I came here with a party of eight people on a Sunday at 8 PM. Originally, we wanted to do 6 PM, but we didn't realize that the online tickets sell out fast, so make sure to purchase in advance! Venue: the ice rink is a circle around a giant Christmas tree that used to be a railroad turntable. At night, you can see all the sparkly Christmas decor and lights. There's some photo opportunities for young children next to the rink. Not that they have a policy against using phones on the ice rink. Ticket purchasing: this is a cashless ice rink, so they only accept payment online on their website. Skate rentals: After showing them your ticket, you can go pick up your skates at the back of the venue. I believe they mentioned that all skates were men's sizes, so for women you might need a shoe that is one size lower than your normal shoe size. I got a size 7, even though my shoe size is 8.5. My friends noted that there is inconsistency in the level of cushion/comfort in some skates. Crowd/Ice: This ice rink was pretty crowded even at 8 PM on a Sunday on a non-peak holiday time. It didn't seem like they refreshed the ice before our session. Overall, this ice rink was pretty fun and we loved the holiday decor. I don't know that crowd levels are low at any time, but I'd consider prioritizing adult only skating sessions :) read more

This ice rink is such a fun and safe place to bring the kids or just go for a date! The ice is clean, the fire pits are fully stocked with enough propane to keep you warm, the ice assists help any person/child skate with ease, and they have a s'mores package if you're interested in some sugar to refuel while taking a break. We love going to the Folsom ice rink every year because the staff is very attentive and they continue to enhance our experience with each visit. We are especially grateful for Amy and all she does to ensure that we have everything we need to enjoy our visit without any delays or disruptions. This experience was incredibly frustrating and honestly heartbreaking. On 12/26/25, my family and I went ice skating, which was supposed to be a special day for us. The moment we arrived at the outdoor rink, it began raining. We immediately ran to the office and were told we could get a refund--just email the address they provided. We did exactly that, sent the email right away, included photos clearly showing the rain, and explained the situation. Instead of honoring what we were told in person, the company flat-out refused a refund and said we could only rebook. At that point, we agreed to rebook for Sunday just so we wouldn't lose the $75 we already paid, even though it meant rearranging our plans and driving back again. This company showed zero care for families or customer experience. It felt like profit was their only concern. What made it even worse was that they claimed they were "sold out," yet when we walked up, they were telling people to buy tickets online on the spot and they'd be let in anyway. That alone felt extremely dishonest. Overall, the lack of empathy, poor communication, and refusal to stand by what they promised made this a terrible experience. This was supposed to be a memorable family outing, and instead it turned into stress and disappointment. I absolutely do not recommend this company. Pay at your own risk. read more

No downside... just pure 100% family fun made possible via the exceptional young staff members who went out of their way to accommodate us and make this experience so memorable. We hosted my daughter's 8th birthday here and were very pleased with the experience from start to finish. Coordinating the party was easy and the party host helpers assigned to us for the day of made sure we had everything we needed. Did not get to actually skate this year. Tried to. But the rental skates were incredibly dull which did not allow control of your feet on the ice. Many appeared to be having trouble with the rental ice skates. Lots of slipping and falling. People I talked to also said they had to leave the ice due to that problem. In past years, it was great. We rented the entire ice rink for a family event, and it was wonderful! The staff is so cooperative and cheery! The ice rink is right out of a Hallmark movie- so festive! Parking is VERY close by, so arrival and check-in is easy as can be. We had a LOT of kids skating- even little 4 year olds!- and so many families sitting around fire pits, roasting marshmallows and connecting with each other. Even if it was free, I would be hesitant to return. For a paid experience, it is 100% not worth it. I know it is a temporary outdoor rink, but the ice in honestly in such bad condition it's dangerous. There's lots of uneven dips - fine. At least they are smooth. But the rink is COVERED in loose ice chunky ice. The scariest part for us was the gaps along the edges between the wall and the ice where our feet would painfully slide off of the ice and into. On top of all this, it was expensive, crowded with people skating against the flow with no employee comments, wet, worn down skates and a $15 fee to rent the little skate helpers. We did our best to enjoy our time, but ultimately it was a tough pill to swallow that we spent almost $100 on such a disappointing outing. read more

Located in the Historic District in Folsom, this ice rink is a cute winter loop-around complete with rental firepits and s'more making. It makes for a cozy holiday gathering to be able to sit around the fire while coming in and out of the skating zone. There are skates both with laces and with straps. At other rinks I have been to, they'll ask for your shoe size and adjust to the skate size, I asked for a size below my shoe and the pair still felt a little loose around the ankles/hard to tighten. A unique thing about this rink - it circles the Christmas tree! Quite pleasing for a romantic scene, I assume. Because of this though, people are grabbing onto both the railing around the outside AND the indoor railing circling the tree, which makes it a little bit of a fall fest all over the place without any spacing of varied skating personalities - the wild ones, the spinners, the speeders, the wall gliders, the happy fallers! As someone who likes to skate fast-ish, I would go towards the middle to play around and go faster, no space for that here. That being said, cute for the littles! Cute for holiday dates! The ice condition is terrible and uneven. A really bad place for kids or folks that don't already know how to skate well. The skates they have to rent are in terrible shape. Someone is going to break an ankle at this place. They are you do a waiver but the reality is their stuff is junk and it would be their fault. The people working it really don't appear to be trained well and they don't help the experience. They could use a little more direction on ensuring the guest experience is amazing. Don't mistake this to mean they are rude or mean, they just aren't helpful to solve a problem (such as a skate with a loose blade). The staff were really nice. That is about all I can say. Let me preface this by saying I grew up skating and figure skated competitively for 7 years. I have attended many rinks in my day and this was the worst. I had to trade in skates twice because there was no ankle support and unsharpened blades. Not unexpected for a rink that's a pop up, however I wiped out MULTIPLE times. This is something that has not happened to me in years. There was a bump in the ice where it appeared to be buckling in the center of the ice, dips, and on top of everything, it was melting leaving it more slick than a typical zamboni run. Anyone who has skated knows there is nothing better than freshly zambonied ice, this was a pool and incredibly difficult terrain on already difficult to navigate ice with a small rink and multiple bodies. While they are working against the elements if you are someone used to skating in indoor rinks and does not want to stay circling on the sides of the rink, go somewhere else or your favorite rink. Even the christmas tree didn't bring me holiday cheer. read more

took my grandkids out to the rink and it was so much fun! The staff was helpful with getting skates, skate assist thingy and even putting on the skates oh and a young man even helped get everyone's wrist bands on. The session was just long enough for all of us. It was so nice getting out of the house and doing something normal! Everyone wore masks and some wore gloves. There was a farmers market there at the same time ( Saturday early afternoon) and we were able to get some of the sweetest apples and oranges too. The setting where the rink is is nice, but don't waist your money. The skates fit horrible. I traded in my skates 3 times and had problems with every pair. I wasn't the only one who had problems with the skates digging into their ankles and the sides of their feet. The lines just to pay & get skates were 45 minute wait which meant by the time we got our ice skate took only a few circles around the rink before our time was up. ice skates: We had to return multiple pairs of rental skates because they were too worn, the laces were too short or broken off and had not been fixed, only to have the associates behind the rental window argue with me about the skates they being unsafe when the straps were all broken. We had a good time, based solely on our determination to have a good time. The good time will be in our memory and hopefully the other odd things will just go away. There's so much to say but I'm going to bullet point the issues. 1. Cashier tried to get us to skate with only 20 min left to a session, instead of just having us wait to the next session 2. Purchased a locker that had to be unlocked and locked back by an employee every time you need to get in there 3. As of many complaints, the shakes are badly worn and need an upgrade. 4. We saw quite a few ppl leave because the ice was bad. They wet it right before they let us on it and it was really bumpy, even after using that machine that's suppose to smooth the ice. Ice rink had lots of uneven ice and random dips all throughout. There was a sign stating no cameras or phones allowed on the ice, yet so many groups of people stopped in the middle of the ice rink to take pictures and block others just trying to skate. I love this place so much!!! The workers are phenomenal, they tied all my kid's skates! The people in the ticket booth, were so warm it makes up for the crisp temperature. This rink used to be decent, but this year it was very crowded, and they have a security guard now standing at the front. Parents are not allowed to go inside with their children to help them with skates unless they purchase a ticket. Which is $15. The security guard thinks he's FBI or other sort of top-notch law enforcement. Not pleasant. They take your drivers license as collateral, as if their skates or skate assistant are worth as much as a drivers license. Avoid it and save your money. read more

I planned a company outing here. The whole experience, from the initial POC, to the event itself, was amazing! The team made planning and early ticket purchases so easy! The night of the event, I had my 20 month old (who I was sure was going to be over it in 5min). He was a ROCKSTAR on skates!! Seeing his excitement over his own success, as well as the magic of the environment was definitely something I needed this year!!! It was a horrible experience if it wasn't for spending almost $60 on three adults we would've left sooner. The ice was almost impossible to skate on it had holes, and bumps and random uphills and downhills. The main staff were friendly however the staff on the ice just "play" instead of actually help the customers. Love this place but After three years off coming here I'm realizing that I'm being handed the same pairs of awful run-down wobbly skates. The annual ice skating ankle pain is my reoccurring memory. I love the location I just wish they would use a different vendor with an updated rental supply.
