Nasty nasty nasty! This place sold me rotted chicken! I bought 6 pounds of chicken leg meat and went straight and put it in the freezer. A few days later I thawed out one of the bags and you would not believe the STINK that came out of there. The chicken was a purplish/grayish color. I decided to thaw the second bag and same thing! Don't waste your time and money here. This is a health risk. They think just because they're in a low socioeconomic area they can get away with selling us low quality foods! This review is based on the last time I was here I asked the butcher to cut my meat thinner and he said they don't do that there when the machine was right behind him I'm not sure if maybe they aren't properly trained or what? Also when it was time to be rung out the register was open but no cashier was there I still put my stuff down and waited about 10 min for someone to ring me out it was a MANAGER and he was so rude not even a thank you for waiting or a greeting , as he was finishing up other me a couple came to pay and since their grocery cart was full he yelled at them to pay elsewhere. This Food 4 Less is always packed and never enough cashiers. Don't get me started with the food itself you have to watch out in selecting vegetables/fruit because most of the time they're rotted or about to rot. The meat department sometimes the butchers have an attitude. One occasion I asked to get the meat bag replaced because it had a hole, I told the butcher guy to replace it with fresh meat in a new bag. He wasn't being nice with my request he was being sarcastic. If it wasn't the nearest supermarket I wouldn't be going here. read more

I went to this location 'cause at the time it was convenient. I went to the meat dept. to ask for 1lb. Of ground beef. On the glass counter they have a sign that reads "If you can't find your cut, just talk to our butchers" Well I wanted to buy the thin cut beef but I wanted it cut fajita style. The butcher said "Oh, we don't do that here." So what does the sign mean then? I'm befuddled now. read more

They have fair prices, good deals on certain items, and you can't beat those open late hours. As for my personal experience with the staff, well they are normal friendly, but there are some that go beyond what is expected and one is grateful for it. I was looking for a can opener and asked the security lady of possibly on which lane it could be and she got it for me while I was in the line. That was very nice of her. I hope that people don't abuse this information and start bothering her on where everything is, but yes that was unexpectedly generous of her. read more

Caught the lady decorating cakes shoving big pieces of chocolate in her mouth. Her glove straight touched her mouth and she still kept doing what she was doing. This location is pretty good. Their meat department always looks clean and well stocked. They have a big selection of meat and seafood to pick from. They also package cream and cheeses there too. Their produce is always cheap which is a plus. It can get really crowded on the 1st and 15th of every month for certain reasons so I stay away. Other than those days and holidays it's not a nightmare. Parking is never a problem here. read more

Just got out of this place I always go to food for less in the San Fernando valley and never had a problem but I came here for the first time thinking they have great service and when I get to the 15 items check out line the cashier Raul that has been working in this location since 1999 so his name badge informs customer has a really fucked up nasty ass attitude it took him 25 min to finish my transaction on 5 Fucking items seriously and still has the balls to ask me why I'm starring at him I'm 6 months pregnant not trying to go to a place that just give the worst customer service I'm not a fan of el Super but I guess I'll rather take my chances there read more

I don't know what management does to their employees, but they really don't want to be there. Today our cashier Elba practically crawled to check the price of a food item that didn't scan. That is, after she rejected my offer to go check myself. Then, we asked to purchase a bag to which she said she had to go get more since she was out. Upon returning, she tossed the bag my way, as my husband got his card ready to pay. There is a complete lack of customer service. Under no circumstance is it okay to toss a bag towards us that WE PAY FOR. I just don't understand why they're are so rude and unprofessional. read more

A women there named Martha and another young girl that works on the left hand side of the store in the express lane as cash registers are HORRIBLE! They are so rude ! They don't even make eye contact and don't even say how much the total is of the items you bought! Whenever I see the line is short but I see that Martha or that other young girl are available, I rather go to the long line and pay with some other cashier. read more

I am going to have to give this store a D-. Every time I go there seems to be an issue. The lines are always long, the parking is difficult, the selection is not extensive and it's hit and miss with the attitudes of the customer service representatives or cashiers as well as management of this establishment. So I go in today to pick up a handful of items. As an avid couponer I wanted to take advantage of a few deals that F4L had this week. Using coupon.com you can print up to 2 coupons per item with different numbers per coupon. Multiple computers will get you more than two. So I go in with my printouts in tow for use on some Chili's frozen entrees, tropicana box juices, Sara Lee snAcks and salsa. I hadn't cut the coupons so I'm tearing them from my printouts. As I'm walking a guy who appears to be a manager is following me throughout the store as if tearing coupons from a printout is a crime. I finally make it to the register and without attempting anything the cashier claims that the coupons won't work. I Kindly suggest to type in the number or scan with the gun or scan on the scanner slowly. She goes to another cashier who is pointing at me and shooting dirty looks. Then she goes to the manager. After 5 minutes she comes back and says we are not taking these coupons they look like copies. I told her no they came from coupons.com and you can see on the right hand side of a coupon the number that is unique to each print. I told her she didn't even try to scan them and that she could type in the number just as well. she rudely responds "do u want the stuff or not but I'm not taking your coupons" I respond that F4L accepts printable coupons as I use them every week. Not at this location but I do use them. So instead of arguing with her I let her cancel the items and go to the next closest F4L with the same coupons and without a problem I get every item on my list I don't know if they are simply anti coupons at this location or like most other stores and people in the walnut park, Huntington park, south gate and Downey cities they also be against people who are not Hispanic - i.e. blacks. So often as a non Hispanic I'm treated like a criminal and followed around in stores or refused privilege such as the use of coupons when I am in these cities. it's just ridiculous. I won't be going back to this location no time soon. read more

I have been to this food 4 less before, but only during the morning time and during the morning ut us honestly pretty good. Since I worked in the morning temporarily I decided come here during the night time around 9pm and it was HORRIBLE!!! only 1 line open, people are literally waiting over 30 minutes just to pay. I over heard a lady making a complaint and the employees response was that the manager was in lunch break. WTF!?! idk but I suggest you don't come here during the night time. read more

It is a dirty place. Lots of trash. Sometimes veggies on the floor and they pick them up and put them back on for people to buy. But it's okay if you are just going to get ice cream,water,or frozen foods. read more

This is the best place to get groceries around my area. The only bad thing about this food 4 less is that it shares it parking with all the other stores, so it can get really busy and won't be able to find parking. It gets really busy during the holidays (stay away) . The store is clean. It's cheap. The workers are friendly. It also has a red box inside. What more can you ask for. read more

About a week ago I called this place to ask if they had an item in stock. When I called they put me on hold for more than 20 minutes. I was patient enough to wait until they hung up on me. I called once again for a gentleman to tell me that they didn't have enough staff to do my request. It's was a waste of my time since I was already in a rush and very unprofessional.
