I visited my neighborhood Food Lion Store to pick up a specific item needed to complete a dish I was preparing. The store is always clean and stocked. The service I received from Lee was way beyond my expectations. He saw us headed toward the lines and immediately caught our attention to let us know that he could help. This prevented us from standing in line. He was friendly, very professional and made us feel valued. He was concerned and asked whether we were able to find all the items that we needed. This was my first time at this Food Lion!! You can get lost in here!! if you're not a regular shopper. I had to get my Honey Battered Nuggets this is the ONLY store that sells them. I used to eat Weaver Honey Battered Nuggets growing up so when I found FL had them and they tasted just like my Childhood food I was so happy!!... I Met Frankie who was at CS and he helped me a great deal, I had a rain check and he helped me through the whole process, was very kind and even looked up a new juice I was looking for. it truly made my day because every other place I searched was sold out!! This store has very nice ambiance and selections of Bakery, Produce, seafood etc and it's so organized and easy to choose, the people are very helpful and accommodating. I'd definitely return here just from the customer service and products alone! read more

Let me start with I've used this location for the last 26 years. It has gone from Food lion to Bloom and then back to Food lion during that time. When it first went in the attention to detail was great. Loved the staff. Only person from the good old days that is still there is a fella by the name of Chris. He is the shinning star of the store. The rest fall some where between okay to horrible. I'm not a stranger to grocery stores as an employee in my youth and now as a patron. As a patron this location lacks in keeping the shelves stocked, fronted and clean. The meat department is hit or miss. I think they just have to deal with what ever is delivered to them. Dairy and frozen section are good, produce is good most of the time and the Deli area does a good job. The elephant in the room is the cashiers. Lord help me. Most are not courteous. Just want to get through the transaction and get back to their phone or socializing amongst themselves. They don't know how to bag at all. Everything gets thrown in the same bag till over filled. No separation of items, Dry goods, cleaning supplies, meats or even eggs. I even asked do they train them. they said no. "They don't have time to" they said. One cashier, an older woman, has even made the comment "Well this isn't a carrier choice". Which I find comical as she has been there for nearly 5 years. Also they don't seem to stay on top of gathering the carts. Many times you'll see three of them, management and two others, just standing around watching the self check stations. Another fun thing about the carts is the wheels will lock when it reaches a certain distance from the store. Which I understand the rational behind it. The problem is that it locks before reaching the outer edges of the parking lot. So some poor elderly person is trying to drag the cart to their car and then back to a corral. Grateful to visit my Food Lion. I've lived here since the store arrived. It was briefly Bloom, but was so glad that became FL again. The employees, especially Diane at the front end, and Heather at the register make it a delight to do my shopping. Today, the Store Manager happened to walk by dairy section and checked to see if an item I was looking for was in the back.As he scanned it, stated that even the warehouse was out of stock. Thanks to those employees like John in produce, Diane up front and Heather at the register that make my visits enjoyable. I love My Food Lion. read more

I have been shopping at this Food Lion for decades. I used to live in Odenton so it was incredibly convenient. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable I am beyond friendly. Whenever I go I am always greeted by name and treated like I am a VIP. This is definitely a no-frills grocery store. But that does not mean that they do not offer a great selection and that you will probably find everything you are looking for. You definitely will! The prices are very affordable and they always tend to have a lot of the newer products very quickly. Despite the fact that we moved out of the community, we are willing to drive 15 extra miles just for the service we receive. If you are looking for a grocery store that is easy to navigate, offers all of the items that you need, and a lot of great specials, this is the place for you! read more

This place is terrible! The prices are SUPER HIGH, and the customer service is the worst I have ever received in my life. Hopefully you believe me so you don't come here and find out how great this place really is. I come here religiously. I will not, can not shop at any other grocery store. The employees are really friendly, and for the last 2 years its been pretty much the same core staff members. The guys in the meat sections stay on top of everything. The markdowns are ridiculous. My last visit i purchased (3) $18.00 pork shoulders for $6.50 a piece. Today I came in for milk and a pack of chicken breast. I ended up spending 70 bucks, and walking out with a cart full of stuff. Including a steak dinner for 5 people that only ran me $10.00. You can really find just ridiculous deals here, ITS TERRIBLE!!! read more

This Food Lion has been very consistent for me in terms of their pricing and stock level. I have gotten mediocre fruit here on more than one occasion which is why they're not 5 stars. I don't blame stores for their stock levels due to COVID and shortages. The employees here are always around and I love that. You walk in and there is someone always available. This is what keeps me coming back here. It's one thing to have no cashiers AND no employees on the floor - a lot of stores do this now! It's so hard to find an employee that isn't busy stocking. And i feel bad interrupting them. But not here, Food Lion has employees all over. And yes they're working but the abundance of them makes the environment more approachable. They're patient and kind here. I rly like this store and have been in the area a long time. read more

This Food Lion is very clean, laid out with wide aisles and friendly staff. I find it a pleasure to go this grocery store. It's never crowded unless you go on a weekend and then it can be. They always seem to have what I'm looking for. There "meal deal" is a bargain. The rotisserie chicken is very moist and tasty. Did I say the staff was friendly? It is within walking distance of where I live. I admit I am not trying to give up my rock star parking. The hours of 7am to 11pm are great in case I am missing that last ingredient or a just need a few items I could have missed earlier in my grocery shopping adventures. The store is very clean and the staff is actually willing to help instead of some places where they try to pretend as if they did not see you. I have to admit depending on where you are some Food Lions can be on the horrible side. This is not the case with this particular one. Make sure you sign up for the MVP card as there is a kiosk at the front of the store that offers coupons specific to your shopping needs. read more

Sometimes I set out to write reviews and I think to myself "damn, you're old." I am officially at the "I have a favorite grocery store" age, people. Food Lion is not my favorite grocery store (Aldi, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, in that order), but it is the closest grocery store to where I live and has been so convenient for me during my most deparate times. What are some of those? When I had a taste for a strawberry eclair ice cream that I haven't had since I was 9. When I ran out of my Arnold's sandwich skinnies (because a regular loaf wouldn't do). When I absolutely had to have Hawaiian bread at 10pm. Sad truths aside, this Food Lion has always been well stocked and kept clean. During this time, I have been able to find toilet paper, paper towels and some cleaning supplies, so make sure to check back frequently. Shoutout to one of the nicest cashiers there, MJ! She is awesome and so helpful. It really makes your trip pleasant when someone is kind. read more

I love this store and have been shopping here for many years. Recently there has been a man who works in the produce department who is just rude and can't be bothered. I tried to get the employees attention to ask a question(he was on his phone) and he rolled his eyes and proceeded to just move his cart into another area and then returned in a huff. I can't think of a time where anyone at that store has been that way. read more

Nice regular grocery store. They have an organic food isle, which is nice. However, not as much selection as I would like. Not always stocked. I have come to the store to buy brown eggs and they didn't have any. Sometimes they don't have organic milk too. But for a grocery store they're okay. Very rude customer service!! I was just in the store and was confused on how the shop your way rewards and back to school earnings work. I have the food lion app and it tracks the Departments I earn my rewards. Well I needed to spend another 3 dollars to reach my goal in the fruit department and another 5 dollars for back to school earnings from that category. Well I paid those two items first to earn the reward so I can use that to pay for my other items. The machine was being a bit slow and it didn't take my points off. The manager came over with a additude and took some savings off which was not what I was trying to explain! So I asked him to void it so I could go on my app to see if my rewards was on there!! He had the biggest additude that he had to do it and treated me like I was pulling a scam or something!!! I then went to a cashier to explain what I was trying to do and he was very helpful!! That manager was completely out of line and very rude! I apologized several times and he just ignored me!! I will not be back in that particular location!! I worked customer service over 10 years and never would I or my co workers treat a customer like that!! read more

We just moved into the area and after checking out all the different food stores we've found that we like this Food Lion the best. I am so grateful to have this Food Lion in my neighborhood. I have never shopped here and had a bad experience. Any small problems were fixed right away. No problem. The staff look happy to work there. I do wish they were allowed to have water at their stations, however, there are always many sides to every decision. Great sales. Clean store.
