I had to go to the back of another long line again and wait all over again. Then she proceeded to check out someone else who appeared to be an employee and when done the both walked upstairs. Whenever we come to visit family in Rio Linda during the holidays we stock up on foodstuff, snacks, drinks, and other delicacies at this particular location. The cashiers work fast, the building itself is quiet and spacious, and the selection of items is actually pretty decent. I am deducting a star though because they do not sell makeup wipes or makeup remover here. I know, I know- who's coming to Food4Less for beauty products? Unfortunately in Rio Linda these days it is harder to find such products, and I'm someone who likes to get all my shopping done at once. BTW- try the fresh French bread in the bakery racks. The grocery store is the best we have had but still sub par for what I want but what can I expect in this area, why has RL not grown and prosperd similar to the components to it. I do not like the new task required by the staff to scan at the end to prove nothing on the bottom was missed, extra unnecessary work If you ask me. I do enjoy having a local grocery store and the prices are good and the items in stock are good but I can't always find what I want or need creating me to make an additional trip so I just bypass them and go where I know I can get everything but they do offer a variety of good grocery items at a good price. I'm grateful to have them even though they don't always meet my needs. FYI can we bring back the holiday decorations please. read more

Service. There's not enough cashiers during peak hours lunchtime and after 5 o'clock, there's lines with only three registers open. And then you get people who are not used to going to the store with money. They swiped her card maybe 14 times and there's zero dollars. And then the cashier leaves her station to help a forklift driver that wanted some wet floor signs which he could've got himself he was 5 feet away from them, but it took her five minutes to get the signs talk to him run around the forklift a couple of times and come back to your cashiering job. This was at 6:30 PM. The best time to come to the store when you have no issues is when they first open at 5 AM you need more cashiers people are gonna stop spending money at the store if you can't provide service. read more

I left a review talking about how the employees have to walk and scan a barcode at the end of the aisle on every single order and the owner replied to me saying it to make sure there's nothing at the bottom of the customers cart. As far as the comments on why the cashiers walk around to scan something, I timed it and it averages about 16.7 seconds per customer. Most of the food is close to expiring. So, Make sure and look at the expiration dates. For the past 6 months or so, Most of the vegetables had already expired and were ready to be fed to the cows and rabbits. However, surprisingly, many of the vegetables were a lot fresher. read more

You will noticed immediately at least this location that this place is HUGE. I liked the wide selection of choices, much of it a bit different than around my area, but it was good to have selections. I came for the empanda's frozen crust, which I seems to only be in certain areas as it was here and reason I came to this (this had better choices than my local mexican store). The prices I must say are mostly cheaper than other places and understand that this is not a high end grocery store as it serves to its population surrounding it, so there may be some "interesting" people around. They have multiple people acting as parking security - I found that very interesting - its an older shopping area by the looks of it. The store itself handles selectively very good, although fruits/citrus were pretty pricey compared to other items (if comparing to other stores). Again I will state it - its a very big store. I'm pretty happy so far. This store seems to be handled much better in the hands of Food 4 Less than Food Source. Areas of mention are: * I noticed for the first time in 5 years a security guard in the store. * There seems to be faster checkouts and more cashiers available. * The store has been freshly painted. * The water dispensers are new (Primo vendor). * They've expanded Asian selections and sell taro root, longsilog, tosilog and lumpia in the freezer section. No longer have to go to South Sacramento! I hope demand for these are high enough to sustain ordering. Great fit for serving out community with a variety of goods at reasonable prices. Hey everybody. Buyers beware Just a heads up if you come to this location and a young lady comes up to you with a cart full of groceries and says. She has 3 kids and she is trying to get by. Sometimes she will be holding a young infant in her arms. The young lady will try to get you to buy all of her groceries in her cart. She will promise to pay you back. Haha. She's a very shady Hispanic young woman. Not to put her down but. She has decaying bottom teeth is the best way to describe her. I have sympathy for people like this. I did purchase a small item. But at the same time. This woman will take advantage of you in any which way possible. And walk away without saying at least. Thank you. This young lady will also claim she is cleaning and she's buying cleaning supplies. Just don't be fooled. I bought her one item and that's it. Only because I have a good heart. I don't care for this store at all. I love Food 4 Less I was raised on that store since I was little. I was happy and thrilled that our town was getting one. I went opening week and didn't buy a thing. In my opinion it's not LESS it's MORE. I wouldn't waste my time or money here at all. The store is very nice and organized and clean. The cart runners were super fast and good at their job. Check out lines appeared to be fast and a lot were open so that's good as it was a busy day.
