I usually find one or two organic items each time to make the trip worthwhile. Parking is always a problem in this center. Some interesting snacks and food items from Middle East and Europe. The biggest problem is the cashiers, rude. The last two visits, the cashier had to catch up with the person in front of me. Sensing that I was impatient they slow walked every item. I did my best to hide any impatience. Grab one item, chat with customer, enter code in register, chat with customer, slow move the item to side, chat with customer, look at me, scowl, chat with customer, laugh, speak more in Spanish, both cashier and customer look at me, scowl, rest hand on next item, chat, enter code or weigh, chat, giggle, ..... on and on Once again I need to say that I did my best to not act impatient. For selfish reasons, I'd like to keep this place a hidden gem, but they deserve many praises. Very fresh, affordable produce. Every time I shop here, including just recently, I like to play a game of "how much would this all cost at Whole Foods vs. how much will it cost here?" I don't know why this place is so popular. A lot of items just aren't that cheap, and often times the cheap items are not good quality....overall, it's just an average place in terms of quality. The selection is pretty wide though (sugar cane stalks anyone?) The place also feels a little disorganized and a tad bit sloppy, but I guess it's find for a local product market. I'd rather get my fruit at Trader Joe's or barring that, Safeway. But I can't totally discount this place, I saw some Chinese grandmas here so whatever veggies they were buying must have been a good deal. read more

I am super ecstatic about this Produce stand. Why? Let me tell ya. It is because, no lies, they have the freshest produce ever! I hate going to markets and they charge you a lot for spoiled produce. It is a pet peeve of mine. Their prices are very reasonable for how fresh everything is. Now this part is my negative thoughts and it has nothing to do with the store, it has to deal with the shopping center. Just be warned that by driving into this parking lot, you are accepting the fact that you are entering a crazy danger zone. The layout of the parking lot is all messed up. Overall - best prices for produce - just like anywhere else, you must check what you are buying but have to say, most everything I have purchased has been fresh and lasted just as long as anywhere else. Some say it is fresher as they cut out out the middleman and have produce out for sale quicker - I do think it is better than my local safeway for sure! The staff is friendly and the lines move fast however it can get really really busy but just stay the course and you won't be disappointed. I like the nice sturdy bags they have to bag produce but I recommend bringing your own shopping bag to take home. I always end up with 3-4 huge bags of products for $25 - $30 each time which is fantastic! read more

This place is great. I can't say enough good things about it, and I frequently complement the friendly workers on their success. It's not uncommon to be offered free samples by the employees as you are browsing their diverse section of fruits, vegetables, and everything else in between. The selection is often very fresh and they offer more affordable prices than I have seen on produce in years. Honey Crisp apples is all I've got to say. Mmm, those are the best apples and they've got them at a reasonable price. Anyone who knows apples knows those are the pricier apples, at Foothill Produce they offer these at an acceptable price. Everything in this store is reasonable priced. My girlfriend and I live within walking distance, so it is not uncommon for us to visit Foothill Produce once or twice a week, leaving with two canvas bags filled to the brim with veggies, fruit, cheeses, eggs, etc. for a little over $20. You can't beat that! If you can, let me know. The only slightly negative thing I can say is that on my last few visits the tomatoes were, in some instances, bad or about to go bad. I simply had to remove the top crate of tomatoes and pick from the lower crates which had yet to have been displayed. If you ever notice anything like this, don't hesitate to ask for assistance or act yourself and find the fresh goods. They've got them. Give this place a chance, it's great and worth the trip to the area. The place is family owned and operated (friends too). Great produce at a very reasonable price. The fruits and veggies are beautifully fresh. The prices are very attractive. Friendly staff. This store has many different types of tasty grapes, apples, pearls, plums, tomatoes, and eggplants. I can also find out all kinds of yam: red yam, yellow yam, Japanese yam, even purple yam. The store is kinda small, but definitely not as crowded as some Asian grocery stores such as Marina seafood, Ranch 99, etc. Parking is not that easy over weekends, but so far I can always find parking space there with minor effort. read more

I have been shopped here for sometime already, but recently noticed the service quality went down. Fruit is not as fresh as before, sometime is it difficult to pick out few good fruits out of one box. And worst part, they start treating customer like a liar with no respect. They put fruit in different box with different price due to the size, I picked the few bigger fruits in the smaller box, when at check out, they demand me to pay higher price, I explain to them I pick the fruits from the smaller box, but they just think I am an liar. I hesitated to review Foothill Produce for the fear of inviting even bigger crowds (messing up with the goodness of the place), but couldn't keep quiet any more, for it wouldn't be fair to just keep it to myself (smiley). Zero Star deserves for their bad quality of produce. Lychees were all rotten when I opened every single one of them - fruit meat supposed to be white but they were all turned to brown. how could you sell such condition of fruit to customer? Health dept. and BBB would be involved if people know nothing about Lychees and ate them right away and got sick... transaction of $1.97 had been disputed through credit card company electronically because not even bother to communicate with this merchant. Another beet herring salad I didn't purchase when the staff washed the scoop in front of me but it was not wiped dry by a paper towel... she wanted to use it directly and this kind of less hygienic behavior really turned me off to come back to this place again...never! read more

Yep! I am going FIVE star on this place and I hesitated yelping about it because I'd rather keep it my little secret but this place is pretty well known now and it RULES! CHEAP prices for GREAT produce, not to mention they have a huge selection of stuff you can't always find. They also have a great cheese selection as well as meat and a sweets case in the back that is still relatively new. The people that work there have always been really fast and really friendly. The lines get big but they get you in and get you our fast and the prices are well below what you would pay at SAFEWAY or any of those mainstream grocery stores but freshier and better! I've been coming to this place for years because of the variety of vegetables, fruit and best prices in the area. I give 5 stars to the hard working shelves stockers. However, 1 star for customer service and over -charging. The store has movable pricebcards and a cashier claims that customers move the cards around, therefore displaying wrong prices. Every visit I get over-charged and when pointing a wrong price to the cashier, his response is very rude. Store management needs to implement fixed price stickers to prevent over-charging customers. read more

I like Felipe's Market concept which tries to replicate the outdoor /local European market places. They have a great selection of European specialty foods at good prices. I go there weekly for my Straus's organic milk. These are the reasons I don't give it a high rating. Fresh? I can go there at the beginning of the week and see stacks of boxed produce in the entrance of the store. The boxes do not appear to get any lower. I go back a couple of days later and the same boxes are still there. Meanwhile you have multiple people who appear that they are stocking product. Always getting in the way of an already crowded space. That's the appearance, and the proof of the freshness comes in the purchase of the product. Produce does not last long which tells me it's been around a while. My wife and I like to shop farmer's markets, and the produce lasts a lot longer. Store experience. Small! I don't have the patience to take in a cart. You have customers with carts and store personnel rushing to do something. It's like going to Costco and you have to dodge the floor sweeper or forklift. Don't they do all that at night? Prices: They price most of the produce by the pound, but good luck finding a scale. I have done price comparisons with other stores and you can save money on a few things. Safety and cleanliness: A very negative review here. How many times do I have to see produce fall to the ground and picked up or left there for someone else to pickup and put back in the pile ! I have to watch myself extra when I enter and shop because of the grime on the floor. My first choice to buy fresh fruits and vegetables would be the farmer's market. But if I can't get to the farmer's markets I would prefer a Sprouts or Whole Foods. read more

This is one of the best places in the Cupertino area to get very reasonably priced groceries and fresh produce. They have so many different types of produce and grocery items, from Spanish foods to Persian brands. Foothill Produce and its sister locations truly cater to the entire community given their wide offerings. They also have a great deli and make delicious sandwiches. The sandwiches are not cheap but good quality, and I would get them once in a while when I worked at the bank in this plaza. You can buy bags full of groceries here and you will struggle to pay more than $50. We bought produce and ingredients for a 40 person dinner party from here for just under $100. The biggest issue I have with is are that it is so jam packed with good stuff, it's hard to move around!!!! Even considering that they offer smaller shopping carts to free up the aisle spaces, there's still almost no way to move around the store easily when it gets busy. It's a claustrophobic nightmare. Moreover, they pack the fruits and produce so high that the bottom of the piles are often rotten and attract a large number of flies to the store, which is not very appetizing since this is in direct proximity to the deli area. In any case, I always recommend this store for your basic grocery and produce needs if you're looking for quality basic ingredients for low prices. read more

I wandered in here searching for some lemongrass ... not thinking I'd have much luck ... and surprisingly found a whole crate of the stuff pretty quickly. They have excellent selection, and good prices, and seem to carry a little bit ( or a lot ) of just about everything. Foothill produce is the kind of place you go to get local, inexpensive produce. It's not fancy or even a nice place. It's a bit cramped with piles and piles of items. It kind of reminds me of shopping in Chinatown and if you come with no expectations, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you come here expecting to walk into a produce palace with butlers and people to hand you a lemonade when you walk in, this is not your spot. This joint has produce spilling out in front and down the sidewalk. I bought two small containers of blueberries for $0.79 each. WOW. Where I'm from, those things are like $3+. There was a 2.5 pound bag of Kale for a couple dollars. Where I'm from, half of that costs $3. As you can tell, their prices are amazing. Other items in the store include: canned goods, bread, cheese, chocolate, etc. It's not strictly a produce place. I would definitely recommend it for shoppers who are not faint of heart or their nose stuck too far up in the air. read more

The store is pretty messy, nothing looks very fresh,and there are absolutely no samples of their fruit. I pretty much refuse to buy fruit i can't sample, I've wasted too much fruit that way. Hello there are flies everywhere. There actually isn't much savings here compared to trader joe's especially when the cashiers ring up the wrong type of fruit frequently. Foothill Produce seems to be crowded all the time, which leaves me wondering what's wrong with people these days. Did they all get knocked on their heads as a baby? When I bought some "produce" from this place, I brought it home and threw it out the next day because it went bad in under 24 hours. I should have known better because I say stacks of flats of moldy tomatoes in a side room. Sure, the prices are very low, but that doesn't mean they are good prices when factoring in the quality (or lack-there-of) of the merchandise that you get. I simply cannot rate this place less than 5 stars despite how bad the parking is or how hard it is to move around in this place at any given time of the day. Where the hell else can you go buy TWO GIANT BAGS of produce (at least half of it ORGANIC) for $25?? Let me answer that for you...nowhere. Dude...I picked up a 5 pound butternut squash for 81 cents. That's just ridiculous. I got a BIG container of organic blueberries for $2.99. Organic red lettuce for $1.50 (when it's in season). They also tend to mark stuff down when it's threatening to go bad. I buy it, pour it in a baggie and stick it in the freezer. Done. I'm here at least twice a week, so I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. I have the whole parking/shopping thing figured out. I'm able to park against the island by Chevron, go shopping with a BASKET (never a cart people, come on now, shop smarter, not harder), in and out in 30 minutes...then back in the traffic on 85 South @4:30...yayyyyy. Words to the wise: 1. Use a basket...for the love of all things holy, USE A BASKET, not a cart. Never a cart. 2. Go EARLY. Like...before noon. 2pm at the latest. 3. If you're going to park out front, be prepared to do battle. 4. Eat more veggies. 5. This place has a LOT more than just veggies! I love this store because they have amazing prices on produce. However this review is about an experience I had in the deli section: Waited 20 minutes in the deli line to get a tuna sandwich, only to find out that they didn't have tuna that day. So I changed my order to the edamame wrap and was told they didn't have edamame either. Changed my order for the third time to the mediterranean wrap, which he also didn't have the ingredients to make. I asked if they had any vegetarian sandwiches or wraps and the man replied "no," even though there were 3 listed on the menu. I left and so did the another vegetarian woman in line behind me. Rob and I have been coming to this produce place all the way from Saratoga for years. They have quite a good selection of exotic and local fruits and vegetables which is less expensive than Whole Foods and some other produce stores. Need I say they carry organic products, as well? Although they do have to improve their customer service, it's overall a good place to shop. I also would like to give a shout out about the deli counter person, (Jay) knowledgeable and a "life saver". Took care of me when I was having a low blood sugar at the time I was shopping. Before going into TJ's, I stopped in and bought a whole slew of fruits and veggies. They had some fantastic prices - fuji apples $1.09/lb, russet potatoes $0.59/lb, and navel oranges $0.59/lb.
