People are correct about Foodland having the fresh and best poke on the Island. The line is long, just be patient and your turn will come. It's not cheap, but 1 bowl is good for 2 people. Absolute fresh and best poke for me. The seasoning is on point, not too busy with toppings so you really will enjoy the fish. Highly recommend! They also have hot food section, spam musubi, chicken karage, bentos, etc. We picked up ube mochi, hawaiian sun juice drinks. Then we headed out to Kam beach to watch the beautiful Sunset. In all my research leading up to my trip to Maui, almost everyone mentioned Foodland as the place to get the best poke. I would never have thought a chain of supermarkets would sell some of the best poke. This particular location is located closest to the airport and it was one of our first stops before even making it to the hotel. Parking was easy and plentiful around the time we arrived. Coming from the Houston area, I am used to massive grocery stores, but this place was the complete opposite. It was tiny but had everything you need including alot of local goods. The most impressive thing to me and one of the main reasons I came was the seafood and poke selection. That part comes from Oki's Seafood Corner located inside the store. I'll review that separately. If poke isn't your thing, they also have quite the selection of hot items in their deli like different chicken, shrimp tempura, ribs, kalbi and the other reason I came.....spam musubi. We got our poke, musubi, and chicken karaage and went to the nearest beach to enjoy our finds. Everything we ate was delicious and was a great first meal in the Aloha state. I so would've hit this place up daily if my food list wasn't already long for Maui. I will be back! read more

10/10 fresh fish ! Came here for poke. This place was heavily so many options to choose from and the best part is you can get different options since it's sold by weight. They also have a box options which contains two proteins and two scoops of rice. The nice lady who helped us was very patient and explained the process! This is my review of the fish department. It is not owned by the supermarket itself so you pay them direct. They are the best source for local fish, the kind you see snorkeling around the island. Originally the place reeked if fish but they did some renovations so it is much nicer. Prices are great. If you want it cleaned let them know, they can also fillet it if you don't eat whole fish with rhe eye staring at you. Always fun to shop there and always tastes great. read more

This is near the airport. Easy and convenient access for poki right off the plane. They serve poki by itself or you can get it with rice. My family thinks it's too fishy for them but I think that's what fresh is. What do you think? Besides quick food to go, they are a grocery store with a variety of select things. Husband and I just finished road to Hana and stopped to get poke. The poke bowl ara was closed so we ended up buying some poke on the side to put onto two shrimp bowls. Got to the car started eating and realized both were past the best by time and we got them from this table with no refrigeration. Got a refund off the two shrimp bowls.. Definitely not the best Foodland on the island, including the poke. Actually, the poke section is not run by Foodland unlike other locations. The store has a bit of an outdated feel to it, clerks weren't too friendly (although it was a bit crowded), but good location right in Kahului and the shopping mall. read more

Hmmm, so you say you're on vacation and want to get something to go for the beach... Well consider food land. They have a multitude of fresh poke, sushi, hot entrees, sandwiches and everything that goes with it. All made fresh daily. We got four kinds of pokes to go and some chips and hit the beach. Quick, delicious and cheaper then going to a restaurant. Park for free, get in and out fast and hit the beach with a yummy picnic lunch. Prices are way cheaper than premium supermarkets too. WOW! Foodland has great poke at such an affordable price. The rice was mediocre but the poke was 10/10. I highly recommend trying a few different options because that way you get to test the different combinations out (something like shoyu /something creamy/ something spicy). Came back for the poke. Got two poke bowls that come with 2 types of poke and a scoop of rice ($12). Can't go wrong with choosing the poke that looks like it is about the run out. The salmon shoyu was good. The fresh tuna poke with sea beans was so-so. The kimchi poke was interesting! The fresh tuna shoyu poke was also good. The supermarket itself was decent, with a lot of fresh food and selection. I also picked some crab inari from the sushi section (a bit too cold), but very affordable. read more

This Foodland is located next to the Queen Ka'ahumanu Shopping Center and one of the main reasons I come here is that it's on my way home from work and isn't super out of my way. Though the grocery store is on the smaller side and the parking lot can often be a tight fit, I still can get in and out of the store fairly quickly. The store does a real good job of staffing their cash registers and keeping the flow of customers continually moving which I appreciate, especially after a long work day. The second reason I come here is for pork belly for samgyeopsal. They're the only place that I've found that cuts the pork belly thin enough. They do leave the skin on, so you'll have to cut that off, but otherwise, it's the perfect thickness for samgyeopsal! Now they just need to cut beef thin enough for chadolbaegi and I'll be in heaven! I do stop by for other things such as veggies, meat, & other Asian products since they have a decent selection, but that's usually only if I just need a handful of items. I think a lot of the things in the store can be found for MUCH cheaper elsewhere, so I tend to stick to no more than 5 items. They do have some really good deals every so often if you regularly skim their ads. They also have a bakery that makes fresh bread, mochi, brownies, and a lot of other baked treats. There's also Oki's Seafood Corner inside by the produce area that is a favorite among locals for their fresh poke. Overall, it's a good spot for basics & if you just need a few items. I don't recommend doing a full on grocery trip here. I always get the same things so it's 4 stars for me! read more

Love coming to this foodland when we're in town. We always receive excellent customer service, the workers in the floor always say hi. They have a nice selection of produce alyways fresh and clean. The deli has some key food choices they sell hot pastele that they bring in from oahu they also have pastele stew which is yummy. I don't mind this Foodland because of the convenience and its central location. My favorite thing about this Foodland is Oki's which I really, really love. Parking can be really nuts sometimes and the clientele there is a mix. I personally don't like going there at night by myself because there are some shady characters that frequent there but at least they have security. Foodland prices really vary. They have some great sales but I always check the ads for the other places like Safeway and Longs to get the best deals. At the end of the day, they markdown their deli items and salads etc. One time I got a gigantic container of somen salad that was like 90% off and the somen salad was still good. I think they might've just made too much and couldn't sell them all. They also mark down items like their yogurt and dairy but make sure you check the expiration dates on them because most times they are about to expire in the next few days. The aisles are pretty cramped which I don't like but customer service is always great. I don't recall ever having a bad experience with their employees. Check it out :) read more
