Their turkey club is a second favorite if I'm craving bacon on my sandwich (they also have a jalapeño bacon!). Their other deli sandwiches are great, like the original with a mix of luncheon and other deli meats. I love their lesser known meatball sandwich and cheeseburger. My wife's favorite is the pastrami. The staff at Alvin Ord's are some of the nicest folks I've met in the restaurant industry, and they're always super helpful to new and old customers alike. The vibe of the shop is like a little beachside surf shop, super casual and comfy, with indoor seating at mismatched tables, along with two screened in porches--one that's dog friendly. Once inside, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which is exactly what I've come to expect from Island Bagel. The bagel was under-toasted, and the eggs were overcooked. While "stale" may not be the perfect word, the eggs gave the impression that they had been sitting for a while rather than being freshly prepared. The fresh, made-to-order quality I've come to associate with Island Bagel simply wasn't there during this visit. I'm hopeful this experience was an exception rather than the norm.
