closed, but they might as well have been because the customer service was so abysmal that we wish we hadn't wasted our time. We entered an empty tasting room except for one employee. Looking forward to what we believed would be a nostalgic experience, we announced to the employee that we were married at Stryker and were celebrating our wedding anniversary. To our surprise, the employee asked if we had reservations. We pointed out that there was no one else in the tasting room. The canned response was something like 'we have a lot of reservations later, so I'll have to check with my manager to see if we can fit you in.' At that point, we were like, really? And then he told us the exorbitant tasting fee. I have to admit we haven't gone tasting in Sonoma Valley in a while, but when did it become Napa West? And what's up with not offering wine by the glass? At that point we just left in disgust. Well, at least we have our beautiful memories of our Stryker days. This place is awesome, and I can't recommend it enough!!! The grounds, architecture, and wine are all phenomenal. Our entire group of 8 loved this winery, and 2 couples even joined the wine club! We were given a private tour by Pedro (he was awesome). Pedro was super knowledgeable about their wine, the region, the wine making process, and the list goes on. He was able to answer all of our questions and even let us taste some grapes straight from the vine. The tour took us out to the vineyard, to their open-air production area, to their gorgeous barrel room, and then inside to a private lounge area for our group of 8. We were also super impressed by their prices - much more reasonable than many of the other wineries we visited. Our favorite Rose was only $22 a bottle here - so we ordered a case! I cannot day enough great things about this winery. It is gorgeous, staff are friendly and helpful, prices are great, and wine was awesome. I can't wait to visit this winery again!! read more

Really like this winery. We are members at Firestone in Los Olivos, so on a recent trip to Napa we stopped by Foley Sonoma that used to be called Stryker, until Mr. Foley (aka the Chairman) decided to purchase them. The grounds are awesome, the winery is beautiful, the staff is very pleasant and friendly, and the location is primo. We really enjoyed our time sitting out on the patio and having lunch while they brought us tastings of the flight. Best part about the Foley Food and wine society is that tasting is free at all the Foney properties. We did purchase a case that they had on special of the Stryker Cab in the Dayton vineyard. It was a good price with $.01 shipping. Although we didn't taste that wine before purchasing, I was pleased with it. read more

What a magnificent location and winery. We attended a Friday Art & Wine event at Foley Winery (they have these events over the summer, check out Facebook for their event calendar). It was our first time at this winery and we were warmly welcomed. There was a small tasting of wine available for free but they were open for additional purchases during the event. They provided delicious snacks for guests (bonus-it was free). The vibe was a relaxing one with great live music and art on display to enjoy. The views from the winery are spectacular. We were honored to have experienced a barrel tasting which was my first time ever. It was a highly educational but entertaining tour and we got to enjoy some tastings right from the barrels. It was very obvious to me that Foley and its winemakers and employees take great pride in what they do. They are very passionate about delivering magnificent wines. I highly recommend you check this winery out and come out to their Friday Night summer events. read more

By the time we reached Foley Sonoma, we were feeling a bit satiated from tasting at its sister wineries of Chalk Hill and Roth. The venue is spacious and very pleasant. Frank, who was pouring, was a genial host and we enjoyed chatting with him. We found comfortable chairs by the fireplace (gas was off) and settled into our tasting. This was indeed more of a "tasting" than a "drinking" experience as several of the wines I poured out after only a sip or two. We began with the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc ($24). Not memorable. On my 1 to 5 scale, I only gave this wine 2 stars. We moved on to 2017 Rose of Pinot Noir ($22). Roses have become more popular the last few years. IMO best on a warm summer day. I gave this wine one more star than the Sauvignon Blanc, perhaps just because it was different. The six reds we tasted were decent enough but did not stand up to the wines from Chalk Hill or Roth. But in fairness they were more "midrange" in price than those from Chalk Hill or Roth. On a scale of 1 to 5, I gave 3's to the Malbec, the Merlot, and the Petit Verdot. The 2014 Malbec ($40) was 97% Malbec and 3% Tannat. Tannat was new to us. (More about that below). DH declared the 2014 Merlot ($38) a "comfortable" wine. A compliment coming from him as he usually does not favor Merlots. We were both looking forward to the Petit Verdot ($38) as they are not too common. DH deemed it "likeable, not excitable." I gave 4 stars to three of the reds: the Zinfandel, the Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Tannat. The 2014 Old Vine Zinfandel ($40) was very mellow. And it was properly labeled as "old" as it was from 135 year old "ancient" vines. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon ($40) was a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 19% Petit Verdot. Our final pour of the day was the 2014 Tannat ($36). As pointed out to us, it is a wine that requires food. We bought a bottle and look forward to having it with roast beef. While it won't compare to higher end cabs, it will be enjoyable. Glad we stopped by Foley Sonoma. Some interesting wines, but nothing to shout about. read more

We got there late on a Sunday with a large group that was touring for our wedding that weekend. They were empty, but still had an hour before close. Was disappointed with the service as it was apparent they staff would rather be closed then serve us. We had to keep going to the tasting bar to get service rather then them checking on us outside. And outside because the deck is very nice, the weather was nice and we were told to go out because we were making too much noise. Granted we were laughing out loud (we had been tasting all day) and one other couple came in and was at the far end of the tasting bar. We even asked if we were disturbing them and they said no "looks like you are having fun, and we are good with that." But we were still asked to go outside. The wine was fairly good, but not necessarily my favorite. read more

I'm a Vegas Golden Knights Season ticket holder and was extremely excited to visit this vineyard for tasting during my visit to Healdsburg. We all know how well Bill Foley has done in the city of Las Vegas, so I imagined the wines and service to be amazing. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in my visit. While the facilities are beautiful and modern, all glass and concrete, our winery host was unfriendly and condescending. We arrived several hours before the closing time of the tasting room. The service was slow, waiting twenty minutes between pours. The room wasn't crowded, maybe 2-3 other groups tasting, plus another employee was helping 2 of the other groups. We didn't even finish our tasting because the delay was time consuming and we just were not enjoying it. Parking was easy and the restrooms were clean and accessible. But, I probably won't visit again. read more

This was our second winery of the day. I give it 5 stars for the venue and service. Pedro served us and was a sweetheart. There was a cozy fireplace on the inside. Since we had our one year old with us we decided to sit outside so that we wouldn't disturb other customers. Pedro lit the outside fireplace for us where there was also a beautiful view of the valley and other vineyards. I would actually give 3.5 or 4 stars for the wines. We don't usually like over oaked whites so we really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The reds were nice, but not bold enough for our taste. read more

This past visit was a tremendous experience. Pedro really made it special with the knowledge and superior customer service he generously shared with us. The 2014 tannat, malbec and petit verdot were a great find. These grapes are typically used for blends so it is fun to find a winemaker that can do a great job of having them stand on their own. My husband and I loved to frequent Stryker when in Sonoma... we stopped by a few minutes ago and walked into the "Open" tasting room to stand around for 10 minutes without anyone in the tasting room. I walked around a little to find someone and found no one. Both my husband and I pour wine at wineries on the weekends.... if you are advertised as Open, please have someone in your tasting room. Especially to let us know what happened to Stryker. Did not have any service let alone any wine. Left after 10 minutes of seeing no one in sight. Won't be back. read more

This is a very nice looking winery but not customer friendly. We wanted to have a glass of wine but they only offer a bottle service or wine tasting. We didn't do either so we were asked to leave when we tried to sit at the terrace to enjoy the view just because we didn't do either. Wine was delicious, they have tables outside where you can sit and drink wine that you purchase inside, and you can bring your own food which is awesome. However, if you want to do the tasting, you have to go inside. It would be nice if you could do the tasting outside while you munch on snacks. read more

We ended our day at Foley Sonoma. We had a group of 16, so our new friend Duff gave us the most amazing private space. After wine tasting all day, this was the perfect place to end the day. Our French Bulldog Albert was given the royal treatment with his own water bowl, and took the time to chill on the lovely lawn. Wine was delicious, service was outstanding. This was absolutely a perfect day. Thank you Duff and all the staff at Foley Sonoma. I hope to return soon. read more

Loved the tasting room, the views, the fact that this was one of the few wineries participating in the Winter Wineland event that offered a delicious food pairing (butternut squash soup), but what made it really special was our wine guy, Pedro. The winery was recently sold to Foley Sonoma.....and while I really, really want to believe the folks at Stryker who stayed on and swear that nothing will change (many left when the sale happened a few months ago), I'm not sure that the winery is going to maintain the same small, family-owned vibe. I went to their annual "Dinner in the Vineyards" event for wine club members and guests a few years ago and fell in love. The setting is spectacular - unlike other wineries that have similar events, you are literally sitting at tables that are set up on the ground amongst the vines while a guitarist entertains. The food was incredibly fresh, simple but well-flavored, very "farm to table", and served family style. Serving dishes were constantly refilled and the wine flowed freely. Very memorable night and I recommended this event to all my friends. Fast forward a few years to the event held a few weeks ago.....same great setting but the impression I had was that the new owners are already trying to cut costs. The appetizers were tasty but the main courses were disappointing (a cheaper caterer?), portions were smaller and dishes were refilled only on request, wine was served sparingly, etc. Very disappointing and not worth the money..... read more

My husband and I were out wine tasting on New Year's Day. This was one of the few wineries open and therefore we decided to stop by. The young man pouring admitted right off the bat that the other person that was supposed to come in, called in sick. Knowing you are the only one there to pour, it makes sense to not sit and chat longer than necessary with each customer. However while nice, he would stand and chat with customers for minutes on end. My husband and I would patiently wait for our next pour. After the third wine and waiting for ten plus minutes felt this was a waste of time. We left $20 cash for the tasting and left. As someone who worked in customer service for 10 years, make sure your customers are happy and don't ignore them. Especially in the wine industry. read more

My gf and I in mid-August visited Stryker (now Foley Sonoma, as it was acquired in April), and had an absolutely lovely time! It was our favorite in all of Sonoma by a decent margin. The vineyard was recommended by a work colleague who is very much an expert, and I'm glad we took the advice! The settings inside and outside were beautiful, and we were lucky to be some of the only ones there (Monday morning), and sat on the patio outside. The wines were all fantastic and well worth the price. In particular their more french varietals were a real treat. Heather took care of us, and was an absolute charm. I really could not recommend it highly enough. Don't listen to the people below who complained about the "fine print" of minimum orders for the club- it's listed very explicitly in the brochure and is how most wine clubs operate. The vineyard is in Alexander Valley and so a bit far away from Sonoma Plaza, but there are many other great places in the area. read more

Rebekah planned and executed my big birthday party there for 40 friends and it was a smashing success. Food, tables, party favors, games, music, wines, etc. She oversaw it all and in between she and Mario poured wine and chatted with our guests, charming every one with their knowledge of the wines and their warmth.
