Bel Air on Arena Blvd has pretty much become our neighborhood grocery store. It's the closest…read moregrocery store to us, but honestly, the location is what keeps us coming back. It's in a plaza we already visit all the time, so it's just too convenient to pass up. My routine is pretty simple: Orangetheory workout, then Bel Air. Nothing like finishing a workout and immediately rewarding myself by walking through the bakery and prepared foods section. I usually go in for a few things and somehow walk out with a full bag. The rest of the plaza makes life even easier. My wife is constantly making Amazon returns at the UPS Store, Golden 1 Bank is right there, and I can even squeeze in a Great Clips haircut when I need one. So between the gym, groceries, bank, haircut and Amazon returns, we can get a surprising amount done without driving all over Natomas. I like this Bel Air because it's spacious, clean and easy to shop. The produce section is usually good, and there's a nice selection of meat, seafood, deli and prepared foods. The pharmacy , car wash and gas station are also convenient when I want to make one less stop somewhere else. The staff has generally been friendly and helpful whenever I've needed them. A couple things could definitely be better. Checkout is probably my biggest complaint. When the store gets busy, the lines can build up pretty quickly, and opening a few more staffed registers would go a long way. Keeping carts available seems to be another issue. Multiple times carts were not available at the entrance and I had to grab from parking lot. And like any grocery store, keeping shelves stocked and making sure produce stays fresh would make an already good store even better.

They also have an outdoor seating area, which is really nice. Around Independence Day, they even set up a firework stand in the parking lot. Bel Air definitely isn't the cheapest grocery option, but if you're already in the area, it's a very convenient stop, especially if you're running errands at the nearby shops. One downside is that they closed down one of the entrances, so there's only one way in and out now. I'm not sure why they did that, but I remember pre-COVID both doors were open, and parking felt a lot less frustrating. Now, no matter where you park, you end up having to walk all the way to the one working entrance. That said, I do appreciate that the store is usually fully stocked and well-organized, which makes it feel like they have enough employees on the floor. But for some reason, the cashier lines are still always long. Their balloon and flower selection is pretty limited, but I do like their Oriental and Hispanic sections, along with their bakery. The ice cream pies are actually pretty good, and they have a decent seating area near the bakery where you can grab coffee and sit either inside or outside. One of my favorite things is that they offer free fruit for kids. My daughter always looks forward to that the most, and it's a simple but great way to encourage healthy eating. This isn't our first time shopping here, and it definitely won't be our last.

ADJ: Satisfactory…read more This is a pretty good GO. We drive by here at least once a week, so sometimes I would stop in to see what kinds of goodies I can find. I usually buy my essentials from Safeway, but GO carries more specialty snacks, treats, and unique brands at lower cost so I could try new items when I come and see what deals can be had. Sometimes I would find good bargains on food staples too such as tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and the chili starter you see in the picture below. What a good deal the green tomatoes and the chili starter were!! Healthy and organic too! I try to make pasta sauce using different ingredients and add flavor with my own spices rather than use ready-made sauce, it's more economical AND I can adjust the seasoning to fit my family's palate. That's one of many examples where GO really helps me to stretch my grocery budget AND eat healthier. This particular location is quite hit/miss for good deals whereas at the Pocket location, I can usually find at least 1-2 items to try even if they're not the things I was looking for. I've left this store empty handed before, but I've also left with a full cart of items (or many of jus a few items b/c those were such good deals)! But there's often interesting things at any GO such as the Thai curries and easy to make Thai noodles kits you see in my pictures, a wonderful find and not at all supermarkets. Finally, I do appreciate that this store is in a safe, well-lit, quiet, and clean shopping plaza and the parking lot looks fine too. Some of the carts maybe a bit dingy, but overall, it's all ok. Oh Trader Joe's how do I love thee?…read more So much. If I only had to shop at one grocery store for the rest of my days-it would 100% be Trader Joe's. I love the frozen section-the bagged salads-the snacks-the dips-the tiny cakes-the candy section-the alcohol section-the canvas bags. The employees are so nice-always greeting with a smile and always are pretty chipper at the checkout section. The parking at this particular location leaves a bit to be desired but it's manageable. The store is always clean. Clean bathrooms as well, though you need a code. My Top 5 Favorite items at Trader Joe's. 1. Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. 2. Pork Soup Dumplings 3. I needed to stop at Elliott's Natural Foods on El Camino, so I decided to visit the Sprouts in that area while I was there. It was actually my first real experience shopping at Sprouts, and I was genuinely impressed. The store felt welcoming, the selection was noticeably different from what I'm used to seeing at the larger traditional grocery stores, and I really enjoyed being able to browse products that felt like I had more choices when it came to ingredients and quality. It was one of those rare grocery trips where I actually enjoyed taking my time and looking around. What really stood out, though, was how pleasant the entire experience was. The employees were friendly, and the young man who checked me out, Ximon, deserves a special mention. He had such a warm, genuine smile and was incredibly kind and helpful. I don't think I properly thanked him at the time, so I hope someone at Sprouts sees this and makes sure he knows that his kindness was noticed and appreciated. It may have been my first real Sprouts shopping trip, but it definitely won't be my last. It was refreshing to walk out of a grocery store feeling like I had found something different -- both in the food and in the people.

By far the worst experience I have ever felt!!…read more I decided to come here on my 1 hour lunch. I decided I wanted a freshly made sandwich. I stood there at the counter to the left thinking this is the counter to order my sandwich. But I noticed the woman didn't even acknowledge me. Didn't greet but made eye contact. After 5 mins I noticed someone to my right put down a card. Not sure what it was but went over to check. It's a sandwich card to order a freshly made sandwich!! You order in the fashion of what you would like on your sandwich. So I grabbed one, went back to the left and filled it out. I waited another 5 mins and again, the girl doesn't even acknowledge me! I proceeded to go up to her and asked her, "Do I give this to you?" And her response, "Put it over there (points) but you got like 5 people ahead of you". Strange! I only saw 2 people waiting. As I put the card down I wait, then wait, and wait. Is there only one person behind this counter of about 10 employees who can make a sandwich!?? Wheres the help!!? Wheres the "Lets get the customer out the door" attitudes!? I promise you, people are not coming here to get the sandwich for the speed. The woman took about 5-7 mins per sandwich. Stopped and talked to others, strange because I didn't get a greet. Then someone else finally decides to jump in. Mind you, I've been waiting for over 25 mins!! The other woman jumps in and is taking her sweet time. She then tries to get someone's attention that is sitting by the door!!? And to my surprise, shes making my sandwich!! This was another dreadful 10 mins! Like what is going on here!!? I spent 35 mins of my lunch for a sandwich?????? I'm definitely skipping on the sandwich next time. One of the WORST experiences!!!! Total fail on everyone behind the counter! Fail on the "Leads" and "Supervisors" who sat there and did not help out! Recommendation: please make a sign that says, "Start Here".
