Robert Young Estate Winery is a must stop on any trip to Sonoma County at the top of Alexander Valley!! The wines are all off-the-charts good and the location is heavenly. Stop by for a wonderful glass of wine or a tasting (or for an extra special treat their Scion tasting)! What makes it even more special is the staff...young Robert, Amy, Scott and Jo are all very accommodating and knowledgeable about the various wines and they make every visit really fun! You definitely won't want to leave!! As a matter of fact, on that note, my husband and I stayed in their gorgeous guest house for 2 nights! You won't be disappointed with a tasting, or a stay, at this very beautiful little slice of heaven on earth!! Enjoy!!

Absolutely incredible vineyard, views, staff and wine! This is a must if you are anywhere near Alexander Valley. I highly suggest a tour of this historic estate. Hearing the stories of how this vineyard came to be was thoroughly enjoyable and added extra depth to every taste of the wine. Jo was a phenomenal tour guide and host! Exploring the wine cave where they store the wine was such an innovative creation, you must check it out!

This was our favorite winery when we visited Napa this year. Gorgeous views and incredible wine. Highly recommend!!!

This was my second visit to RY and we had a great time. I wanted to take a friend visiting from out of town because of the views and great wine tasting options for her preferences (no Chardonnay for her). Leah took such good care of us and I ended up becoming a member. My friend even got a treat for her birthday. We can't wait to visit again!

Our tasting was scheduled for a 1 1/2 hour tasting on a rainy day in February. We were greeted at the door and welcomed inside the Scion House. We were seated in a cozy room with a view of the vineyards. We had a charcuterie board and an assortment of wines including Rose, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We had a wonderful time chatting with our host and sampling the signature wines from the Robert Young Estate Winery. Before we knew it, we were there for 2 hours. Staff were very professional and courteous. We did not feel rushed, rather we felt relaxed and appreciated. Definitely going to be a regular stop for us. Highly recommend it.

I highly recommend the Robert Young Estate Winery! Located in Alexander Valley, Robert Young has an incredible view! We enjoyed a tasting on their patio. Since it was our first stop, we also got the food pairing which was delicious. Our host was friendly and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed learning about the Robert Young family as well as the wines. Their wines are approachable and well-rounded. And, in my personal opinion, the wines have gotten better over the years. This is a tasting experience you won't want to miss!

From the moment your arrive you are greeted with a glass of wine at the entrance. The views over the valley are stunning g and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The winery is very clean and the outside area has a fire pit and heaters. RY swines are only sold at the winery, so if you like something buy it during your tasting. I recommend the charcuterie board to elevate your tasting experience and ask to try the Melon, it's a delicious light and fun white... and the story behind it's creation is great!

Had a wonderful weekend in wine country, and this was one of our favorite wine tasting experiences. First of all, the wine was all excellent - got a bottle of their flagship Scion Cabernet Sauvignon, which was amazing, the Malbec, which was delicious, the AV Cabernet Sauvignon, which was also incredible, and the Sauvignon Blanc, which was also really good. Second, the tasting room, patio and view was stunningly beautiful, Third, our wine pourer, Harry, was out of this world. He has a background and experience in the wine industry, and was really knowledgeable, but also incredibly funny, We could have hung out with him all afternoon bantering and sipping wine. Nicki Young, part of the Young family, was also so accommodating and helpful, even calling our next wine tasting appointment to let them know we were running a little late. A really memorable tasting, and will absolutely return next time we come to the area!

When I tell you that my friend and I were hooked from beginning to end during our tasting, I am not kidding you. Reece was absolutely phenomenal and so was our entire tasting experience at Zialena. After passing by Zialena several times on my trips to DeLorimier, my friend and I finally decided to check them out for a tasting. You know I have to start off with their estate and grounds. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I will always be a fan of classic winery setups, BUT... I LOVED the modernized look of Zialena! The exterior of their building alone is so eye catching and unique. And then you walk inside and think, damn this place is so chic and hip! I love the artwork, I love the stylish tables and chairs with the bright orange seat cushions, I love the youthful and fun atmosphere and vibe. It's just wonderful. Those views! I underestimated how great they'd be because you can't see much from the outside. But once you're sitting on their patio, the views seem to be endless. Countless views of the hills and their beautiful vineyards. It helped that it was a stunning day outside too. Reece set us up on their side patio which was glorious. Now about this wine; fan-freakin-tastic! I loved every single wine that I tried. All were scrumptious. I'll get more into the wines in a bit, but first I'm gonna tell you a little bit about what I learned from Reece. Although the actual tasting room is newish, the winery is a fourth generation run operation by the Mazzoni family. The family hails from Italy and they've been harvesting grapes and producing wine for years. The winery is actually named after their Great Aunt Lena (Zia Lena in Italian). Mark and Lisa (sister and brother) are the owners and they also run the winery. Zialena grows grapes for over 90 different varietals and all of them are estate grown! That's right; those vineyards that surround their property are actually their own. They use whole cluster fermentation to produce their wines which basically means that they ferment the grapes with the stems (the stems aren't removed). This allows for more of an elaborate flavor profile in their wines. They also ferment in concrete with the top open. Never really heard of open top fermentation prior to coming here, but it allows for more oxygen to come in contact which helps with faster yeast production amongst other things. Alright, let me take my geeky wine brain hat off for a second. Reece had us completely engaged during this tasting. I literally started taking notes because it was so much interesting information. But those wines, dear GEEZUS! So, so good. Their unique fermentation techniques really paid off because their wines are so rich and complex. We tasted one welcoming white wine (Sauvignon Blanc) and 4 reds which were all incredible. The Cappella Red Blend was to DIE for and undoubtedly my favorite wine of the bunch. The spices were so pronounced but yet the wine went down oh so smooth. Took a bottle of that and I don't think it even lasted a few days. Reece was so knowledgeable and confident. This man probably could have sold us the earth and we would have bought it. Seriously. So engaging and we loved it. But wow, I'm impressed. Zialena is a one of a kind.

I don't normally drink wine but came for the olive oil and the experience and it did not disappoint! I also eventually changed my mind that red wine can be good:) We were seated indoors and Edd gave us the rundown of what we'd be tasting for the afternoon complete with stories and lots of fun facts. (I now look at any bottles that say "cold pressed" with some light skepticism since it's clearly only written there for marketing purposes!) We ordered a selection of the panini sandwiches, the burrata and butternut squash salad, and the charcuterie board. The fire cheese was delicious and the spread was perfect. Throughout lunch, Edd brought us different wines to taste and by the end we were most definitely sold on the Stone Soup (the red version). The olive oil tasting was so much fun. First of all the bread was so delicious. And then we tasted about 15 (?) different olive oils or vinegars. The raspberry, lemon, and garlic ones were clear favorites. My personal favorites were the garlic and sage. Even though it was a bit of a rainy & cloudy day, the views from the patio were beautiful. We finished our wine out by the fire pit outside, and now I really need to come back during the summertime when the skies are more clear for the full experience. I left with lots of olive oil and great Christmas gifts for the family. The four piece olive oil sets are perfect for that and I brought one home for my family and we did our own inspired mini taste testing (I still miss Trattore's bread tho). 10/10 recommend and yes I definitely want to come back for the summer views and this pizza oven I keep reading in all the other reviews:))

They also have it set up where you can play bocce ball or you can sit in Adirondack chairs to sip your wines. The building that they have for events is an original building. I can't remember the year, but it was 1800 something which is a great backdrop to your relaxing with a glass of wine. We ended up here because we decided to pick a random vineyard to try while we were in Healdsburg. I signed up for a tasting and noted that it was my birthday that we were celebrating. When we arrived, they had a special treat for us, a glass of their sparkling Brut which was delicious! Because it was my birthday they set us up in the tasting room in the photo I have attached which is also a special treat! The view from this room was spectacular overlooking their expanse of vineyards and Mount Saint Helena!! Tonya was amazing! She guided us through all of our tastings, which actually was quite a few at this particular vineyard. And we even got super lucky that the founders son, who now runs, the vineyard was there he even stopped by to chat with us for a bit! Another thing that I really liked about this tasting as they give you snacks to pair with the wines throughout your tasting but you can also buy larger snacks if you wish. My husband and I agreed that the Cabernet Franc and the Primitivo were our favorites! Another fun thing about this vineyard is they make and sell their own olive oil. We, of course, joined the membership ordered a case of wine and took home some olive oil! It was a fantastic day!
