This is for the very nice cashier that checked me out. It was Friday 10/10/25 around noonish ...she has glasses and black hair...there was a 15 items or less sign that was turned next to the chips beverage case. A nice older lady and I were unsure to unload our groceries and asked her if it was an express line.. before we proceeded. She said no it was not ..and to go ahead and start to put our groceries up. She came around and moved the sign and continued checking us out with such nice customer service and kindness...I wish I got her name and I can't find my receipt. Prices vary on items but sometimes it cost more and sometimes less than competitors. The perishable item veggies and fruits are never good quality here. The cashier lines are always super long. Last week we came my boyfriend and I were near the frozen section and saw a big rat run across the top of the shelves. Heard of these issues never seen it but made it enough not to ever go back. Doesn't matter because the lines are still huge and slow and sometimes people have more than 15 items while some of us only have 2-3 items! Worst managed grocery store I have ever been to. It doesn't matter what time you go, you're waiting 15-20 minutes just to check out. Constantly understaffed and I've caught several items that were expired and still on the shelves. Today was the final straw, after waiting 10 minutes to check out, I was told that I had too many items for that line and that I would have to get into another line. You people had three cashiers working at the time with a crazy line...be less concerned about how many items I have and more concerned with getting people out the door. I left my cart full of groceries and walked out, I will not be treated this way and give ANY money to this establishment. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years...never again. read more

Unlike other grocery stores, Food 4 Less has been able to continue selling most of their products. But there is one main reason why they get 5 stars, they have been taking precautions to protect us from COVID 19. The floors have been marked with colored tape, pointing out the distance we need to keep from others who are waiting in line to either enter the store or to check out. The cashiers are also safe behind the new acrylic boards that were just installed and help prevent the spread of the virus. And finally, one of the employees told me that they were all given a $2 rise for working during this time. Good call Food 4 Less! read more

All I gotta say is that, if you can't hang in the ghetto...then stay out of it. For those of us who are from the so-called "ghetto," the local Food 4 Less is an economic haven. Prices are reasonably low and the quality is excellent. I'm here at least once a week, picking up a few things here and there, and yes, lines can definitely be long. The service is excellent, though I do tend to greet people first. But, the staff is always helpful and patient. The store is clean and I love how its open all day. read more

I was visiting Stockton during the 4th of July holiday weekend and went into this store at least eight times. Every single time that I checked out, it happened to be the same cashier. Anna is the Food4Less cashiers name. Not only were she polite, helpful, and the fastest at checking out customers, she was tired. Not that it mattered though, with the composure of a professional, Anna just kept her smile greeting and the cash register ringing. I review places all over, but while visiting Stockton, I was greeted with nasty attitudes, over pricing, and racism. This employee did her job and made my day easier. A Big Thank You to Anna for making just a little difference in a person's day! The 5 stars are for the employee, not the store. read more

I am writing about China Deli at Food 4 less (I could not find a listing) First of all SHAME ON YOU! ! They have switched to smaller 3 compartment trays & are still charging the same price!!!! You are getting less food & paying the same price! I was just in there about 1 hr ago, and YES I did notice!! Ok, other than that, the food is really tasty, the BBQ pork is nice & tender, the fried chicken is super crispy not over battered, always hot & fresh. I would much rather go to Savemart in Lathrop and pay a little more. 2 stars because it's close to home and cheap. The rating is more so on the environment that surrounds the store and inside the store really since its significant. There are "government housing" projects nearby and low-income neighborhoods despite it being in a 'supposedly nice' suburbia location. So this all equates to ghetto looking people that comes here, gangbanger wannabes everywhere, and the parking lot is super dirty and nasty. Any store that needs a security guard out front automatically gets one star. I try not to shop in the hood unless it's an emergency which is why I was at Food 4 Less last week. Right as I was making tacos, I realized that I forgot to buy tortillas...ugh! Safeway is 15 minutes away and I really didn't feel like driving all the way over there. My only other option was ::sigh:: Food 4 Less. Surprisingly, the store was pretty clean (which is why it's 2 stars instead of 1) but service was terrible. We went to the express lane and apparently "express" means "I'm too busy to say hello or even acknowledge your presence". The girl took my money and gave me my change without saying one word! I would have said something to her but she probably would have made a phone call and her whole family would have been waiting for me out in the parking lot. Don't mess with the homies! read more

This is a horrible grocery store because first of all there was no parking so I parked about a 1/4 mile down the road not to mention when I came back I found a ticket on my windshield. After a 1/4 mile prewalk I Finally walked in the store to find out that there was nothing of which I was looking for, I guess the hooligans in that area hate organic food. I was stuck buying some apple juice that was faker then D'Andre's Bred 11's. while in line the dang cashier stopped midway just to use the restroom and came back about 5-10 minutes later eating her lunch and shut the lane down, I dispise her. Once I finally got my apple juice (after 25 minutes) I walked outside and who would of known, a freakin vieja tamalera is waiting outside trying to offer me tamales so I had to buy 1. That tamale was gross and to make matters worst I got a huge stomach ache(those under wears and pants went straight to the garbage). Not a good store, never coming back. I ran out of fruit and was lazy to go to my usual grocery store so I decide to not be a "snob" and go to Food 4 Less....so I walk in and there are the raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Now I LOVE raspberries with my morning oatmeal ok....I mean, I just want some frickin raspberries...but no..of course not, Food 4 Less just had to go be ghetto and ALL of the containers of raspberries were moldy and infested with those annoying fruit flies/gnats whatever. Moldy. Like covered in mold. The strawberries and blueberries were decent thank God. So ok....I get over the shock of the infested berries so I go look for Dannon Greek Yogurt. I park my cart right next to the yogurt...not in the way at all and I turn my back for a minute to grab some yogurts...well I turn back and there is a herd of frontal buttocks Wet and Wild wearing eyeliner on lips ghetto mamas eyeing my 5.11 Tactical "purse". One was already reaching for the cart to do God knows what to it. Seriously??? Gotta be that ghetto?? C'mon, I'm Southside born and raised and I'm not horrid like that. The parking area seems to always have weirdos but it's big so parking is not a problem. The store is always crowded especially during holidays but has really good prices. They do have a video rental machine that's an imitation of redbox BUT is more expensive! Otherwise nice store. read more

In the last six months the store parking lot has become a demilitarized zone. Openly selling drugs, homeless asleep on the walkways, motorhomes taking up residence in the parking lot along with big diesel trucks. Pot holes in the lot. No security whatsoever. Ever since the Auto Zone opened up there are discarded oil cans, people working on their cars and used oil in containers in the parking lot. My daughter in-law went to the Chinese deli and watched one of the cooks blow his snot in the sink right in front of the customers. This is not a happy place. read more

The produce at this store is horrible. Salad has been soupy and watery the last 3 times I have been in here. Most of the time the apples have holes in them or have a lot of mushy spots like they are old, not fresh. We deserve better. This store advertises fresh produce, meat, etc daily. This is a lie.
