It is difficult when someone you love is hindered by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and chaos's ensues because you don't know where to go or how to handle, but I'll say Silverado has the knowledge and experience to put us all at ease. Liz and Veronica are more than lifesavers in this sea of confusion regarding memory loss. I am blessed daily knowing they care for my mother in law. Only 5 stars because that is the top otherwise it would be 10! I'd be remiss if I did not give a shout to the other staff members Dorothy, arianna and elyssa. Not least our night nurse Glinny who is fabulous. With all this care you can't afford not to be in the best hands if this is where you find yourself in life now!!

I used to work here and couldn't pull through…read moreunfortunately, me and another friend of mine worked here and the work environment was terrible. It was super toxic, one of the worst job experiences we've ever experienced! There was terrible communication, no teamwork, drama involved, and just no good progress of any change to better the work environment. I've spoke out multiple times to the supervisors about the situation but they don't do anything because there is favoritism involved. There is no enforced work safety, especially when doing our "middle time", it's unrealistic and unreasonable to have one person watching many of the residents when violence occurs because how are we going to provide security and safety while someone else may get hurt or hurt someone else if there is no extra help. It's not fair. The other caregivers are no where to be found or in the nurses station hanging out in there not doing their job to make sure the environment is secure and safe. The residents are very nice and sweet people it's just the people that work there. I've noticed the visitors point out their concerns for their family and the caregivers always talk negative not taking advantage of helping the situation. I also don't appreciate seeing how one of the caregivers tries to be sneaky smoking while working which is Brian. It's completely inappropriate especially how the residents may not be in the best of health. I'll miss working with Patty she is so sweet I just hated how Brian talked bad about her, she always was on top of communicating and teamwork while everyone else said to not help her. Maria and Eden the supervisors that work there need to do better with the work environment and for the safety of the employees and residents!!

Do NOT send your loved ones here…read more My family member spent 6 weeks in this facility. She came in with an infection that was not treated through its course; she finished her course of antibiotics, but her symptoms returned shortly afterward. She got weaker and weaker, and complained of abdominal pain. The staff did nothing; one nurse even had the gall to tell me there was nothing to do for stomach pain. I had to ask them to take blood and stool samples, and when the results finally came back positive for C Diff, I learned they had not even started her on a course of antibiotics despite having the results in hand! In that moment, I insisted that they transfer her to an ER immediately that night; she was so weak she could no longer stand or use her arms and hands. I regret so much not taking this action sooner; it's unbelievable to think you can't trust medical professionals to take basic care of your loved one. Prior to that, my family member reported that the folks leading her physical therapy appointments were often on their phones, and disengaged with her care. The food is also the worst of the 5-6 hospitals and facilities my family member stayed at in the area. The staff is largely unresponsive. The social worker at the time (Joy, winter 2025) set up a good informational meeting with the care team when my family member was first admitted; then she promptly disappeared. She would not return phone calls; she was always "in meetings". When I finally would connect with her, she would promise to stop by to visit my family member to communicate with her. Days and days would go by, no visit, no returned phone call. Absolutely unprofessional and shameful. Search previous low-star reviews, and you will see a pattern. Re the care my family member received: she was in such bad shape when she left Glendora Canyon and went to the ER (colitis, sepsis, then she had a stroke) that she spent 2 weeks in the ICU, and then another month recovering in a hospital. Glendora Canyon, her health was in your hands and you deeply failed her. SHE ALMOST DIED in your facility. And finally, adding insult to injury, when my family member was taken by ambulance to an ER, they lost her personal items that were in her room. I tried in vain to find them; they first gave me two bags of someone else's clothing and items, and then tried to push someone's else items on me. At the hospital my family member went to, I met family members of a different Glendora Canyon TCU patient who had his phone and iPad go missing when he was also transferred to a hospital, also for not being cared for adequately at Glendora Canyon. So this is a theme. Beware. Terrible establishment; do not send your loved ones here!!

Mental Health and The quality of the care I receive every day is first and foremost compassionate…read moreand kind. I never feel rushed or hurried. My therapist (Paula) is one in a million no matter what I bring into group with me she is comforting and has a rare instinctive nature to help people bring their issues into the open, and then helps them heal. There are a multi of reasons that Aurora works and it starts with support staff one of them (Luis) runs the cafeteria and having eaten there more than a few times and let me tell you he runs it like a well oiled machine. There's not enough space to mention everyone that makes Aurora the best mental health facility but I would be remiss to not mention a few people who spend their lives helping their peers. LeeAnn, Mati, and Lydia are always near if anyone needs anything from checking us in every morning to helping out in the cafeteria making sure everyone gets help to their table. That may not seem like much but these women are trained professionals they have other important responsibilities at Aurora but they make time to help out and in other areas. Another person I'd like to mention is our RN Gigi she is on top of everything from making sure everyone stays healthy and happy I don't know what it is but whenever I see her I just start thinking of how much she loves her job. There are counselors who are so supportive, Jenn is one of the people who help us talk through our problems James is another who helps to make Aurora a safe space I know I'm rambling on but this place these people do so much for so many with little to no recognition. I can sum this up by saying unequivocally if not for Aurora Charter Oak I would not be here now. Please don't be afraid if you need help call them if they can help me they can help you too.

There's no one to talk to and the outside patio only has walls surrounded. No space for fresh air. The staff are rude too. Maybe the men's section are more friendly, I don't know. When I talk to the ladies they look at me with disgust. The med lady told me "They don't like you and don't want to talk to you." I was having insomnia and can't sleep. They told me to take the mattress by myself and move it to the activity area. I keep telling them I cannot sleep even though they keep on telling me to sleep. Do I look like it's in my control?? They don't care about the patients there. I don't ever want to come back here ever again.
