I went to The Rink today As soon as I walked in the door, the staff greeted me with a hello welcome in. I have an ostomy bag due to cancer and nervously I asked a gentleman (maybe the owner) "Is it okay that I use the rest room with my ostomy." Not only did he say yes but he offered to let me use the staff, if I needed. I didn't need to use it after all but it was so nice and refreshing knowing that he offered. I'm constantly thinking of ways to keep my family active, minimize our time spent on screens, while having fun. Thankfully, one Saturday afternoon my son expressed interest in wanting to go skating. We have a skating rink in close proximity to our home; however, it is fairly small and closes it's doors at 5pm on Saturdays. Therefore, we decided to make the slightly longer drive to The Rink. Once the three of us arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly employee who processed the admission and skate rental fees. After my wife and son obtained their skates (I brought my personal pair), we proceeded to locate the lockers for our shoes. We found the automated lockers that costs $5...yes it is expensive for lockers, but I was more concerned that our fairly pricey shoes did not get stolen. Once our shoes were secured, we made our way to the rink floor. I absolutely love the size of this rink, it allows for individuals of various levels of expertise to co-exist in one place. In the past, I have been to some rinks that are so small that you're afraid that you would topple over little people learning how to skate (not saying that it couldn't happen here - it just seems less likely). While skating, I observed something that I have yet to see at a skating rink...parents walking (no skates) on the rink guiding their little ones. I'm not complaining about this, just mentioning it for anyone reading this and wondering how they can ensure that their little ones are safe while skating. This made for a perfect family activity/outing and I burned 522 calories during our 1.5 hours at The Rink...now that's a win-win! read more

What a fun night! The Rink has hosted skate nights for my kids' school and it has always been a fun time. The staff are enthusiastic and helpful. The snack bar is pretty reasonably priced. We got a pretzel and cheese sauce which hit the spot and I'm not sure we have ever had a bad Icee! The music played is upbeat and contemporary. There is an arcade that I have to remember to save the card for because there is a small charge for new cards. You can rent skates and trainers ($5 for the trainer). Parking is plentiful. read more

I don't think a roller skating rink has been built since 1983--and this one feels exactly like it. The only thing that really stood out was the kids working there: they were friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. The staff here are incompetent. My disabled partner needed a trainer to assist her while she skated but she was denied by staff claiming that there were no sizes for her. I watched the entire interaction and the staff member never checked what they had available. I went over a few minutes later and asked what their policy for renting trainers out and after some back and forth the manager came up and had the staff member check in the back and sure enough there was one available. In fact I could see several of the same size. This is unacceptable and that staff member needs to reprimanded. I will never give this location business again. read more

I brought my kids to The Zoo session again, and during the lesson portion they are allowing an adult to go racing through little (5-7yr old) kids who are already nervous. I thought last time when this happened it was a fluke, but it happened again this time. While the adult didn't run into any kids during his game of tag with older kids, I observed multiple little kids get startled, and at least 2 kids fall after being startled. Local rinks aren't very strict, but when it's a clear safety issue or making young kids nervous and not enjoy skating, other rinks stop that negative behavior. read more

A Most Excellent Rink Space For Skating Fun! SITREP My lovely friend Bambi hosted a large party of 50 or so people to celebrate her birthday (I won't say which, but it was one ABOVE 50!) THE SETUP Our group took over the rink and Bambi was allowed - for 2 hours - to take over the music selections with her curated mix of Disco, Retro 80s and New Wave song selections. THE CONCESSIONS Honestly, you don't know what to expect, but with $4 Nachos, Slices of Pizza, pitchers of Pespi for only $7 to split out among friends with cups, it was a really good time! THE SKATES! A lot of my peeps obviously have a deep penchant for good skating in their blood and they came with their own AWESOME SKATES! (Just take a look at Matt's "Black Beauties". But The Rink comes well prepared with an inventory of skates for all comers and they had a pair of Men's 14s for me to use! THE RINK! So smooooth, sooo gorgeous, allowing for a large group of people to enjoy skating round and round: first counter-clockwise, and then finishing up clockwise. I took my nieces for a random afternoon of rollerskating. I forgot how fun and liberating it feels to just skate. Almost felt like a kid again -- it was nice. The rates are $10 per person regardless of age and skate rentals are $4 so it was $70 plus taxes for the 5 of us to get in with skates. I had to rent a trainer for my youngest niece (she's 5) which was another $6. There are paid lockers to store your belongings in. The skating ring itself is spacious and I loved the music they played while we were there. I didn't see a DJ but I imagine there is one brought in for special events. The music playing that afternoon was probably from someone's playlist. We ordered icees, nachos, and pickles from the snack bar. There are also on-site vending machines to purchase chips, candy, water, soda, etc. Anyway, we had an absolute blast. I look forward to taking my nieces for another round of rollerskating this summer. My only negative comment is that the ventilation is a bit poor in the building. They need to bump up the AC and perhaps invest in an air purifier. read more

We came today to take our kids skating and it's gotta be about 100° in here. It's so hot it feels dirty. It's very outdated. I mean it was so hot that somebody could've had a heat stroke. It's 97° in here I asked for a cup of water and they wanted to charge me so I asked him for a picture of water and they wanted to charge me for that as well. read more

They really do cater to the community and have been doing so for a long time. They have up to date arcade games and yummy food snack choices. They even sell cotton candy once in a while. Overall they have different prices for different days! Family night adult night and morning skate sessions! Wish I could leave a zero but alas here we go. Took my family here for a 1pm session and was astounded by the safety concerns. My children were repeatedly hit by skaters cutting across the rink, skating the wrong way or simply rough housing on the skating floor. Staff was not monitoring the skaters and there was a group of kids there without any adults. After my child was hit in the side by one of these unaccompanied minors, I asked the kids to please stop and skate in the right direction. The kids proceeded to cuss at me in front of my kids, threaten me and follow me and my kids of the skating floor. When I brought my concerns to the staff they did absolutely nothing, the kids were allowed to stay without an adult accompanying them and we left the session early. I informed the manager of why we were leaving and was offered nothing not even an apology. This place is unsafe and poorly run. I have really tried to give this place a chance but after 4 consecutive visits where children have been injured by these wild skaters and absentee employees, I will not skate here again. If you care for your kids safety, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!!! read more

My hubby and I decided to stop by for date night one weekend for their 2:30 PM-5:00 PM session. For 2.5 hours, including roller skates and admission, it was just $14.00, now that's a bargain!! Unisex Skate Socks were $3.00 each and fit perfectly on us both! We did have to exchange our roller skates for new ones before going out on the rink since one of his laces was stuck in a knot and one of mine were missing an aglet. Our second pair of skates were great tho, no issues! We also purchased a locker to store our items while we skated, which was only $0.50, bring your quarters! The Experience.... As soon as we placed our skates on the nostalgia hit, it brought me back to my teen years gliding through the rink with neon lights, listening to great hits! It had been a while so we were a bit rusty at first, but quickly got the hang of it again! My favorite game I participated in on the rink was Limbo, definitely a blast from the past, I lasted until the 5th round! And of course we had to climb into the photo booth before we left, our tradition whenever we see one! Lol well this one was small, well at least for us, probably more for children or those of shorter stature, we painfully squeezed in and ducked and tried our best, a couple came out good. I would recommend this retro rink, there's a snack bar if your hangry after burning all those calories on the rink and a water fountain by their restrooms as well! They offer skating lessons and rent PVC Skate Trainers if you or your child need extra assistance as well! It was honestly one of the best times we've had in a long time! Hell yea didn't even know it still existed a bit far from me but great my kids had a blast

We went here a couple of times for our kids school or birthday events. It is a lot of fun with the right atmosphere. It feels like an old establishment, which I'm pretty sure it is. Nothing dangerously old, but that old feeling like being upkept is not their priority. It makes sense to have carpet everywhere except the roller rink, but you can tell the carpet is rarely cleaned. There are soda machines near the tables, but they don't take cards or Apple Pay, you need to have cash on you for those sodas or snacks; and very few people have those now days? Then there is the option of getting your drinks and snacks at the snack bar, which is over priced..... And they don't offer/have lids to their drinks. I have no idea why, but giving kids icee with their skates on???? I don't know about that.... Other than that, you are there to skate, and usually there is one person of employment skating around and have people follow the rules. They are pretty good at moving people along. read more

The Rink is definitely an interactive skating experience. Their concession stand offered hot dogs, nachos, and etc. their Icee machine was down. So we ended up buying our cold drinks from the vending machine. Make sure to carry some dollar bills to pay for your drinks and other vending machine treats. Bring your own skates to save $ to be avoid paying rental fees. They also offer training equipment that can aid your young skater to glide with confidence across the rink. read more

My friend booked a private event and we were able to have the whole rink to ourselves for our small party. It was so much easier to skate around and not worry about bumping into other people! And it also makes it easier to get skates in our sizes. They had both roller skates and roller blades. Inside it was mini arcade to win prizes and a food station for nachos, pretzels, slushies, and ice cream. Of all the rinks in this area, this one is the most spacious. There is room for those not skating or taking breaks. I'm used to squeezing in awkwardly and trying to move out of the way of people trying to get by, but here there are ample tables and space where you can watch the kids skate. They do the usual games and play the usual music (including some throwbacks for the parents). The snack bar employees are friendly and the prices are decent. The only problem I have is that they charge you to supervise your children! Most rinks (at least all I've been to) only charge for the skaters/rentals. This one will also charge $4 per person for NON-skaters. I'm not a fan of paying for my children to skate AND paying for myself and/husband to supervise them. Since there is no outside food/drink allowed, we have to buy water/snacks anyway on top of paying to sit there. Aside from that, it's a good rink. read more
