We explained that we were happy to split into two or three separate tables, with no more than 3-4 people at each table, and that no tables needed to be rearranged. The answer was still no. The biggest issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. The hostess rolled her eyes and treated us with a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. If this was truly the restaurant's policy, it should have been communicated consistently from the start and by all staff to all the other customers too. Our group has been dining together at restaurants around the area almost every day over the past few weeks, and we've never been treated this way anywhere else. We left and took our business elsewhere.

I'll preface this with, this is coming from a concerned citizen and is more of an issue I have with how business is being conducted than with the actual quality of the food. I've lived and worked in the neighborhood for years now and am well-aware that the notorious "Murder Mart" is a major pit stop for drug-users, drunks and drug-dealers, but this actually surprised me: 2 or so days ago, I was working and stoppeded to get cigarettes when I noticed that a silver Ford sedan with the Junior's Logo on the hood of the car was stopping for gas. Well, in the span of about 30 seconds, I watched the car pull up to the pumps, the driver (short, pudgy white guy) hop out, run over to another car with cash in his hand, stuffing something into his pocket on the way back to his car. He promply ran back to his car, sped in and then sped off without (it looked like) even getting any gas. I'm not a detective. Things like this are part of what can make "Murder Mart" scary to go alone to at night and I and I'm sure many other people are tired of seeing it. We're all used to seeing drug deals in the parking lot by now, but the fact that a delivery driver for a business literally on the same block thought it would be okay to do this is probably a sign that things are getting out of hand. read more
