I have NO idea how this place gets such great reviews. I could not be more unhappy with their grooming services. This is the second time (thought they deserved a second chance) that I took my dog (a doodle) to get groomed. Both times, I told them that I wanted to keep her fur long. Both times, I showed up and she looks like a skinned rat! My dog is 8 years old, and I normally have her groomed every 5 weeks without any issues. I have never had a groomer/grooming service not listen to my requests - until I brought her here. No phone call, no explanation, just shaved her until her pink skin is exposed. I will not be bringing her here again, and I definitely cannot recommend this place. read more

Made an online request. Site said they would call within 48 hours. Never received a call, so I called two more times every two days, politely requesting a return call. Nothing. Makes me wonder how much attention they actually pay to the dogs. Even if someone had just called back and said, "Sorry, we don't have those dates," it would have been acceptable. I've been a customer here for at least 8 years. My regular groomer left to pursue other opportunities in December so I was referred to Maddie, another groomer. I have a Maltese and 2 Goldendoodles. I requested puppy cut on their faces and Maddie assured me that they would get the teddy bear look. She not only shaved their heads, their coats are botched and so uneven that it will take months for this horrible groom to grow out. Maddie asked what I thought of the groom and I said it was too short and not what I asked for. Her response was that "Luckily, it will grow out". After complaining to Toby, the manager, all he could offer was to put me with another groomer the next time. I referred my neighbor to this place and she is no longer going because of another groomer shaving her dogs tail. The lack of empathy these young people have floors me. So happy I could (and did) cry!! We've been taking our poodle to the same groomer his entire life but recently moved far enough away the old location became inconvenient.. Our shepherd had only been groomed one other time prior to our visit today. With both dogs being a little timid with strangers - something we're working on - I was so anxious bringing the dogs to a new groomer. The foothills staff took such good care of the boys and made them look so handsome!!!! At our previous groomer they were so quick to shave our poodle if he was even just a little matted so I expected to pick up a bald pup since it had been so long since his last appointment but much to my very delighted surprise he was brought into the lobby with hair... hair all over his body!! The shepherd was also neatly cleaned up and bathed. Both dogs were so happy and smelled so good after their appointment with the team. Thank you so much!! A friend referred me to Foothills Pet Resort, and I'm so glad she did! My cat Lizzie has been in need of a grooming for a few months. I haven't been able to keep up with it myself since having my baby. Lizzie has difficulty grooming herself, so she requires bathing and the occasional hair trim. She also gets her nails trimmed. Arturo took excellent care of my Lizzie and she looks fabulous! The cost was very reasonable as well. Paws down the best kennel I have boarded my dog at! I've left Max at various kennels while on vacation and he has never come home so happy as he did from the Foothill Per Resort. I could tell he was given a lot of attention and exercised enough since he wasn't out of control and needy when I picked him up. Some of the other places I've taken him (ex: Canine Country Club near the airport) have been a terrible experience for him and he's come home a total wreck losing hair and seriously needy and anxious. Not this time! It's worth a few extra bucks a night to know he'll be as happy and loved and when he's at home. read more

The service has always been amazing but lately I think they are short staffed! It seemed as if our two small dogs were not fed or watered for their three night stay and they were incredibly stressed! Toby could not relax or stop panting uncontrollably for over 3 hours once he got home! They ate and drank more than they than do in 3 days in a of couple hours!!! I believe they care just short staffed and should limit their accommodations until they can properly attend to them read more

Fantastic kennel! I am so lucky to have found this wonderful group of people that care for my dogs! Rocky and Adrian are normally pretty skittish and shy, but they LOVE going for 2-3 day overnight trips...they are always SO happy when I pick them up! Have been taking my cat here for grooming for a while and they always do a great job, but the guy who did her today (I believe his name was Arturo but I could be wrong) did amazing. I know some may find it weird taking a cat in, but with her long fur and unfortunately large size she tends to get a lot of mats in her fur. She always comes home happy, soft, and free of any tangles! I find the pricing in line with the job they do. Would definitely recommend giving them a try for any service. read more

We have left our dog here over several vacations. They have dog suites and basic boarding. They allow social dogs to play together during the day, and then they go in their separate spots at night. One time, we opted to have our dog shampooed before we picked him up. He broke out in a rash all over his skin for about a week and a half. He wasn't complaining about it, so the vet said he was fine, but I won't have that service done again. (would have given five stars, except for that issue.) Never had any issues with the boarding - just the grooming. I will take my dog here again. read more

Just moved to Phoenix! Recommended by local friends to this place for dog grooming. Called - David on phone - very nice, friendly and listened to my concerns. We have a Coton de Tulear and very hard to groom with the long white hair. This place nailed it. Just outstanding service and the grooming was perfect. In fact, in 7 years in Chicago - the dog never looked as good as this with the brush out and cleaning from FPR. We were so apprehensive with taking a chance with the coat challenges with this breed and so pleased with the result of this groomer. As a busy lawyer that travels a lot, I did not think I could have a dog. I found a stray and thought I'd get her healthy and trained and then find her a good home. I love her so much that it was difficult. However - FOOTHILLS PET RESORT! I discovered doggie daycare and dog boarding. My dog loves it here. She gets tons of love from both people and dogs. She needs special meds, and I can tell if she doesn't get it (because her eye gets bloodshot). When I pick her up from Foothills after boarding, her eye always looks perfect, meaning that she has been medicated religiously. Also, she gets her own little bedroom for boarding, which is so much better than the large cage that she would have if I had to board her at the vet. My dog always loves coming to Foothills. She remembers her caregivers, and even when I'm leaving for a trip, she gets excited when she gets out of the car and realizes we're at Foothills. It's so clear that they care about her and take such good care of her. I could not have a dog - at least, a happy, well-socialized and well-cared-for and well-exercised dog - without Foothills. I visited the facility and was greeted by a very kind and informative receptionist. I was looking for a place to take my dog during the hot AZ summer for play time with other dogs. I was interested in once a week day care. I was really pleased with the tour and the information I was provided. I tentatively set a day and time to come in for a trial. As I was getting ready to leave the receptionist answered the phone and was talking to a client about one of their groomers. She started explaining to the customer the groomer has had other complaints and started gossiping. I was completely disappointed on how unprofessional the woman/employee acted. This is poor business practices and will not use this facility. read more

I get my little dog groomed here. They do a great job. She is clean and happy when I pick her up. She usually has on a really cute handkerchief. The people that work here are really friendly. I am going to take my new dog here to get groomed too. I might leave her while on vacation in a few weeks. I love that you can see the dogs playing in the back on a tv screen. Updated: the owners mailed us a check refunding us completely for the grooming. However, the letter they included with it was still rude! Even if they believed that shaving my dog was a "miscommunication", they should accept responsibility and apologize. Instead, the owner said he did what he believed was best....without even calling first to check if it was ok. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. I will never return here, and I will continue to tell my friends to take their dogs elsewhere. Final thought: It's not worth the gamble to take your pup here when there are plenty of better groomers in the area. read more

We first brought our 7 year old golden to this business last week for a bath and he came back cleaner than he has ever been in his life! They brushed out all of his matting and he was softer than ever before! This weekend we brought him back in for a haircut and nail cutting and I could not be happier! He's a big shedder and he isn't very used to the Arizona heat, so cutting his hair down we feel is his best option (on top of his seasonal hot spots) he even looks happier without all of his hair weighing him down and keeping him hot! I definitely recommend this business for all your grooming needs! He has always been a handsome doggy, but now he looks like he's ready for a night out on the town (corny I know) . Hello.. I just wanted to write a follow up because I think it is necessary.. it's a few months we have been taking our little fur baby to the Foothills Pet Resort and we couldn't be happier that they exist! They have helped him grow his socialization skills, and have helped make him into such a loving little puppy. He is not afraid of people, and not afraid of other dogs.. now he's still afraid of trucks and vacuums but the Pet Resort cannot help with that..hahaha! Our little guy has been boarded with them in a Suite on several occasions, and they have him bathed and looking cute when we pick him up. He is so happy to see us and so happy when we drop him off for daycare. He LOVES Peggy to death and is always so comfortable around her.. and the rest of the staff is always so sweet to him! I think the owners (JJ and Jimmy) have done an amazing job choosing such a wonderful staff.. Kudos to them for making this a place dogs loves to go to. We also get our puppy groomed here and they always make him look so cute and are very detailed in paying attention to what we want done to him. And he always looks fabulous when he is ready! All in all, I felt I needed to write a follow up because this place has made a huge impression on me and my husband and has made life easier knowing our puppy is always left in capable and loving hands! read more

Not only am I a Veterinarian, but I do not have human children because my dogs are my life! Therefore, I diligently visited many doggie day cares in search of the right one for my 10-week old Border Collie (Ringo) to go to on Sundays because my husband and I go out to watch football, and we didn't want to leave the baby home alone. We wanted Ringo to have fun and get socialization at the same time. This is an Amazing place! My baby has been going there every Sunday for 3 months now, and he LOVES it! He is So excited to go every week. The staff is Amazing! Dante, who is up front when we get there is SO good with him! My pup runs to him like he's family every week! Ringo just loves him! They do the best job around, my dog looks so much more shiny and smells better than other places. He is a lab so I usually get the furminator treatment. I think the prices are a little higher than other places, since the bath doesn't include nails and teeth brushing, but they really do a much better job. read more

This is seriously as good as it gets for your pet!! My dog Sunnie has been coming here on a regular basis for a couple years and I never worry; I know she's in great care.
