This morning around 11:30 AM, I stopped by the store to pick up an additional pitcher after making walnut milk. I was greeted and assisted by two gentlemen who appeared to be in management, and they were very helpful. Thank you -- I really appreciated that positive interaction. Later in the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, I called the store to ask whether I needed my ID to return the item, since I planned to walk back. A young woman answered. I explained that I had been in earlier and wanted to return an item. When I asked whether identification was needed, she said she didn't know and asked me to hold so she could check -- but the call was disconnected instead of placing me on hold. I called back immediately and a different representative answered. She remembered me from this morning and informed me that all I needed was the receipt. When I arrived at 3:56 PM, the return was processed quickly with no issue. I mentioned the phone incident to the cashier, and she apologized and said it could have been multiple people. I want to be honest: I don't usually grocery shop here unless I need something quick, and that's because I've repeatedly experienced attitude and negative energy from some of the female cashiers. My daughter has also noticed this during our visits. Today's interaction was the last straw for me. I've lived in Fresno for three years, and I try to stay to myself, but the microaggressions and unwelcoming treatment I've encountered -- including at this store -- have been discouraging. I no longer feel respected as a customer, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. My daughter will be graduating soon and moving on to dental school, and I've also decided not to continue investing my time or money in places where I don't feel valued. Just give my two more years Fresno and I'll be out of you all's way. read more

Came in and my friend asked if they were open and the "loss prevention" bigger Mexican guy was very rude and said "does it look like it?" My brother used to work here so we know the manager and everyone used to be sweet. It was just crazy to me that we were greeted like that. Won't be coming back. read more

As much as I love grocery shopping at this location and how much a convenience it is, their produce is always old, moldy, and shriveled up! Their meat can be just as bad! It's so disappointing and sickening. I will say this location is always clean though. People actually spend their hard working money here for groceries so do better Food 4 Less! read more

I have lived in this neighborhood for 20 plus years and about 10 years ago staff was friendly at stors however the staff has been a decline in service and customer friendly. I have avoided this store and refuse to regular shop. The only time I will ever visit store will be in the early hours only to grab milk or coffee. It is very surprising that even in the early morning it appears all shifts I get the same vibe from staff. Rudness and unfriendlyness this store is. When paying for groceries at register there is no communication only silence with employees looking like they have attitude. The only employee who has a great attitude and is a breath of fresh air is Maryann. Management is a reflection of there peers and from it looks like maybe time to make a change. This is a great niehborhood but this store is a great disapointment to this community read more

COVID-19 phase: masks worn by workers and required! Great music playing! The store is very clean and organized! Good deals too! I bought a small pack of Sweet N Lo, a large pack of Diet Pepsi and a spicy jalapeño retried beans can that was on sale. There were sales everywhere! The prices were pretty high from what I am used to. They didn't have big packs of gum or cat food like I wanted. There is a lot of stuff from fruits and veggies to alcohol like beer and wine and much more. The worker was nice at check out. There is only one way in and one way out. Left side takes you into the store and right takes you out of the store. Good store. Good service! read more

Beware! Went shopping and some Mexican guy started following me. He was obviously their loss prevention guy. He was really small and short. Then he stopped following me and a tall white women from bakery started following me. It was weird. I almost just left my full cart of groceries so this company doesn't make my money. But, I spent all that time putting the groceries into the cart I still bought it. Last time coming here. I found a baby spider in my strawberries as I'm washing them which was okay because they're strawberries I understand but then as I open the butter right after the stick of butter had a brown little bug in it. So this just shows me that the store does not clean up very well :( read more

With the increase in dining out costs I have switched to cooking at home more and thus have grocery shopped more. This location is not too busy and is well kept. I don't interact with staff here much but have never had any issues. Prices are not very cheap but that seems to be the case just about anywhere these days, I just keep an eye out on the weekly ads to snag deals. read more

Coffee. ..yes coffee brings me here, I grind my own and I have found the this store has a very good machine. The fruits and vegetables and usually fresh and I've never had a problem with age issues here. The wine selection is up there with Savemart and Walmart, about the same prices and the brands I am familiar with. All of these three store are within a mile of my house so I go with my instincts depending on the menu for the week. Stay happy and keep shopping. read more

Went in a rush before work in the morning, but was able to quickly find everything I needed. Like this imitation crab - yum! Employees were stocking the shelves and the aisles were very clean. I love this Food 4 Less! My goodness, you could definitely tell that this is catered to those that live in this area. Wine selection is amazing! It's always so nice and neat in all the aisles and the employees have been totally friendly. Groceries are cheap and I love how they have healthier option items. I was surprised they had Braggs here! I don't have to go to Whole Foods! And what? They're open 24 hours? You don't have to deal with weird people hanging out around the parking lots! I just don't like the bags they provide because they don't have handles for the brown bags so make sure you bring your bags! read more

Most of the staff are rude with couple of exceptions. Today the cashier she didn't even say a word while she was scanning my items. This is not the first time she acts this way. But, today she was very rude. She looked annoyed or something. I said hello twice thinking that maybe she couldn't hear me, but when I asked her for plastic bags she heard me loud and clear and gave me the bags. She didn't even hand me the receipt she only placed it on top of my items without a single word. I wish I got her name so I could tell you exactly who she is. She is a white, chubby girl with glasses. I hate describing people, but I hope management are able to find out who she is with the description. read more

The employees seem like they are perpetually in training but they aren't lol. Every time I go here I feel this way and it's been a year so. Why do I still shop here? Lack of grocery stores in the area. For this area (and I emphasize) this is a cheap grocery store. The same items on another side of town I'm sure would be cheaper but this is just my biased opinion that I can type in this review because it's mine lol. I end up here every few months. I'm more of a target slash winco type of grocery shopper mixed with some Trader Joe's for good measure. They lack a lot of items in this store, I could never go here and plan on getting things like onion strings for my salad. But they have a huge beer and wine selection buy enough of that and you'll forget the employees are all under 25 and don't know where anything in the store is. read more

This is a pretty decent supermarket, but I don't think the prices are really that good compared to other warehouse style stores like FoodMaxx and Winco. However, they do carry a lot of products that other supermarkets on this side of town (Vons and Save Mart) really don't carry. The store never seems to be busy, and it is always very clean and the staff is friendly. read more

Open 24 hours.... The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. I am always in and out and have yet to have a negative experience. The produce is always fresh and never get any weird surprises when we get home. They do have a pretty good selection of wines and beers as we'll. read more

Still amazing. I keep trying other grocery stores -- from Whole Foods and Sprouts, to Vons and Savemart, to Winco and Food Maxx... I still haven't found a better produce department than I find here. And the prices can't be beat. Yesterday, I went to four different stores for my Thanksgiving provisions. Celery at this place was $0.39 per bunch. I did find one other store selling for $0.50 per bunch--but the other three were $1.50 or higher. Apples, parsley, greens, onions, and other items were all remarkably cheaper here. I think it says a lot if a market can maintain consistent cleanliness for years...and this place has. Because of this consistent quality and value, I'm raising my rating from four to five stars. read more

This is a nice location in a good part of town. The store is clean and seems to be well stalked. The staff are friendly enough and do their jobs politely and effectively. The layout for the store is somewhat confusing and hard to navigate with a lot of turns and dead ends. The selection is fine with many of your staple items. The prices are what I have the biggest problem with. They are very high to almost the point of not wanting to shop here. If they would lower their prices a little they would dominate this area because all of the other grocery stores in the area are very high end and cater to a different clientele. I walked in with my fellow colleagues and security starts following us for no reason then comes out and stares us down for no reason. We ask him why and he says do you know the definition of a dog. What does that mean??? He was so disrespectful and no respect at all. Then he says go shop somewhere else which is rude cause we paid for our food and didn't do anything wrong. Staff there is very helpful. I come here all the time and I have never seen a time when it has been busy. There's never more than one person in line at the checkout and I have never had a rude cashier. The store is huge with wall to wall savings. I save money shopping there compared to other stores without ever using a coupon. It's my favorite place to buy breakfast cereal because it's usually on sale. I decided to go to this Food 4 Less location in Fresno, and I had a good first impression when I walked in. The prices weren't quite as good as I expected. Some of the prices were less than a regular grocery store, but some of the prices were just as expensive. The store was very clean and the employees were friendly when I passed by. The produce didn't seem very fresh. The small selection of baked goods were kind of expensive. The spices were good price. I liked the dairy section, freezer section was nice, and they had fast checkout. I'll go here again if I'm in the area and check it out again. I'll just watch to make sure that I'm paying a lower price when I purchase something. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Most of the people that work there have a terrible attitude and you can't find anyone to assist you when needed. Apparently they don't accept federal id's like a passport for beer or wine purchases. Depending on who you go to for checkout they will accept your expired state id so hopefully you get lucky with the right person. I hate to write bad reviews because I work in customer service but these issues definitely need to be addressed. read more

I come to food for less because it's close to me but to be honest most of the people that work there are the rudest, most ignorant people I have ever met with the exception of few who are nice and helpful. It just seems they are miserable to be working there and they give you too much negative energy. I find that this food 4 less is somehow not really affiliated with other krogers. The price is different than other krogers affiliates. This store location is not on the food 4 less website. This is our main grocery store mostly because of the location and the prices are so good. We constantly get chicken wings and other food from there. Minus one star for the mixed spring; it gets rotten within couple of days and sometimes part of it is already ruined. I found Walmart's mixed springs much better. Also I hope there's more variety for fruits. It's mostly apples. I love their mixed nuts - there's a women special mixed nuts, seeds, etc. love it. Like coming here because its clean and well stocked all the time. Prices are great when you are on a budget. There are always friendly staff if you need any help. Carts are clean and there are always sanitizer cloths by the door. They may not have a wide variety like whole foods or trader joes but you can't beat the price for those regular food items. Meats are fresh. Produce is fresh and its safe to go shopping at any hour.I gave them a four star rating only because they dont have some of the specialty items but its cool, they are what they say they are...food 4 less. read more

Price wise the store is hard to beat and the staff has always been helpful. However, I just returned home and had to toss out the entire bag of seedless grapes purchased this morning. Any savings were negated by the $7.50 worth of produce I just threw away. The loss would have been even greater if I decided to drive back to the store to return the rotten and moldy batch of grapes. I have shopped at many grocery stores within a 5 mile radius of this store and this is the first time I have ever had an experience such at this. Unless you can see the entire bag/bunch of produce you are purchasing I would suggest being extra careful. I never thought I would have to remove the grapes from the pre-packaged plastic bag to inspect them for ripeness and mold. Great prices, open 24 hours, friendly staff, and you can always count on it for low prices on staples like bread, milk, eggs, cereal, produce etc. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because their meat prices are fairly high and they rarely discount. Also no hard liquor but plenty of reasonably priced beer & wine. read more
