They can even "delivery" your pizza to fiddlehead for you. I had the seasonal Surf & Turf pizza - olive oil base, four cheese blend, scallops, bacon, parsley, lemon zest. I cannot say enough good things about this pizza. Crust was great, the pie itself was super flavorful, and cooked to perfection. If you enjoy scallops do yourself a favor and order this before summer is gone and it's off the menu!! They offer a huge variety of customizations, including GF crust which was appreciated for my spouse. They serve a thin crust pizza with endless combinations of toppings. Their menu is very limited beyond pizza. I ordered 3 different versions of their chicken wings. The BBQ style was tasty however, the rub and buffalo wings were not. As for their pizza, the sauce was thick and not very flavorful. The crust was crispy and had a nice texture. Folino's is delicious and it's connected to Fiddlehead brewery which is a bonus! You order at the counter, they give you a number, and you can have a seat in the brewery and wait for your food while enjoying your beer. We ordered a large Caesar salad, 2 diet cokes, chicken wings, and a pizza with a few toppings, which cost over $80, which we thought was a bit pricey. Hanging over you as you wait for your food, there is a Wendell Berry poem reminding you that the stars and the herons and other wild things "do not tax their lives with forethought of grief." My partner and I had ample time to read, ponder, and ponder again. We came to the conclusion that Folino's wields the poem as a sort of psychological weapon. We ordered two small pizzas. We were told they would take 15 to 20 minutes to make. Folino's was not busy. When the 20 minute mark hit, we looked around, and I pointed out to my partner that it looked like two pizzas had just gone into the oven. We read the poem again. At the 30 minute mark, when the two pizzas came out, I got a look at them, and they looked like exactly what we had ordered. I smiled, glad to be filling my growling belly soon, and read the poem one last time. Wendell Berry urged "peace." I waited for the cashier to call our name. Another ten minutes passed. Workers laughed with each other, and more pizzas went into the oven. I gathered my shame -- Wendell Berry says worries are unnatural things! -- and asked the cashier for an update on our order. She told us they were working on it. I read the poem again. Imagine our surprise when, one full hour after we'd placed our order, the cashier walked to the *original* two pizzas we'd seen go into the oven, and finally call our name. They'd been sitting on the counter for 30 minutes, enjoying their own "peace." Does Folino's think reminding us that wild animals would gladly eat cold pizza is going to convince us their service is good? That it's the natural state of the world? Awesome, awesome pizza. Just wrote a review for Fiddlehead. We sat in the brewery and had Caesar Salad and a Margharita pizza with prosciutto. F'f'ng'tastic. Seriously, one of our favorite meals we had in Burlington. The pizza was perfectly thin and had the perfect crispiness. The sauce (and I'm picky) was on point. If anything the prosciutto was a tad salty (super thirsty later) but many times it is. The Caesar, and this is a big statement, was one of the best Caesar's we''ve had, rivaling an Italian place back home. Just loved it. This has been, and remains, our families favorite pizza. With Fiddlehead beer next door (yes - you can bring growlers over!) and Shelburne Winery across the street (Yep- you guessed it. Bring those bottles here too!) you can't beat it. They have great speciality pizza combos or build yourself. Salads are large and feed a lot! Things to note which are no big deal but over seen other reviews of complainers: you have to grab your own plates and silverware on the side. If you want water, you have to grab yourself. They don't have traditional wait staff -- only folks delivering food to your table. It's nothing fancy inside - but does have lovely outside seating. I call this the trifecta when we are here ! This place is small and the dining area basic. Their menu is simple but delicious. They are expensive but worth it as it's some of the best pizza I've ever had. I ordered the Truffle Pig which had an olive oil base, four cheese blend, asparagus, bacon, truffle oil. I added prosciutto and buffalo mozz to make it a Super Sev. The ambience of this place is alright they've got some tables inside that are cute and some space outside to sit. I went when they were busy and it did take a long time, which would make sense but it took a reaalllllyyyty long time. The prices are pretty high and it doesn't appear that they use local ingredients so I'm not sure why they're that high. It's a lot of self serve stuff so you don't interact much with the employees. On the receipt, an email address is provided for feedback. I sent a version of the below and got absolutely no reply, so I felt I should provide a review. We traveled up for the week, and had about 30 restaurants we were interested in. Narrowing them down was difficult, but this one piqued our interest because of the vegetarian sausage and outside seating. This was our first meal in VT in 10 years. We arrived in the afternoon, having already decided what we wanted, and were told 30-35 minutes. We were not told where to find plates and silverware, nor notified of any adverse conditions. We noticed that no one else had any food, and small children were very antsy. Our time estimate came and went, as did several others who checked to see why their food was so late. Apparently, they were told that waitstaff were also cooking. We never did get plates or silverware, which would not have been the end of the world. The waitress arrived with the pizza, and she apologized that the ranch we ordered on the side was accidentally put all over the pizza. Her only offer to rectify this was to remake the pizza, which obviously was not an option for us after so much time (about one hour from ordering). I was just as disappointed about this as I was about the room temperature food we were finally served - I can't stand ranch. We could not believe that the pizza was barely warm after how long waited (other customers reflected the same happened to them). It was good, but the almost undetectable amount of vegetarian sausage made us wish we had not spent $3 to add it. It was actually very difficult to find any on any of the pizza. We would have been more than happy to pick up our own pizza so it'd be much more timely and actually hot. This situation used up most of our afternoon, left us full of regret, and also hungry. We took the pizza home to heat it up another time. We were especially disappointed given the cost of restaurant meals, and how careful we are to spend our dining dollars wisely. We are also cautious about less healthy foods, so it's even worse when we get food that is neither worthwhile nor good for us. We certainly understand the problem of short staffing (especially since we both work in a field which has been at crisis-level staffing for years, and yet we continue to give our all), but there is no excuse for our not being warned up front, given a reasonably accurate estimated wait, or being kept up to date. Something could have been done to make the situation better after the multiple issues we encountered. There was never an explanation or apology for why the food was not warm nor for the delay. If we had known that this visit would take so long, we could have ordered and picked up the pizza later. If we knew that the food wouldn't be warm, that we'd pay extra for a tablespoon of a topping on a whole small pizza, or that we'd get a topping one of us does not eat on the pizza, we certainly would have kept driving. It's even worse to get no reply to a message describing all of this. Be warned. Even incredible pizza wouldn't be worth this. Another week later: I also used the "contact us" on their website to submit this issue. I got zero reply. Obviously, they do not care. We also realized that because you tip up front, we gave a generous tip for literally NO service. We had no idea we would barely ever be brought the pizza, cold and incorrect, no water, no plates or silverware. The receipt even says "no ranch!!" with 2 exclamation points. read more
