In the past i use to love ordering from Footprints but now when i order I've been disappointed. My go to order, BBQ shrimp with rasta pasta use to be delicious ...now when i order it doesn't taste as same. The flavors are just not there anymore , sadly. I would just like to open up by shamelessly stating that all my years of living an approx. 10min drive away from here, I've never been. That isn't to say that I've never had food from here, I've just never dined in or physically entered to say the least. Let me say this though, I wasn't missing a darn thing. I've dined here at a table and at the bar in which of course the latter was far more favorable. Not good -- at all. I like space, because in all aspects of the word, space correlates to comfort. Nevertheless though -- my oh my when the food came I lost all sense of distaste for my environment. This particular time, I had the Rasta Pasta (w/ jerk BBQ tenders). It was amazingly good! Not that I'm surprised, however it reminded me of why I even obliged to come dine here in the first place. This is the restaurant that introduced me to Rasta Pasta years ago and now I remember why it's the bar set for all other Rasta Pastas to must be measured by. This dish has just enough sauce, the portion is more than enough to promote satiety, and the taste is impeccable. Did I mention their drinks here are no joke!? Monday evening, 11 PM...the place was PACKED! Yes on a MONDAY! It so happened to be karaoke night and Footprints was jumping. We got a table fairly quickly. Bar stools and a small table. For 2 people under 5'3 it's pretty funny to see our feet swinging. But I digress! The waitress came and took our entire order which was cool. It was so crowded making her way over to us at our corner table was a challenge. My pina colada was sweet and delicious. Not too much alcohol which was ok with me. It was garnished with a sweet piece of pineapple and a cherry which I can't stand and gave away to my cousin. For our app we ordered the honey garlic wings. Yum! They are sweet and a tad bit spicy. Well seasoned with a side of blue cheese dipping sauce. 6 to an app. Perfect size to get you ready for your meal. Next was the entree. I ordered the rasta pasta with jerk shrimp and my cousin the rasta pasta with cajun shrimp and chicken. The food was delicious. The amount of pasta could be a meal for 3 different sittings. The pasta is full of garlic and cream flavor and the shrimp were spicy, spicy, spicy! The cream helped to calm to fiery taste. I've been to this location a few times before and I don't remember the service being so bad. As soon as we got there the hostess had an attitude. Small place so it is always jam-packed. Crowd tends to be young and rowdy. We went on a Sunday night and had to pay a FEE to dine because of some "show" which never happened (no refunds mind you!). Prices for food/drink are overall expensive since they are the only game in town. And the service is...wait, what service? The food is consistently good, we had a platter with wings, chicken tenders, shrimp and plantains as an appetizer. I had Steamed Fish and my friend had rasta pasta with curried chicken. My friend ordered King Fish with rice and peas to go for someone and the peas were undercooked...so they were hard...no bueno. It is a bit tight but it's a nice local, safe place to enjoy a good drink, good food, good music(sometimes too damn loud) and sometimes good service. Speaking of service it should be improved our waiter had as much personality as a WET MOP. I actually can't stand being waited on by him but we all made it through dinner. The 2 stars are for the Cajun Rasta Pasta,with Shrimp and Chicken. It was perfect. The right amount of flavor,mixed with the Cajun heat. The shrimp and chicken were both juicy and tender. As for the rest of my order,the roti skin was equal parts tough,and crunchy. The crab cakes were alright flavor-wise,but the outside was burnt. The Mac&cheese was meh. The mashed potatoes had a weird texture,and a bland taste. And that nasty ass calamari was the worst. I really wanted to come here after hearing all of the hype about the "rasta pasta" When we entered we were greeted nicely, n was asked to hold on for bout 5 mins while a table got cleared for us. Not that crowded, but a decent amount of people. Our waitress welcomed us gave us the drink menu n the food menu. Scanned the menu but knew what I was getting already. When we got in, it was sensory overload - between the loud music, patron chatter, flashing colored lights, and minimal plain light. The drink was good and the mussels were delicious! The wait for the food was a little discouraging - we got hopeful each time we saw a server. The food took about 20 minutes for the appetizer to come. We both ordered rasta pasta - one with jerk chicken and the other with chicken and shrimp. The entrees took about 30 minutes to come. I ordered the Rasta pasta with fried shrimp and the shrimp ( and I always get this) was over cooked like it was in the microwave and it was very very hard. I love this place! I have been here a couple times and always enjoy my visit. I always get the Rasta Pasta which is amazing. I have also tried the wings which are really good too. The drinks are great too. I love the strawberry margarita and the blue Hawaiian here. I love the music and the vibes here. You will always have a good time at Foot Prints. My only issue is the wait. I had a young male server, can't remember his name, but I ordered a coco loso with him and I was well lit off that one drink. I've been a fan of footprints and long time resident of the Canarsie/East Flatbush area for years, footprints have always been my go to spot and I raved about them and their food to everyone. As of lately, when I come to NY to visit, I was very disappointed in their food. I tried both the Flatbush and Clarendon location and the food was horrible. Very bland and dry, their Rasta pasta was not like it used to be. The order online and pickup at the Clarendon location was a disaster, no notification on when your food is ready, the bouncer at the door is very rude and aggressive for no reason. I was embarrassed when I highly recommended this place to friends, only to be disappointed in their food and service. We came to this restaurant because it was close from the rides in Coney Island, we didn't want to wait 2 hrs in line to eat corndogs, so we went across the street and found Footprints. The place has a nice balcony and the decor is decent. I don't think we got the best service ever, it was just ok. The food was priced fairly and they have a big menu full of choices. I ordered fried tofu and it nicely seasoned, I was not super happy about the texture, since it was too soft inside, but it was allright. I have 2 complaints about the place: It takes FOREVER!!!!
