There is an older Asian lady that works the self checkout and she's on a power trip. The other lines can be long waits with only 3-4 cashiers available taking 20-30 minutes for checkout, and this lady will still kick you out of self checkout for 13-15 items instead of just 10 causing more congestion at the other registers. I've seen her be rude to people for being a couple items over the 10, and almost the whole self checkout is empty so what's the point. What really set me off was her gossiping about me to another coworker because I didn't know the difference between squash and she painted me as a thief criminal for a couple cent difference. I only knew because I was shopping with someone else and they were close enough to hear her gossiping at the station on the self checkout. Usually the cashiers at this winco are very nice and I haven't had any issues with them besides this lady. I try to avoid her but sometime with the lines it's impossible. read more

With the variety of foods available at Winco along with the great pricing it doesn't make a lot of sense to shop anywhere else. Always a super bargain on one or more items in the fruit and vegetable section. Today is was strawberries and blackberries. What a surprise to see these items on sale in the winter. Less than half the price of Costco and fresh California grown products. The store is always clean, well organized, and fully stocked. The clerks at the check-out aisles are very friendly and professional. It's easy to get help or have questions answered when you are in the store as there is always a few employees re-stocking shelves. If you like saving money in exchange for bagging your own groceries and paying in cash (or debit card) then you've found the right store. They have a huge selection of food for amazing prices. It is the cheapest store in Sacramento even cheaper than Walmart. The cashiers are quick, curt, but polite. They get the job done. Shoppers don't come here for the ambiance just for the savings. You can't beat bananas for 50 cents a pound, milk for $3.25 a gallon. Winco has a huge variety of bulk bins, featuring beans, rice, pasta, candy, flour, nuts, seeds, spices and way more. I have personally saved about $2,450 this year by shifting my shopping for other stores to almost exclusively Winco. read more

This review is related to my shopping experience at this Winco location in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Jennifer who works at self-checkout is extremely rude and needs to be trained in customer service. She is RUDE. Unfriendly. Unpersonable. is Inflexible and rigid about policies. Uncaring. Bad Attitude. Your location needs to put up visible eye level signage regarding the SELF CHECK OUT limit item policy. Your sign on the floor that is not at eye level and gets knocked over does not count. I dislike how she picks and chooses which customer can scan more than 10 items and who cannot. If that is the rule, you need to apply it to everyone and not select who can and who cannot abide by the "10" item limit. Attention Winco Management: Train her on her customer service and re- evaluate her demeanor as a Winco employee. read more

I had a great experience today (9/19/25) at the Antelope Winco! I came in and bought about 40 items and at the checkout I was helped by a wonderful cashier named Niya and I just wanted to come on here to say how friendly, fast and kind she is. She scanned my items and I was through the checkout in no time at all, and her friendly attitude left me headed on my way with a smile on my face! She is a great asset to the Winco team! Two things: 1. Large letters in the front of the store "24 HOUR SAVINGS". I went there at 5AM and they were closed. Is 5AM not included in the 24 hour day? 2. The grocery carts are AWFUL!!! Make sure when you place a large order of chicken that you confirm your order. I placed an order for a large party, and when I went to pick up the chicken at the time I requested, they said they had it down to be ready the next day. Really?! Worse service of all the winco's I have been to. I shop at Elk Grove and Citrus Heights and Roseville. Nobody cares how many items I check out with at self checkout except the Antelope location. I'm a fast scanner. I've worked retail before and know how to scan and pack my items. I wanna be in and out, thus why I'm in self checkout. Antelope is the only location that gives me crap just by looking at my cart and telling me I can't use self checkout because I have over 15 items. So I took 15 items, all Rockstars out of the basket and scan and pay. My husband scans the rest of the basket. He ends up with 20 items and the lady at the front gets an attitude, like you guys can't come here next time because you just scanned over 15 items. Mind you, there was no line. No one cares except for the clerk. No harm no fowl. What's the big deal? You have a job because I spend my money here. That's my rant for the day. It's Beef Stew Tuesday! Got of early from work today, hence, the grocery shopping. Not a lot of people early weekday mornings, I like it like that :) The meat aisle was fully stocked. Meat were fresh. Fruits and vegetables great as always. I got me a bag of red delicious apples, peaches, bananas and mandarin oranges. On to the meat aisle, chuck roast. Got some cage free brown eggs, salted butter (cake always taste better with salted butter.) Next aisle, got me some broth, chicken cubes, pot roast seasoning, bay leaves (use 2) gumbo file (for future gumbo), a peanut butter cookie mix and that's it. You know, for $10 with of chuck roast, it's a dinner for 3 and with leftovers. Recipe: cut into large cubes, slice up the celery to an inch size, baby carrots, 4 medium size potatoes - cut Into halves, pot roast seasoning, 1 large chicken/beef broth, 1-3 cups of water, a pinch of salt, bay leave optional- a pinch of rosemary, oregano and thyme. And, a dash or Worcestershire sauce if you have one sitting at home, otherwise you can throw in one chciken buillion. Voila, Winco carries all the above for a tasty, comforting beef stew you and your family can enjoy today, tomorrow and whenever. Oh yes, brown the beef (coat it throughly with flour) then add the broth and water, potatoes, carrots, celery, pot roast seasoning and cook at medium heat. My favorite place to shop unless my fiancé is with me( he acts like a 5 year old with the candy) lol Not but really they have hand sanitizer and masks as soon as you walk in. And spray for your cart. They always have the best deals when you walk in!! But be careful bc most of it is junk food! I love the lay out!! You have all the fruit and vegetables as soon as you come in. I have never seen rotten food. And I used to work for grocery stores: so I know they are in too of it. We always get great deals on deli products. And we can't help ourselves to get some candy or granola from dispensary. Also love the coffee beans. Great prices on meat and poultry! Plus they have some items we can't find other places like Coke Zero Pepsi zero and now Mt.dew zero!! Checkout might be a little hectic depending on time and date but cashiers always super nice! The Deli foods: The chicken strips taste like rubber cardboard boxes, no flavor, almost fell asleep chewing. Orange chicken taste like rubber duck my kids play with in tub, my dogs enjoyed it more then me. So far the cold deli cooks, in my opinion, does the minimum amount just to get by, just like buffet food, cooked all same, sell by quantity not quality. Waste of chickens. read more

For being a grocery store and knowing full well that they carry perishables I find it very funny that they don't have a back up power system (like generators or solar panels) to keep their store fully powered in case there is a black out or if their main power source goes out. Because since they have no power not only is all their product probably gonna go bad but they can't accept any other payment but cash. Who has cash on them anymore? It's not safe to carry it on you. Normally I do love shopping at this store. The prices are reasonable and far more economically affordable; the staff are pretty nice and it's clean. But I just felt they failed miserably (business-wise and from management point of view) in not having a back up power system to at least keep their food within the safe temp zones. read more

This rating is solo for the white lady that work the self-checkout lanes. Every time we come here this lady always have an attitude problem with us (maybe everyone else too). Just like tonight (12/21 at 11pm) we were at the self checkout lane right in front on her. We said hi and she just ignored us and rolls her eyes at us (nice way to to interact with customers). So many time we been here she never greeted us in anyway (very welcoming and professional of her). At the end of our checkout the 1st time we ask for plastic bags (which we paid for) she acts like she didnt hear us even thought our eyes met, so I ask an 2nd time and she said go get it yourself (which the bags was right next to her in a box). I was like wow and shocked at the sametime. Is this really how Winco selected there employees standards nowadays!!! I just left this winco at 10pm on 01/15/2021. Over half the staff was walking around the store without a mask. I don't mean not wearing appropriately, I mean a mask was not being worn whatsoever. Im grateful that half the staff appeared to be taking things serious, and they deserve competent management and a workplace that fosters responsibility and accountability. I have been a patron of this location for years and I am disgustingly disappointed and saddened right now. Location #0036 needs competent management. Had issue with bags being slit on bottom. Wasn't noticed till I got home. Try to get item missing from it replaced because of the rip in the bag. Was hung up on. If you bring your own bags and never need customer service then my rating would be much higher. read more

Quick Tip: Bakers' dream; they sell different kinds of flour, yeast, chocolate, sugar, everything by the ounce/pound. What I wish is that we have a WinCo or a similar offer from grocery stores here in San Jose. I don't cook or bake from a jar a box (cake mix, brownie mix, spaghetti sauce, etc.) so I normally have to resort into buying things to bake or cook by by bag or box that it comes in. I only need a pinch or two of powdered sugar, why should I have to buy the entire big ass bag? And sometimes I only need 1/4 cup of cake flour! #firstworldproblems I came here around 6am from a weekend at my best friend's. I am usually up early and so is my little one so I thought we should go for a walk and explore. I left my wallet at home on purpose because if it weren't for that restraint, I would have bought a lot of things I would surely regret. BTW- they have Lay's: chicken and waffles and Sriracha. Behold, the new chocolate and peanut butter Pop Tarts are also available! A Walmart, Grocery Outlet, and a Costco all in one. I see things in bulk which reminds me of Costco, things that aren't in bulk that are cheap that reminds me of the other two. This place is great for grocery shopping in general whether or not you are on a budget. A huge produce and vegetable section, the usual stuff you see at grocery stores, and a fairly large bakery section. I somewhat screamed silently to myself when I saw it. I loved it! Here is a tip: do not buy ingredients intended for Asian cooking and here's why.. I spent 2-3x the amount it should have cost. If you want to make chow fun then I suggest you improvise or come up w/ another dish because this place do not carry wide rice noodles. What I made for my friends despite the obstacles: chicken and eggs chow fun and chicken chow mein. The only reason why I cooked on my mini getaway was because I do enjoy cooking and I wanted to reach my friend's sister-in-law how to cook basic stuff for the kids but she not only didn't watch but she couldn't tell me where the broom was. We are traveling through California. Although hotels have coffee makers, the coffee pouches are terrible. I found a 1 1/2 cup French press at Target for under $20. The press requires coarse ground not fine. But didn't want to spend more on a grinder. Called several markets in the Sacramento area, nobody had coffee grinders for customer use. I called WinCo talked to a very nice lady, and she had the solution right away for me. We went in, chose the coffee we wanted and used their grinder on coarse grind. Thank you WinCo ! read more

WinCo Foods! This is definitely not Costco! This place is economy and usually very crowded! So to avoid the crowds try to shop there before 10 AM on weekdays. And, unless absolutely necessary, try to stay away from WinCo on weekends and holidays. Although if you need to shop there on weekends and holidays I suggest that you get there when they open before the crowds. Aside for the crowds, WinCo Foods has a large selection of quality products to choose from. And at much cheaper prices then say Safeway, Raley's, and Bel Air. The Produce department is stocked and well maintained; awesome place to get bulk veggies like Onions and such. The deli section also is well stocked; excellent place to purchase lunch meats and cheese. And for canned goods WinCo Foods is the place to stock your pantry. About the only thing I don't buy there is Beef; I'm very picky when it comes to beef and will pay for quality. All in all, WinCo Foods is a great place to shop and maintain your budget. I'm usually seen there once a month when I do my shopping. Remember to get there early and get out quickly before the crowds. Enjoy! read more

I'll keep this review plain and simple. As many of you that shopped at WinCo knows how they run things. They're an employee owned company. As you walk in you see all kinds of deals for example 1LB bag of pistachios $5.50, bag of chips $2 & some change, cans of mixed vegetables 70 cents etc. Today we grabbed fresh cherries, blueberries, potatoes, green onions, olives, water and a few other groceries. This store is very big and they're stocked with goodies. Prices are affordable and service is great.
