I was in desperate need for a massage yesterday. I called and they asked me to set up an appointment online so I could sign the covid waiver. It was very easy and I was able to get an appointment with Larry in the afternoon. When I got there they took my temperature. The spa was very clean and Larry was very friendly. The massage was heavenly. It was the perfect pressure unlike when I got one at a foot reflexology and the massage was a little painful since I was so tense. Larry was very sensitive to me not wanting to talk initially. However he was very friendly when I asked him questions. He was also good at knowing where my pressure points were particularly in my scalp. Also I was able to get a first time discount. We discovered this gem on one of our trips some years ago and make a point to come here every time we are in the area. Igor handpicks most capable therapists and lets them be themselves. With each massage we experience a different approach but all of the therapists do excellent job customizing the treatment to our needs. The only downside is that they have just 3 treatment rooms so despite their best efforts it's hard to schedule two last minute massages at the same time. read more

So they introduced me to their newest staff member Alfredo, and well, I have been back every week since April and sometimes twice a week. I get massages probably every 3 weeks and Wilmette is my go-to place! I've tried practically all the therapists and must say they all are really really good. Currently I book Manny a lot and he just does wonders in getting all my knots out without making me feel beat up. I judge a great massage if I fall asleep on the table---and here I almost always do. I like that the rooms are clean, comfortable, warm, and dimly lit which is very relaxing. They have a white noise machine which works great and of course the requisite spa music is a must! I've been to other salons that have great therapists but the place itself is uncomfortable and loud but Wilmette Massage has both great therapists and great atmosphere to get relaxing therapeutic massages. But really, this secret is just too good to keep. Wilmette Massage Center = AMAZING. I usually go to Margaret but I've also seen 2 other therapists and all, while different, have been great. The owner, Igor, returns calls on his personal cell phone after he has closed shop for the night and gone home. That's how I was able to schedule my first appointment. My therapist, Mihaela, was very communicative, always checking on the room temperature, intensity of pressure, and my comfort level. She's strong and gentle at the same time. Mihaela is great to talk to when you want to chat, but she will also leave you in peace if you just want to lie there and relax. The entire team is friendly, welcoming, and genuine. Maragret took me in, I informed her on areas that were giving me problems and she massaged everything but those areas. I didn't feel any better after the massage. She neglected the areas I wanted her to focus on and I didn't get the full massage I hoped for. I'm still in pain and don't fully feel like I got a thorough massage. Wilmette Massage Center is absolutely fantastic! I walked into Wilmette Massage Center seeking treatment for chronic shoulder pain, which had intensified during my pregnancy. The knowledgeable woman at the front desk suggested that I schedule a consultation with Igor, which I did. When I met with Igor, he carefully listened to my concerns and thoughtfully suggested treatment options. After my first massage session, I felt relief from the pain. After several weekly appointments, the debilitating pain I had experienced was gone! The massage sessions were very targeted, and I could tell that Igor really knew what he was doing (where to put pressure, how much pressure, etc.). He was extremely conscientious about eliciting my feedback, in order to provide the most effective treatment possible. While my shoulder does require massage maintenance, I have been absolutely thrilled to find a way to manage the pain without the use of medication. In addition to providing effective treatment for chronic pain, Igor and all of the therapists I encountered were extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive, helpful, modest, and kind. i have never felt compelled to write a yelp review. and clearly there isnt a need to re-assure people how great this place is, you need only read all the 5 star reviews. i have gone to WMC for 5 years and have always been 100% satisfied. however i did feel the need to share my most recent experience. i called WMC on short notice hoping to get a deep tissue massage. i was told there was a slot open in my desired time w/ 'Manny". i wont lie and say i didnt hesitate a bit, and i know that sounds awful. Manny is the single best therapist i have received massage from in 15 years. as i mentioned before i dont write reviews or heap false praise, but i assure you if you get a massage from Manny it will be one of the best of your life. read more
