Staff was exceedingly accommodating, vibe was relaxed yet loud enough to allow a privacy bubble, and I'll definitely plan a return visit when in town. We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. The pizza was good and the hostess was very nice and accommodating. However, our service was absolutely horrible. The restaurant closed at 10:00 on Friday night and, we arrived at 9:00. It was evident from the time we sat down that our waitress (Guin B. according to our receipt) did not want to serve us. She was rude, never refilled our water, asked us about additional drink orders, and only came around twice during the meal which was to take our food order and deliver our check. It's impossible to have a bad meal or poor service here. The food is seriously to die for and the service is beyond excellent. We ordered the pizza of the day, a white sauce pizza with chanterelles and truffle oil. Was divine. The Margherita was equally excellent. This time I ordered agluten free pie but said they could cook it in regular oven, They actually have a separate gluten free oven, They brought a delicious looking pizza. I took one bite and said to myself that this is too good to be Gluten free, I called over wait person who said it was not gluten free and whisked it away. I suspect if i had it made in separate oven i would have received the gluten free pie. This was our second time dining at Pizzaria Verita. We enjoyed it in the fall when visiting our UVM student, so we wanted to try it again. We had an 8pm reservation, but our 6:30 flight from DC to Burly was late! We had our daughter call to say we would be about 15 min late. Well, upon arrival, bags took a bit longer than expected. We didn't get to the restaurant until 9. I hopped out to see if they still had space for us. The lovely hostess told me they had indeed saved our spot!! We were so excited! We started with the fresh mozzarella which is always delicious, and the meatballs that are to die for. I had the Bianca, which was so good and the prosciutto and arugula was a great combo. The service was stoner-spacey, the server tried to bring us another table's food twice and he forgot my friend's cocktail. Space was nice, but it was very stuffy when we went and you couldn't feel the A/C, which would have been nice since it was in the high 80's. Had a pleasant time with friends last night at Pizzeria Verita. We all got individual pizzas, and shared multiple antipasti sides. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we all were raving the Nutella pizza we shared for dessert. The food is great. The inside of the restaurant is very dark, but it has a nice cozy feel to it inside. The only complaint I will note is that our server did not write our orders down. She had to come back to the table after forgetting what we ordered. Throughout the night, she would forget to bring items we asked for. My friend asked for another beer, and it never came. He didn't remind her because at that point we were already done with our pizzas. I'm not sure if it's a practice that all the serves do here at Pizzeria Verita, but if you're not going to write stuff down, make sure you have some experience doing so. read more

Made a reservation for our one and only night in Burlington last weekend. We had been traveling all day and went around a half hour early with growling stomachs. I ordered the sparkling rose and had two of those- delicious! Let me start this by saying we were very hungry- and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! Caesar salad with anchovies on the side, bread with dipping oil, and olives, cheese, and prosciutto. All very tasty. The bread was a perfect mix between soft and crusty- love that. We then ordered three pizzas. This was an over order- but we had leftovers for lunch the next day. We did a spicy pie, an arugula topped mozzarella, and a white burrata. This might have been my favorite dinner on our recent trip to Burlington! In short - you should go. First: delicious cocktails. Second: Gluten free pizza. Third: AMAZING gluten free pizza. We came up with our own concoction using one of their pizzas as a base and adding ingredients to our hearts' content. Gosh it was good. Awesome! There are about 5000 pizza places in Burlington, I've been to all of them, and this one is by far the best. The bar is also really great, especially as a place to order food and try a few new cool drinks. One suggestion, though from the outside at night, it really looks like this restaurant is closed. Because of the reflective glass, it looks like the lights are off inside. A nice big illuminated "open " sign might go along way. Just a thought. read more

Excellent food and service. I actually was intending to go to American flatbread and it was closed that night so I went on Yelp to look for another pizza place as I was now in the mood for it. I am so happy I ended up going here. My waitress was super friendly and gave great service. I ordered the Mais pizza with corn, fior di latte, and a thick ham.
