Best Yalanchi in town! Stopped by here for a couple items to much on. Love this Armenian Market for…read morefruits, veggies, breads, seasonings, deli items and more! In the refrigerated/area they are stocked with Mezza (appetizer) items like Armenian String Cheese. A great place to stop and pick up stuff for when family or friends are stopping by. Back to the yalanchi though. For those who are not familiar, they are stuffed, chilled grape leaves with a seasoned rice mixture inside, typically with lemon juice, onions, oil, seasoning, and tomato sauce or paste. I can't speak to their exact recipe, but it tastes the closest to our homemade ones we make as a family. I have tried dozens of various businesses, restaurants, etc...simply put- this tastes like grandma used to make, and now what we make. But instead of hours of prep and labor...unless you do it as a family as a special tradition of course...stop by this place and just buy some! Rice is not over or undercooked, leaves are consistently rolled appropriately, and texture is great. Good size too! Flavor- delicious! When purchased, they are chilled and piled in a Styrofoam container. Customer service is great as well! Lots and lots of delicious ingredients and pre-made products here in this special little market. I highly recommend it!

Poor Customer Service…read more I have visited this Armenian grocery store only a few times over the past several years, and unfortunately, my most recent visit left me with a very negative impression. What especially upset me was when the cashier took a bag of chips directly from my child's hands and put it back while she was looking at it. I am teaching my child to always check the expiration date before purchasing food, so there was no reason to treat her this way. Customer service should be respectful and welcoming, especially toward children. After this experience, I do not feel comfortable returning to this store. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the way customers are treated

They have some crazy snacks. They have a lot of energy drinks, chips, candy etc. Call them first…read morebecause they aren't in a storefront any longer. They actually are in a house. We were a little apprehensive at first but it was cool. They had some serious display refrigerators. They were a lot of help giving us advice depending on what we liked. It is pricey but these are very unique snacks. We bought pizza Pringles, Icee cherry candies, meat flavored Cheetos. You get the idea. We paid them with Venmo and everything went well.

The guy running the place was very friendly and welcoming. He's only been open since April so a lot of people probably haven't heard of this store yet, but it's got a great central location on Blackstone near Bullard. Parking was very convenient, right in front of the store. The store is set up nicely by category (noodles, cookies, chips, candy, drinks, etc.). It's easy to find what you're looking for, and if you have any questions, the owner is very helpful. Right now, there's a lot of room in the store to add even more snacks, because the owner's plan (wise, I think) is to start with a few different things, see what's popular, and build accordingly). He mentioned that the chocolate Ritz crackers are popular (I can see why -- very yummy), so no doubt he'll continue to stock those. Also he mentioned expanding to other types of snacks as he fills his store. That's a good idea. See what the people want, right? And add more as your business grows. He mentioned getting some Mexican snacks in the store, and that makes a lot of sense. I bet there's a market for those -- we always like Mexican candy. He also has a "mystery box" option -- and that looks very fun, so go check that out. It would be a good gift for someone who likes to try new foods, or for a hard-to-buy-for person. Your gift recipient might have a lot of things, but you know they don't already have lobster flavored potato chips! On today's trip, we got the chocolate Ritz, mango Oreos (both delicious!), roasted garlic oyster potato chips (oysters are not my thing, but my daughter said the chips tasted _exactly_ like roasted garlic oysters), and a couple of drinks. We only tried one of the drinks so far -- the peach flavored one -- we were expecting a "fruit flavored drink" but it was more like actual juice, with pulp. That was a nice surprise. It was very good. The only other thing to mention is that the snacks are a bit expensive, so you need to expect that, but that's not too surprising right? There's not the volume, in a small snack store specializing in items you can't get anywhere else, that would allow them to match the same prices as, say, FoodMaxx can get from plain old Lay's chips, you know? So expect to pay more, but these are really fun treats. I hope lots of people will go check out this store. There's nothing else like it in Fresno! Support a unique local business!

I also come here for Asian snacks, as they have the widest selection of Pocky, Peppero, Yan-Yan, Hello Panda, etc. This was the original store that we always used to come to for Asian food before it started appearing in regular grocery stores. They also have a solid selection of instant noodles, tea, boba, Asian dessert toppings, and pre-packaged drinks (they even have Thai tea, soju, and konjac jelly). The service is always good, the workers are helpful and quick to get you all checked out and packed up. I've had some not-so-great experiences here and there, but overall good. The store itself is very nostalgic for me, so I might be biased on an ambiance point-of-view, but overall I think the store is clean and easy to navigate.
