29JUN2026: I've been paying attention to various (internet) doctors/therapists making recommendations about the importance of consuming green bananas At brekkie as a means of helping my quads/aged-out body recover from the continuing deterioration of my 69+ year-old bones/muscles. So, besides a coffee respite on historic Murphy/Evelyn streets, I now had a reliable source for a green/mineral-rich banana that was more carb than sugar. This busy market certainly had the green bananas I needed (its maturation into more sugar was now stopped because my much better half peeked and froze them); the highly efficient clerks steadily checked out customers, all of whom patiently waited for our turn. I was tempted by other fresh fruits/veggies/other foodstuffs, but we gave a limited amount of space available in our tiny temporary address/fridge. A very grocery store. This is my second visit. This is one of the place to get great price for grocery. The veggie and fruit are a bargain. This week it has box of 3 lbs grape for 1.99. Other grape offer is .99 per lbs. They are sweet. Theree are many other fruits on sale too. Althea also has veggie at good price. As it very busy and not that much space, sometimes it a bit challenge to walk around when a shopper put the shopping cart and stand in front of it. Other stuff to pay attention is when you buy the fruit in container as some might have spoiled. The worker quite diligently sort out the fruit and throw away the bad one. You still have to pay attention. There are plenty parking but fill up as there is other grocery store and restaurant in the same area. read more

We were just planning to visit Apni Mandi next door after an Indian dinner when we stumbled into this hidden gem. It has a lot of imported food from around the world including Russia, Ukraine, central/eastern Europe, the Middle East, etc. There is also a produce section that is quite affordably priced (though for vegetables that exist in Indian cooking like onions or potatoes, they will most likely be cheaper next door). read more

I had no idea such a gem of a grocery store existed till now. The prices here are the best. You got a select amount of fruits and veggies that not only taste good but are affordable. It beats out all the places I get my groceries from including SF Chinatown. Mind blown. No more riding trams just to buy fresh food. Although for this joint, it's along the lines of a bus stop so for my trips, I found myself a nice pit stop. They have some cool drinks where you can grab and go. The people who work here are very nice. Unfortunately like others, no Felipe. Ouch! Better luck next time. This reminds me of those cute stores I have heard of in Brooklyn, NY where it's family owned. You also get some Russian and European food and drink too. This my go-to place for produce in my grocery store rotation. I come here almost every weekend because their prices are very affordable and the produce is great and seasonal. So you won't always find everything but (in my opinion) that's better than eating a GMO'd out fruit that is not supposed to grow all year long. And just a heads up, the produce tends to be at peak ripeness at the time of sale. I still really like this spot. Its very busy and constantly being restocked. Shelves are never empty. The aisles are tiny and you can easily get stuck behind a bunch of people. But just have a little patience and kindness and it won't be a problem. read more

A friend introduced me to this store in Sunnyvale and its now my top pick for produce! A sidewalk full of organic veggies and fruit at reasonable prices and a huge variety! At times the produce is at peak ripeness, so you have to plan your quantities accordingly. But hey, at least that tells me its real! They have a grocery section indoors that has an eclectic selection of Middle Eastern and European grocery items. They also stock the Marianne's ice-cream and Strauss Creamery products should you feel like splurging. This is part of a strip mall with Apni Mandi and Master Butcher, so its a great way to get all my groceries done in one spot. It does get extremely busy and congested on weekends, and the parking lot is crazy, but I variety of the seasonal produce keeps me coming back for more! read more

I started coming here a lot more recently and am not sure why I didn't before! It may not be the store to go to for everything you need to buy, but if you're looking for produce, Felipe's is a great place. The produce is so cheap!! Especially if you're buying something that is at the height of its season, it's kind of crazy how cheap it is - and good quality too. Sometimes things can be at their ripeness, so you have to be a little careful, but I just think that shows that you're getting REAL food. Beyond the produce, they have a bunch of imported groceries that are pretty fun and seemingly random to be found here. Lots of good European stuff, Israeli stuff, and more. You may want to time your visit to not be here at a peak time - the store is small and the parking lot at this shopping center is kind of a mess. But it's worth it for the great produce at such cheap prices. read more

I absolutely hate this place. That fat guy--he's abusive and has a terrible attitude. That big guy has been working here for well over a decade, and the longer he stays, the worse he gets. I only stopped by because I was heading to CVS anyway; I just popped into this store to grab a few things. I tried to pay using contactless credit card payment, but--not for the first time--he started screaming insults at me. It was truly awful and incredibly rude. What could possibly be the problem? With a payment terminal that advanced, there is absolutely no excuse for his behavior--unless he's just trying to project his own insecurities by verbally abusing others. He gets paid a salary to mistreat people! On top of that, the merchandise isn't cheap, you can't return anything, and the stock is incredibly old--rotten and moldy. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Sometimes, the staff even carry knives and verbally abuse customers. Furthermore, the fruit they sell is completely covered in mold. Eating that stuff could give you cancer--and then you'd have to spend even more money just to pay for your medical treatment. You'd be much better off shopping at Walmart, Safeway, or pretty much anywhere else. The food there is fresher and has a longer shelf life. Plus, this place seems to be hiking up their prices lately, even though the actual cost of the goods hasn't changed. If you really feel compelled to shop at this chain, you're better off going to the Cupertino location. It's owned by the same people, but the staff there are much kinder and don't try to rip you off like they do at this branch. That's it--I've had enough. I am absolutely disgusted and feel completely unsafe. I've been verbally assaulted by the cashier, intimidated by the menacing demeanor of the guy stocking shelves (who was carrying a knife), and I have no doubt that physical violence would be next if I were foolish enough to return. So Felipe's is right next door to Apni Mandi where I often stop for their delicious hot chai and snacks, but I love the varieties of produce and reasonable prices @ Felipe's. The girlfriend likes coming here for the manager's specials and sometimes these sales are pretty phenomenal like 1 time she scored on Strauss Ice Cream and European style yogurt. I am impressed by the selection of fresh fruits/vegetables, sauces, pasta and even some popular Chinese brands commonly found in our homes. I stopped in yesterday to grab milk on my way home because Felipe's is right next door to my fitness class and I love to support small businesses. However, I was disappointed in my experience here. They only carry Clover brand milk, and the only nonfat 1-gallon option was $7.99. An outrageously high price. They carry Alexandre's milk too which is a rare treat for me, so I grabbed a quart of chocolate for $3.99. Again, overpriced. The worst part is: that chocolate milk expires in 2 days, but I just had a mouthful of surprisingly sour milk today meaning it's already gone bad. I bought it just yesterday. The market is small and crowded, everything is overpriced, and now I don't trust that they properly store their products. I'll avoid it from now on. read more

Please do not sleep on Felipe's Market! Their produce variety is amazing. I've been coming here over the years whenever I get my car serviced at Honda. Today they had a shipment arrive and they were fully stocked. Cherries so fresh and tasty at $1.69 a pound! Wish I got more. Green onions per bag $1.99! Check the photo! There's no point in going through everything... just go. I don't want to hype it up and let you down... but I think this place is a gem. It was packed today. Like they knew it was shipment day lol. A cool mom and pop grocery store. You can't come here expecting big box store cleanliness, organization, and prices. It's a scrappy grocery store. The aisles are crowded full of various offerings. And boy are those offerings great prices too sometimes. The quality can be hit or miss, so definitely check your produce before you buy. The prices can be super low, but typically those produce would be close to expiration date or getting questionable :) I started coming here for cheap veggies and fruits after a co-worker introduced me. Some of my favorite deals have been super cheap tomatoes (box of grape/cherry tomatoes for under 99cents, onions for under 40cents/lb, bags of $1 produce, etc). You can also get bulk salad greens here for reasonable prices and they're usually pretty fresh! I also like getting herbs like basil here as well for usually under $2 for a big handful. No way I was going into that death trap with the community spread of the coronavirus already throughout Santa Clara county, then the epicenter of the coronavirus in CA, with 138 cases of covid19 July 16, 2020, 11am: staff and customers must wear masks at all times, and social distancing between customers standing in the check out stand . Fruits for sale are outside. Some bargains: iceberg lettuce 3 for $0.99, red flame grapes $0.69 per lb. , d'anjou pears $0.49 per lb., bing red cherries $2.99 per lb. Only have to go inside to pay for the items at the checkout stand. Some things I don't get here: peaches and nectarines are not ripe, and ripened fruit available at King's Seafood Market 1.5 miles east on El Camino Real. Eggs, bread, milk more expensive here than supermarkets like Smart & Final, which sells milk for $2.89 a gallon. Many places sell eggs under $2 a dozen. July 23, 10am: muscat grapes imported from Chile on sale for $0.89 per lb. Get out of here! Muscat grapes are often $4 or $5 per lb available for sale only in March. I come back twice that day, and get 10 lbs of muscat grapes. Yes, there is a catch, as these grapes are on their last legs, and will not survive another day, even under the tarp roof outdoors in the summer heat. Have to make a left hand turn to get into this place, and a left hand turn at the signal to get out of here. Long 90+ second traffic signal red light, longer if a pedestrian tries to walk on the parking lot gap between cars waiting to exit. read more

I have sent a formal complaint to the customer service e-Mail address they provide on their receipts also included the daughters owners (Saira) email address that I found on their Facebook page. Just to get my e-Mail mark as a spam. So I never got a replied from them. My parents always go to Felipe's Market to get their fresh fruits and Vegetables and I never heard them complain about them. I heard how poorly employees get treated there so I personally don't bother to shop there. It wasn't until last week when My parents shared with how rude the Cashier Nick was. He was slamming the fruits and vegetables and one time they bought limes and had forgotten the count of the limes, he was upset about that, when my father tried to count the number of limes. Nick went ahead and just snapped it off his hands. I tried to get a hold of management but it left me no choice but to share this on Yelp! I give this place one star base on their poor service starting from the cashier all the way up to management/owners. read more
