My mom is a patient at this facility and she has witnessed how much the staff tries their best to strongly protect them from contracting COVID-19. She always calls to tell me how happy she is that she's in this facility. As a high-risk patient, she's always been so nervous at other facilities but Sierra View is top notch. As expected, there are many new rules put into place in order to maintain the safety of everyone. I do have to commend the staff as there are plenty of people who will argue and refuse to comply with even the most basic rules. Like I mentioned, my mom is a patient there and has heard some of the visitors cursing and yelling at nurses who are just trying to do their job and protect everyone from the virus. For example, my mom said that one of their rules is that for "end of life" patients, they are allowed visitors ...but only ONE at a time. Nurses try to explain that to families and unfortunately, some of the families just met them with rudeness and curse words. I definitely have to commend the nurses for keeping calm and restrained during that time. Overall, the facility is well maintained, clean and complies will necessary COVID safety precautions. The staff there was very attentive and always communicated with me. We worked with Priscilla, the social worker who helped find a placement for my father's next place, and she showed so much patience with all the difficulties of handling these decisions. She was quick to respond to concerns and communicated quickly. The nursing staff was extremely helpful and kind to both my parents. My father was emotional when he left because of the sweetness they showed him. The head nurse, Cynthia, always communicated with me, answered my texts, called me directly if my father needed to hear a familiar voice, and a pleasure to communicate with her. This decision to place your loved one in a skilled nursing facility is not an easy one, but when you put them in a place that feels supported and you know they are cared for, it helps ease the anxiety of not having them home with you. Michael at the Front desk always welcoming, he went out of his way to help me get the MLB app on the tv in my fathers semi private room to watch the Dodgers. My father and his roommate felt a sense of normalcy being able to watch the Dodgers even while being in the facility. Thank you. The case manager Adrianne at West Haven, she was a dynamo at managing all of activity of my father entering, during his stay and departing the facility. A true compliment to the team at West Haven. I go everyday to see him, I bring him his LATimes News Paper and it's nice because the facility is only a few blocks from our home. Everyone who works there is Fantastic & Amazing. They know my Brother by name. It's sad to see some of the bad reviews online. I have seen with my own eyes "Everyday" when I go there. This Facility is great. We Thank God for each person that works there. They show love, compassion & outstanding quility of care for everyone who lives there. Multiple times we found him sitting for hours in a diaper soaked with urine, and sometimes with feces as well. His clothes would also be soiled, and staff often would not change him until a family member specifically told them to. Almost every time I visited, the hallway floor where his room was located smelled strongly like feces as soon as I got off the elevator. I hoped it was not coming from him, but as I got closer to his room, the smell would get worse and it often was him left unchanged. No patient should be left like that for hours. Many patients were left in bed all day everyday with little to no activity or engagement. Our experience was heartbreaking and I would not recommend this facility based on how my loved one was cared for.

Almost everyone, even people in different stations, know my father by name. They staff will smile, greet you, and tend to your request quickly. They have a great team of healers including PT, OT, Speech therapy. And the administration is friendly as well. They are proactive and patient. The facility is clean and organized. Though the building is old and dated, you can see the effort they put in to keep it as comfortable as possible. Parking lot is always full weekdays. Weekends are much better, less staff at the facility, so more time for visitations.

Patients are there to recover and regain their mobility, right? But they would rather keep them confined to their beds or wheelchairs. Any questions are met with the same frustrating response of "I don't know." Our loved one left the facility after 6 weeks and still unable to walk independently. Yet, after only 2 weeks at home with minimal physical therapy, ( 3 times a week) he is now walking without any assistance. Stay away from this facility!
