Wow. The food was excellent. We were going out after so my wife and I split a pulled pork sandwich and some potato salad. It came with some of the best slaw we w ever had. Not the traditional kind. There was only 2 people who served the beer and food and what a great couple they are. The beer was so damn good. Limited selection but that's what made it great. It's hard to find a "GOOD" BBQ place, especially because I'm spoiled with my husbands delicious smoked meats. Even when we went to Texas, I wasn't impressed. Until now! Wow...these ribs may have been even better than my husbands. (Don't tell him I said that). They had just the right seasoning, smoke, and so moist and tender but yet you weren't fighting them falling off the bone. I am definitely impressed. Well Done! This get points up from me for being a "guy with a dream" establishment. The owner and his wife did homebrewing (beer) and smoked meats as hobbies, eventually turning a barn beside their house into a brewpub that serves authentic BBQ. The inside seating is small, but a large pavillion out back gives you picnic tables and plenty of fellow travellers to talk to. The beers are brewed in small batches on site and were good. The Dark Sky stout was my favorite. My wife had the beef brisket, which was excellent, and I had the pulled pork, which was good (could use more smoke). The side dishes, BBQ slaw and beans, were excellent. We extended our vacation to come here... only open for the 4 day weekend! read more

We were traveling through the area and found this brewery on TripAdvisor. Upon arrival, I had my doubts since the entrance looked like a house driveway, but after finding the actual brewery, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a small brewery, but the beer was very good, and I can't say enough good things about the ribs--definitely get the ribs! We visited on a Saturday, and since the weather was so nice, we opted to sit outside at one of the picnic tables in the back. I would definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area. read more

It's very rare these days to come across a place where a guarantee from an owner is not hyperbole, or a flex of ego, but rather an understanding and confidence in their craft. Growing up in Missouri--and being well-traveled with frequent visits to family in Texas--means that I've come to have a certain level of expectation of what to expect from BBQ spots. For instance, meats may be on point, but the sides? Ehhh, a little "packaged and phoned in". Dear reader, I mean this when I say that I have no desire to mislead you: Creekside Brewing Company may be the best BBQ experience I've had. Ever. Some dear friends of ours have lived in Crossville for over a decade, and I've never seen them rave about a place like this. We just had to make it happen. The grounds and atmosphere are warm and inviting. It feels like home, which is fitting because it apparently is. Now, you'll have to trust me: Everything--I mean EVERYTHING--was exceptional. The attention to detail and seasoning of all elements were exemplary. You might imagine that with craft beer and smoked meat as the central focus, those sides could be an afterthought. No indeed! I was ANGRY after tasting the Loaded Baked Potato Salad because I don't think I've had something so good at a BBQ joint. I highly recommend the sampler: The brisket is to die for--only to be revived so you can indulge in the ribs and pulled pork. But HOW are they knocking it out of the park on the beer as well?! The Backwoods Irishman and Bobby D were smooth and delectable. Would've left with a growler if I could've checked it for our flight. If you're passing through between Nashville and Knoxville, don't just zoom through Crossville or settle on that Beaver Brisket alone. We drove down and we're so glad we did. The beer was great. We tried three different kinds. The food was the most amazing Texas barbecue I've had in a long time. Wow, was this a wonderful surprise! We had just visited some waterfalls and decided it was time to look for a local brewery. We stumbled upon Creekside brewing! It looked as if it was if someone's home, but after parking, we noticed that it was actually a separate building on the side of someone's Home property. I hear that it was a farmer with over 75 acres that ended up growing tired of farming and decided to go with his passion of brewing and barbecue. We walked in and we're welcomed by everyone! It's a very small place but has lots of seating area outside. They had a great selection of different beers for everyone and also had a great menu! I got the brisket nachos and it was so much food! You can tell they really know how to do barbecue! It did not disappoint! The owner was super friendly, laughed a lot and enjoyed what he did! We sat out on the property and enjoyed rolling Hills with hay bales, and people were welcome to bring their dogs and sit outside as well. This is the type brewery we are always looking for and will definitely visit again when we are back in Tennessee! It is a must try and must become a frequent or if you live in the area! If it looks like you're pulling into someone's driveway... you found the place. It looks like a homebrewing & BBQ hobby barn next to someone's house. There's a few tables inside, a picnic shelter behind, a gazebo, some free standing picnic tables and great country views of the surrounding fields. The BBQ here is absolutely super. We loved the pulled pork, brisket, BBQ beans, and cilantro coleslaw. I had the beer flight to try all six offerings and found two that I really loved. We weren't too sure about the beef brisket since the best is in Texas. Well, this brisket was delicious! Lean, great dry rub, tender and well smoked! The pulled pork was good but we can't be an accurate judge since we're not from the south. Barbeque to us is beef with the only pork being hot links/sausage. The barbeque sauce was delicious, sweet but not too sweet with just the right amount of spice. Reminded me of the barbeque sauce at my favorite Texas barbeque restaurant. The beans were absolutely delicious, not sweet baked beans. Soo good! All of the food was great and is described as follows..... - Brisket: this was moist, well seasoned and had good bark. - Ribs: tender, deliciously seasoned and fell off the bone. Loaded potato salad: just imagine a loaded baked potatoes served as a potatoe salad and that's what it is. Creamy and well balanced. Slaw: very different from the norm not overly wet and not dry. Just right. It goes great with the bbq flavor. Beer: smooth with good alcohol content and right amount of carbonation. Over all, very nice people running a great business. Still traveling and stayed in Crossville, TN. Met up with friends to find a brewery stop.... Creekside Brewing. What a find!! Stopped in on a rainy day... a small Brewery. They do have aMet Eric, the Owner. He explained why he wasn't producing their own beer now, mostly due to product shortages. But, they have plenty of guest taps and a menu. Walking in, we could smell the smoked brisket.... It made our mouths water. We asked for a "sample" taste. Eric, was so willing to accommodate our tastebud curiosity. His smoked Brisket & Pulled Pork was extremely tender, juicy and just melted in our mouths....... Awesome!! We took a pound of each back home. Definitely a good place to stop... for beers, BBQ and just good old good conversation. read more

Very scenic property and tiny establishment, although they fit seating for about ten inside and there are picnic tables outside under a gazebo type structure. Very friendly service. We were happy to see the decent sized menu of beers to choose from and I settled on the IPA while my wife tried a flight of their craft beers. We also ordered the brisket plates. Food took a reasonable time to come out and looked great. Unfortunately, the brisket had a chemical aftertaste, like possibly a lighter fluid, although it was very tender and there was plenty of it. The beans were way, way too salty for us, but delicious otherwise. The cole slaw was a spicy, full bodied slaw, without the standard Mayo-type base and would probably surprise someone ordering who were expecting a typical slaw. I don't mind new experiences and this one was just ok. The beers were all surprisingly very mediocre. They really can't compare with any of the other microbrews in the area (Swing-On, Calfkiller, etc). The best of the lot was the IPA, which I would order again but was not as bitter or flavorful as your typical IPA and would probably disappoint an IPA lover. All in all, a really nice place run by nice folks, but I think both the food and beer could be tweaked a bit to compete with the amazing BBQ and beers around the Crossville area. read more
