Jerk wings, rice & peas with oxtail gravy, cabbage, plantains
    Jalence I.

Today's lunch: jerk wings + rice & peas with oxtail gravy + cabbage + fried plantains. Best jerk chicken and homemade jerk sauce everrr! The chicken isn't spicy at all but the jerk sauce is super spicy. The whole time I'm eating it I'm sucking air to cool off but it's impossible to stop. In fact, I like extra. Fun fact: they sell it by the jar!...I also love that the plantains are sliced thinly, fried well but not burnt, and not too sweet. Rice & peas with oxtail gravy is divine and the cabbage, pretty good. The ackee & salt fish w fried dumplings is also my favorite! Get there before 11 or 12 for this because they typically run out by then. If you have to eat on the spot, there's a bar that seats about 3 people. Otherwise, plan to take it to-go. I've never had a bad meal and the customer service provided by the family is great. Price is right too! This (medium) meal was $10 and way too much to finish at once.

Very good, portion size was great. The picture is kind of jenky because I literally couldn't wait to eat, but I was very happy. I don't have a lot of Caribbean spots in my neighborhood so UBEREATS and DoorDash really come in clutch.

personal favorite Caribbean spot for takeout. my go to is the jerk chicken medium size. its a perfect portion, and the food always arrives hot. if you cant take spice, id avoid the jerk ! fast prep and delivery as well.

Ackee and Saltfish with no Ackee
    Sarah F.

Ordered breakfast through ubereats and was quite disappointed. I ordered the Ackee and saltfish breakfast and got nothing but saltfish. If you cant afford to give me more ackee than saltfish then just leave the item off the menu or at least call the customer to let them know you're out. The cornmeal porridge I got for my daughter didn't taste right either. Tasted like they used water instead of milk. I will not be eating here again sadly. Not sure about the other menu items but from what I ordered I was not satisfied.

I've ordered the bake and saltfish three days in a row! It's THAT good. The jerk chicken, escovitch and beef patties are awesome too.

I love the jerk pork meal. Make sure you ask for bbq sauce it gets spicy. The mac & cheese was blah. Solid 8/10, my go to spot.

Enjoyed their chicken roti. Have enjoyed their other dishes in the past. I am not sure why they don't have a Channa roti.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. Really sad that they're closing, but looking forward to whatever the chef/restaurant team does next!

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

It's a cute restaurant as well with open kitchen so great for a date if you're sitting at the bar or if you have a group the tables are pretty big as well. This place was the winner, and it was everyone's first time. We got in at our reserved time, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before our table was ready. Once it was, we were taken care of and quite frankly had no idea what treat we were in for! Let's start with the drinks. They have a drink on the menu called Celadon City. Who won the staff as a pokémaniac?! I had to get it just for the name. The rice vodka, yuzu, melon liqueur, and other flavors made it a fantastic, summery drink. My friends got the Smooth Landing & Smooth Talker ... One was a fantastic dirty martini and the other had the best bite of ginger. The food... Oh my God. We decided to split the breads and spreads and burrata... Each came with their housemade grilled focaccia, and the smoked paprika hummus and ricotta with chili honey? WHEW! The burrata dish with the sweet potato, pesto and tomato jam was a hit too. The menu didn't even say I'd have a balsamic drizzle on top! All of that was just the warm up... My gnocchi dish was spectacular. I'm not even a big mushroom person, but those oyster mushrooms and charred kale were a hit in the pasta. My friends' gigli pasta and mussels were great too. We ended up sharing a bottle of white wine as well, and the dinner was truly a 5/5. 0 I would absolutely go back, and it seems like their menu changes every now and then. I'm looking forward to the next time! Even if it's just for a cocktail.

My favorites were the clams, the tuna, and the rice dish, all three were so simple but done really well. The tuna especially tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, and the clams had such a light, clean flavor that worked perfectly with the wine. You can tell this is one of those places focused on quality ingredients and a more understated approach to food rather than overly heavy flavors. Had a welcoming and upbeat server, but the service was general slower and not rushed, 2.5hr for our meal. I was excited as the dishes sounded unique and promising but a lot of them fell short: The egg tonnato didn't have much flavor, the herb oil only adding a slightly grassy taste. I was excited for the hiramasa crudo, but it was bland and one note, even the mild pomelo overpowered the fish because of how little flavor. Fried anchovies were tasty and paired well with sage but the portion is so small for the price. What went well: sea bass was very well cooked, very soft, flaky, well flavored. Was under salted but I could add that myself. The pork was also well cooked, tender, generous portion of meat that paired well with the cherry. We finished off with the burnt caramel tart, which had a good flavor although the texture was on the softer side. I don't think the creme fraise really complemented it, but still tasty. There were some good dishes and Sailor is a vibe, but the price point and what we received I'm not sure if I'd return for a meal.
