My friend and I stopped in here for lunch while we were in Burlington. This restaurant is located almost next door to Nectar's, the birthplace of jam band Phish! We knew we would probably be going out to dinner later that night and cider tasting, so we were looking for a budget friendly meal. The sign out front drew us in, it was just under $7 for two slices and a soda. Perfect! My friend added some meat toppings, but I think it only increased the price by $1-2. I may currently live in FL, but I spent 30+ years in NY, so I'm fussy about my pizza. I ordered two slices of cheese. I'm always a bit nervous to get an individual slice since they have sometimes been sitting a while (at some establishments), I usually prefer a fresh pie. No complaints here though! We grabbed a seat and waited a few minutes for our slices to come out. I'm happy to say that the slices were quite good! The perfect amounts of sauce, cheese and grease. I was pleased! We didn't partake, but I think it's great that Junior's sells locally made Citizen Cider. We stopped into that brewery later in the day and really enjoyed tasting various flavors. If I'm back in town and looking for a quick and reasonably priced bite to eat, I'll be here!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the pizza here. I'm always skeptical of "New York Style" pizza places, having grown up in NYC, but the slice I had was decent! The crust had a nice crunch and seasoning to it, even though it wasn't warmed up as hot as I would've liked. The staff was friendly and the place had your typical pizza parlor feel. I would come back here again

    By the slice!

Stopped at this pizzeria on Main St, glad I did! Excellent Buffalo chicken and pepperoni slices. Don't know what they did but I was impressed! Hope its that good every night. Hope to go back soon.

I decided to try Junior's Downtown after hearing good things about it. Unfortunately the $20.00 Philly cheese steak was a complete disappointment. We ordered delivery and the pizza was cold when it arrived, there was a dusting of shredded steak, the cheese wasn't even fully melted and the dough wasn't even cooked all the way. For a $20 12" specialty pizza, I would have expected a much better product. If you're considering dropping $20 on a specialty pizza there are much better places in the area. Next time I'll stick with DiGiorno.

We were looking for some great NY style pizza while visiting Burlington for a wine & food festival. Checked the map and found Piesanos. The pizza was great - just what we were looking for as it had been a while since we had good pizza. Highly recommend for a slice and a quick break from Church St. We will most definitely be back for more. Interior is was an ideal by-the-slice environment.

Excellent pizza. Thin, crispy crust, with some actual flavor. Place also looks run down like a food pizza place should be.

The pizza crust was lighter than expecyed, a little bit more like focaccia than the pizza dough I'm used to in New York City. Still good, but not my favorite. The pastas we had were all wonderful. We had the seafood and mussels, the bolognese, and the pappardelle fungi. The pasta was clearly freshly made and had a nice spring to it. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was nice and light with a delicious lemon aioli sauce. It felt like the dish had more batter than actual calamari, which I did not prefer. I would have wanted more squid. Great service, lovely restaurant.

Before everyone arrived, I went in to ask if we could be accommodated. The first hostess said yes, as long as we split into two separate tables. Five minutes later when everyone arrived, another hostess refused to seat us, saying they couldn't accommodate relatively large groups on weekends. We explained that we were happy to split into two or three separate tables, with no more than 3-4 people at each table, and that no tables needed to be rearranged. The answer was still no. The biggest issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. The hostess rolled her eyes and treated us with a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. If this was truly the restaurant's policy, it should have been communicated consistently from the start and by all staff to all the other customers too. Our group has been dining together at restaurants around the area almost every day over the past few weeks, and we've never been treated this way anywhere else. We left and took our business elsewhere.

We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. They provided crayons and a coloring sheet for kids which always wins me over instantly, and were highly aware and educated around food allergies and their menu. 5/5 and an easy recommendation all around.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.

The steak was replaced, and this time it was definitely WELL done, but honestly, I preferred that to medium rare, so I ate it. The other issue was our table on the patio. There was what I assume was an AC vent above us that kept dripping onto the table. I ended up having to move my plate and drink out of the way so they didn't get dripped on. I'm generally pretty patient about things like this, but between the steak, the long wait for the replacement, and water dripping onto our table, it just wasn't a great experience overall. On the bright side, my husband said the pork chop was good--so there's that.

The same large, beautiful windows are there, but the decor is warm, trendy, and modern. Our hostess immediately wished my husband and me happy anniversary and the bartender team Max and Woody were truly outstanding and made our celebration special. They are adept at making cocktails. We tried Blue Bingo and Inside Out. Both were perfectly balanced. The Blue Bingo with fresh blueberry puree, garnished with blueberry and mint was refreshing. The Inside Out was similar to an Old Fashioned. We selected 4 small plates, one large plate, and one side. For small plates, the striped bass collar was meaty and flavored with an herb sauce and punchy blistered cherry tomatoes. The little neck clams came in a broth that was worth sopping up with the grilled sourdough. It was similar to having mussels in a luscious wine butter sauce. I would have eaten like 12 of the clams if they let me but they alas only give you 6. My favorite was grilled Romano beans, slightly crunchy, fresh, and light, with burrata and fried green tomatoes. The breading on the tomatoes was perfectly light and crunchy. The burrata was delicious, and I would have preferred to have it over the barchetta, fresh ravioli like pastas that came with fennel and arugula. The barchetta was missing that creamy element. The served our pork schnitzel as a "splitzel" served cut in half on two plates. Again, it was perfectly crunchy and light. We ordered pomme puree (mashed potatoes) as a side too, creamy and delicious. They had a decent wine and beer selection. Vermont, as best I can tell, excels at three things. Producing elite-level cheese, perfecting brick oven pizza, and fully committing to a very particular political personality. Two of those things directly benefit me, so I leaned in. One immediate observation. If you are looking for anything other than wood-fired, artisanal pizza, you may want to adjust expectations. That appears to be the law of the land. Naturally, I adapted by eating pizza two nights in a row. Night 2: Folino's Pizza The next night I pivoted and ended up at Folino's, which turned out to be the value correction I needed. I ordered the MK pizza, which comes topped with caramelized onions and impressively large pepperoni slices that do not believe in subtlety. The difference was immediate. I paid less than the night before and received a pizza that was easily twice the size. This one actually acknowledged that I had not eaten since breakfast. The caramelized onions added a great balance of sweetness, the pepperoni brought both flavor and coverage, and the overall product hit that ideal intersection of quality and quantity. This pizza was not just good, it was filling. I left satisfied and with leftovers, which later doubled as an elite cold hotel breakfast. That alone puts it in a different category. The atmosphere at Folino's was laid-back, clean, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I showed up earlier than I had said I would, fully expecting to be told to wait, but they immediately jumped into making my order without hesitation. The location has a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel, but that seems consistent with parts of Burlington. It adds a little unpredictability to the experience, which at this point felt on brand.
