I started with Jennifer recently in looks for an EMDR specialized therapist that took my insurance. Her website was very enticing and seemed to be a good fit with how she advertised herself. I began using her services and quickly I found out she was not a good fit. I wanted to give her some time to see if the rapport would build. I am someone who does not have a set schedule and she highly pushed for a weekly appointment. I also work with another therapist who does not take my insurance but absolutely have seen improvement and help with that one, so I was dividing time between the two of them. I am also in the travel industry and do NOT have a set schedule so my schedule changes weekly; some weeks are busier than others. I told her weekly would not work with me, and bi weekly would be best. She canceled the next appointment and I would continue with the following week. The following week ended up I needed to travel and needed to cancel that appointment as well. She makes you sign a cancellation policy which states cancellations you pay out of pocket, which is standard if you are cancelling 24 hours or less. I canceled my appointment 3 days prior with ample time within policy guidelines. I immediately got an email for rescheduling and I stated I would not be able to reschedule due to overloaded schedule. She then proceeded to tell me that since I cancelled I would have to pay out of pocket 140$ since she gave me a "free bee" cancellation already. Again she did not, that is when I told her I was switching to bi weekly because I did not want to continue weekly with her. I truly believe she is in this profession for self gain and not to truly help others. In 15 years I have never had such an absurd canceling process like it is a blood oath to go to a therapist that you reach out to for help. Do yourself a favor, unless you want to be burdened and bound to this therapist. Seek someone who truly wants to help and not find a way to take your money at any means possible. If you are seeking someone's services, you shouldn't be forced to. If you seek a hair stylist and you cancel an appointment within respectable amount of time, do they force you to go and get their services? No. I felt like I was in another forceful trapped relationship with my therapist. It's a NO for me.

I used to see Dr. Castellanos when I was a kid with my mom, roughly between the ages of…read more12-15(2004-2007). Now as an adult I've realized how horrendous of a doctor he was. Our family eventually stopped seeing him after 3 years of being under his care. We went to him because it was hard to find doctors who spoke Spanish in our area at the time. I'll start with the worst. My mom used to be really concerned for her health. Over time we realized her concerns were signs of what she's now developed, diverticulitis and other digestive issues. She often came in with pain and explained her concerns. Dr. Castellanos would tell my mom that she was fine and to take ibuprofen. Any time she came in it was the same thing even though her symptoms progressed - continue to take ibuprofen. Eventually she told my mom she was too worried and was a bother. We finally stopped going to see him when she used the restroom and found blood in her stool. She developed ulcers in her throat and stomach that were very painful when eating. After we stopped going to see him we found out all of her symptoms were the beginning of diverticulitis. In 2009 she ended up going to the ER because she was heavily bleeding when she used the bathroom. A diverticula had burst open and it was discovered she has 3 total that had developed. She was taken to emergency surgery. She's suffered through diverticulitis ever since with multiple ER visits. Dr. Castellanos was negligent as a doctor when presented with symptoms. He could have referred her to a gastroenterologist but never did. We had HMO at the time and eventually switched to PPO but it was after dealing with him. For my own case, I developed gastro issues around 12 and realized I had sensitivity to certain foods that lead to a lot of gas and odd noises in my intestines. I felt shy about it as a kid but was worried because I didn't want to sit in class having those noises come from my intestines because well... it was awkward. My side of the classroom could hear my gas issues and I didn't understand what was causing it. When I told him he blew me off and told me to eat more fiber. I didn't bother more about it or ask because I was too ashamed to ask more. Years later I realized I had food sensitivities and that I need to be careful to avoid dairy. All of this to say - I would absolutely NEVER recommend anyone to see Dr Castallanos. My mom could have sued him for negligence but decided not to. Seeing him still in practice now and talking to family about health made me 20 years later have to go back to write this.

I can't say enough good things about GRC. I just completed their 90 day IOP/PHP program and feel like I've been given a new life. I chose this practice because it presents itself as a Christian counseling practice, and I expected that values such as compassion, grace, and understanding would be reflected not only in therapy but also in the way patients are treated by the office. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. While I genuinely like my therapist and appreciate the care she provides during our sessions, my interactions with the billing department and office administration have been consistently stressful. I've experienced insurance and billing issues that disrupted my continuity of care, and I was even asked to accept responsibility for claims if my insurance provider failed to pay before they would continue seeing me. Instead of feeling supported, I often felt like I had to fight just to receive care. Most recently, I canceled a 5:00 p.m. appointment that same morning and was charged a $70 missed appointment fee. What made this especially difficult was that my therapist had previously canceled appointments on me, and I extended understanding because I know unexpected situations happen. I hoped that same grace would be extended to me, but instead I was met with a rigid policy and no consideration of the circumstances. Throughout my experience, the communication from the billing office has felt impersonal and lacking in empathy. When I raised concerns, I did not feel heard or that there was any willingness to consider the individual circumstances of a patient. From my perspective, the policies felt more important than the people they affect. My disappointment is not with my therapist but with the way the practice is managed. I had hoped the owner would take patient concerns seriously and make changes to improve how the billing department communicates with and treats people. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Mental health treatment should help reduce stress, not add to it. I hope this feedback encourages the practice to reflect on how patients are treated outside the therapy room, because administrative interactions are an important part of the overall care experience.
