This is my go-to spot for my vegetables and Asian groceries. I typically like to go here to get pho broth mix (saves so much time and makes such a tasty soup), noodles, Asian sauces, and occasionally meat and seafood. I also come here for Asian snacks, as they have the widest selection of Pocky, Peppero, Yan-Yan, Hello Panda, etc. This was the original store that we always used to come to for Asian food before it started appearing in regular grocery stores. They also have a solid selection of instant noodles, tea, boba, Asian dessert toppings, and pre-packaged drinks (they even have Thai tea, soju, and konjac jelly). The service is always good, the workers are helpful and quick to get you all checked out and packed up. I've had some not-so-great experiences here and there, but overall good. The store itself is very nostalgic for me, so I might be biased on an ambiance point-of-view, but overall I think the store is clean and easy to navigate. read more

Well...it's been 11 years since my last review and R-N Market is still going strong. If I need any seasonal or staple items, this is a great place to go. They have some limited plants for the new year, along with some great cakes and other pastries. The produce section has great options and everything was fresh and bountiful. Teas, sauces, dried goods, spices, candies, noodles, seaweed, rice paper wraps, cooking items....if you need it, they probably have it. Please note that the items you can find in other stores tend to be a bit higher in price....but not always. As far as I'm concerned, R&N Asian Market is worth five stars for one reason: durian. They're the only market I've found that consistently has frozen durian in stock, and every now and then they even get fresh durian. If you're a durian fan, having a place you can count on is a huge deal, and R&N has become my go-to. The only thing I'd love to see is a way to know when the fresh durian arrives. The employees have always been honest that they don't know exactly when shipments come in, but I'd happily leave my phone number if the store ever starts calling customers when fresh durian is available. Asian supermarkets are the best! I can literally find almost everything here with their wide selection. I was looking for Annatto seeds which give a red color to foods without changing the flavor and I found it right by the seasonings. Their meats and seafood prices vary each week and you'll sometimes get a good deal. I really like the soju and flavored Asian beers, the lychee is popular amongst many. It's a pretty quiet store, no yelling or crying. The cashiers are friendly and will help you look for items if they're not busy. I will continue to return to this store to keep it open. read more

I decided to swing by on my way home from work to browse the Ramen brands they carry. I am obsessed with ramen for a quick, hot dinner these cold winter nights. I picked up a small bunch of fresh basil for $1.89. Their Shin noodles were more expensive than what I have seen them sold at the Grocery Outlet and Foods Co. But I love that they had the Hello Kitty Ramen Cups in spicy and chicken flavors. I was super excited to see the large Buldak varieties they carry for just $5.99. Much cheaper than the Shin noodles I have been picking up at Grocery Outlet. I noticed they zip tied the faceplates on their payment processors to prevent thieves from trying to replace them with their own card skimmers. R-N has a great selection of international items mainly Asian stuff. I come here for my hot pot necessities and like exploring the noodle aisle for different noodles to try. I like the chip aisle too. First time trying turtle chips. They are addicting! Specifically the chocolate churro ones. The texture of the chip itself has layers. You'll have to try them out yourself. I also like lookin at the ice creams. I had coconut ice cream there and it's one of my favorites! Low key expensive but it's gotta be of good quality! The price of meat and seafood there is not bad either. The fruit & veggie area might be my least favorite cus sometimes I'll find little bugs in the baby bok choy & mushrooms. Just gotta be careful and make sure to watch what u pick!! And last time I got mangosteen there they fuckin played me, that shit was extra fuckin hard and when I opened one up it was rot. I couldn't tell cus it was my first time trying and eating it. What a waste of money cus them hoes was expensive! I recently went to a corner of the store I never visited in all the times I been to R-N. It has like bakery stuff. The literal corn shaped bread and banana bread had me gagged lol. R-N Market, Fresno: Apr 2022 I have encountered rude customer service - but this could be the worst scenario yet. Compliments ignored: At the check-out, we complimented them on their produce - but the checker ignored us. Not a big problem. Shouting and laughing at their customers: A moment later, we heard another checker shout at a customer - then turned around and spoke badly, laughing and commenting about that customer. We were shocked. Awful remarks made by checker: When asked, we were told that the customer had used the wrong door to exit so they had to shout at them. Rude awakening: When we said they should've directed the customer to the correct door in a nice way - they said... "they don't read." Friendly advice: We commented that it's not nice to shout at customers and talk behind their customers backs. They just laughed it off. Note: I'm pretty sure they don't care if we ever return to that store. read more

This is my go to market when I want Asian food and specialty items. Although there are others closer at my end of town, this market has a wide variety of sauces, pastes and condiments that I can't seem to find anywhere else. It's a very large supermarket with lots and lots of delightful specialty goodies. They carry the Ayam brand of curry paste specifically the Singapore rendang Items. Singapore items seem to be very difficult to find so I'm glad that RN carries the specialty things. I go back all the time because rendang beef is a delightful dish if you've never made it yourself. And it's just so easy to open a bottle, sauté your ingredients, add the paste and the coconut milk and let it simmer. A quick but delicious meal. This market makes it happen. No fuss, no muss. The staff are always pleasant, you can always get through a shopping line quickly and with ease. Also, because I tend to get lost with the vast quantity of bottles jars, spices and so forth, I usually have to ask for help. Staff are very helpful and always know exactly where to send me to find my curry paste's or my specialty sauces. In addition, recently, they had a sale on fish sauce! It adds that umami to your dish whether or not your dish is Asian in style. This supermarket is conveniently nestled in with a number of other fun shops, including a one dollar store and some really nice restaurants in the middle section. Conveniently located at Cedar and Herndon. And across the street there are all kinds of bookstores and bakeries and so forth. Great area of town to shop in. read more

Store setup is slightly confusing but fine. produce is usually not the most fresh and many things I have purchased here over the span of three years have been expired or close to. I feel tense when entering the store. partially I think because of the store manager who is very rude and short with customers, and I have especially felt targeted by her. she does not make me feel welcome at all. I only ever go back if I am in a hurry because it is the closest store to me. the lady with curly hair seems to run a tight ship as every employee I interact with seems miserable and or stressed. I've shopped at R-N Market pretty much all my life. I remember going here when this market was across the street. This is the Asian market that I do prefer and that is closest to me. They do sell American foods as They have a pretty good selection on produce and meats. I am always able to find what I am looking for. Make sure you check expiration dates and don't buy the meats that are on sale! I've seen brown/green meat that was on clearance before... unsure how they are able to sale that... Just check all expiration dates on everything that you buy. Sometimes they keep expired foods on shelves hoping for a sale. Oh don't mind the customer service when you check out at the register. They are pretty rude. The guys that are stocking the shelves and in the meat department are pretty helpful. I would watch out for the older man in produce. He's not friendly or helpful at all. The entrances are on the left and right of the building and the middle is for exit only. Make sure you exit in the middle otherwise you will get yelled at from across the store. read more

Apparently they treat you like garbage if you are white. My wife went in there to buy an item that was marked at 6.99. When she went to pay for it, it rang up at 13.99. Guy was very rude and aggressive to her basically blaming her. She explained to him that it was marked at a different price and he could take a look himself. He was refusing to do so. It's been a while since my last review. I loved this market when I first moved to the area, but since then, the products have lacked while what's left has increased in price beyond its competitor's. Customer service is hit or miss, and it was certainly a miss from my visit last week. Came here to get some box mapo tofu sauce, thick three ladies brand rice noodles, onion pancake from the freezer, green tea mochi ice cream, and dumpling wrappers. The only three ladies brand rice noodles were medium sized. No mapo tofu sauce. No onion pancake. They had mochi ice cream, but no traditional flavors like green tea or red bean. And no dumpling wrappers. I settled with the medium sized rice noodles and that's the only product I purchased. During check out, the young lady did not look at me or say a single word until announcing the price. She gave me my receipt without eye contact and ignored me when I thanked her. Her attitude was atrocious. I will be sure to avoid her if I ever return in the future. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere for a while though. The products have been lacking for a while. Ending on a more positive note, shout out to the guys who were taking care of the carts outside. I encountered one guy going in and one guy coming out, and they were very friendly! The prices here are good and there was a decent selection of items however there was one employee that was incredibly rude. My friends and I stopped by for snacks and alcohol and an employee, who was an older woman, as I was pulling out my ID was yelling to my cashier, and a whole other cashier in another isle to "check all of their ids, they're all together" accusing us of splitting up to avoid getting carded. I don't mind getting carded as I am young, but to accuse all of us and treat us like we are all trying to pull a fast one was ridiculous! We are all of age and all of us had our IDs.
