Everyone at Food Lion are exceptional. The only thing that bothers me is when you have all those girls with the carts doing the pick up shopping. Sometimes the store is too crowded for them to be amongst the crowds of people. read more

i wanted to reach out to compliment john in the deli at the old folkstone, sneads ferry, nc location. last week i lost my iphone and was so nervous racing back and forth trying to find it. john from the deli obviously is an observant soul and he was out of uniform leaving, but asked if i had. lost a phone. he walked me to the hot bar and my phone was in the cart i'd. left it. he was off duty and didn't have to stop to assist me but he did! please thank him for being a stellar young man! he's an excellent representative of the food lion organization! read more

Since moving to Sneads Ferry in 2022 I have read people complaining about the Food Lion. Saying we need another grocery store and so forth and so on. To tell you the truth I have no idea what they are talking about. It's a grocery store, the shelves are stocked with food. The people that work there are kind and knowledgeable. Do they run out of things that are on sale, sure it happens same as any other grocery store. It's a local store, it is not large in terms of newer grocery stores but it works just fine. People live to complain but never have a solution. Good people, parking lot is clean and plentiful. read more

Went to the store or 3 things that included a bottle of wine and I went to the self checkout because there was no line and again I only had 3 things and the lady asked for my ID and said "next time go to the register, I don't have time to do this that's why it's called a self checkout" and walked back to her corner and stood there. Just got home from Sneads Ferry Food Lion! Johnny in the Deli is the Best! When I asked about Fried Chicken, Johnny stopped slicing Salami and approached with a friendly smile He said they had sold out... Then he offered to cook some more! That's was GREAT! He said it would take 23 min So, I wandered around and gathered the other items I needed When I checked back with Johnny the Chicken had 3 mins to go WOW! What service! Again JOHNNY IS THE BEST! I'm from Illinois so the name of this store is quite hilarious but in all honesty, this place is quite busy especially since it's the only grocery store ( I believe) next to North topsail beach. Prices are fair for the times we're living in lines move by fairly. Staff isn't too bad. They did close off their liquor section in the middle of the day though without explanation... My low score is for the staff. There have been significant improvements in the way we perceive employee engagement and employee happiness. More and more managers have come to understand that their team members are their most valuable resource and employee happiness can have a crucial impact on business overall.  My experience is that Food Lion is filled with unhappy people. Most every Food Lion is like another. And this one is thankfully like any other too. It has a full selection of stuff for one's Topsail cooking. My family doubted they would have thai red curry paste for a particular curry I wanted to make with fresh grouper from the nearby Shrimp Lady, but yeah Food Lion has it! This is the major supermarket in Sneadsferry, NC and it's pretty big. They have a huge parking lot. It's always clean and have a big selection of groceries. The market is well maintained and the staff are always helpful. I like when drive to visit family so I can take some groceries back that we don't have in NYC. Plus the prices are cheaper than in NYC. The lines can move a little slow at check out but cashiers are smiling and working so just be patient. read more

I was pleasantly surprised while picking up a few grocery items from this store that the cashier honored the Food Lion customer rewards prices without me having a card to be scanned (and without me requesting the sale pricees). I regularily carry my Kroger card with me in Kentucky and I make sure I have my Safeway card when I travel to the west coast as both those chains charge full price without a loyalty card. Terrible experience with Tammy. I have been going here several times a week for many years. Went through the self check to buy about ten cans of cat food. I finished scanning and entered phone number for VIP. Message on screen said item unsellable. I called her over and I thought she said it was the last item I scanned so I said OK. She clarified what she said with nothing but attitude saying, "NO WHAT was the last item you scanned!" I tried to explain to her that I didn't remember the chronology of items of similar cat food tins that scanned. By that time my blood was staring to boil so I told her to just forget and walked off. I did nothing wrong. It was their system malfunctioning. Tammy should find work outside of the customer service industry. Perhaps a corrections officer. read more

This particular Food Lion is close to the beach and excellent for those who are on vacation and what not. It's very clean inside and well kept. The fruit/vegetable area is always stocked with nice looking veggies and fruits. There is one thing that I noticed is that the prices are a bit higher here than the one as you are coming from New River Air Station. Now I'm assuming this is due to this particular Food Lion is located in a tourist area. I would advise if one is on a budget and you need provisions before coming that way get it beforehand. The employees are always so chipper and professional. Here if there is for example 4 people in one lane they'll immediately open another. I must say you will not be waiting for extended amounts of time to check out. The bakery area always smells so good with their goodies going! They also do deli meat that's already packaged for pick up and go! They slice it and have it ready ...I picked up a pound of blackened turkey and didn't have to wait " grab, pay and go ". They have several packages ready of turkey, ham etc which is awesome! read more

Well stocked, prices are good. Their bakery and cheese section are delicious. Fully stocked wines, beers and other cocktail mixes/spirits. There are "we support our troops" stickers on their outer entrance, which I can appreciate. The staff are all very young, nothing wrong with this, but a few times I have asked about certain items or things and they literally have no-clue what I'm asking about, or even know what they carry in stock, least direct me either. --quickly getting back to personal conversations. I've noticed on several occasions that hair restraints are not worn while produce is being stocked. --they may be more tempted to run their fingers through their hair, then touch the food, sorry, yuck! read more

This store is one of the busiest Food Lion stores in the state. Good selection of food and good prices. During the summer season, they get you through the checkout line quickly. But, the management needs work on the store's cleanliness and the parking lot too. I like the store, but it needs updating. read more

Checkout Staff here is very friendly and helpful, deli could use some better personality but after seeing the rude level of customers that visit this location I am happy they have not killed someone yet. Wife sent me to pick up some sliced ham, roast beef and turkey from the deli at this location. I was helped by a redheaded lady whom I believe her name was Donna. She had a great attitude and a friendly smile. Appeared to be genuinely interested in helping the customers and answering any questions I had. I cannot stand how crowded this location is during the summer. Also, the prices are high. Otherwise, the store is clean, the staff is relatively friendly (about as friendly as high school students standing in one spot and dealing with customers all day can be), and the produce is always fresher than other places' produce, like the commissary or wal-mart. read more
